Wedding Wednesday! (Take Two: Cakes!)

I felt like expanding on the post from earlier today with a post dedicated to beautiful cakes! There are only a few that I'm going to share but I'm fascinated with all of the cake shows on TV now and I always see things and think "Ooh! That'd be so pretty at my wedding!" I felt like sharing a few! (Most are from Martha Stewart Weddings! I don't care for her personality much but she's quite the homemaking whiz!) The first cake really reminds me of Susannah and her twitter profile

Another Weekly Wedding Question! What kind of cake do you want to have at your wedding? (Or what kind did you have?) Did you go for fondant or buttercream? Traditional or more ornate? Round, square, or otherwise? What about flavor?! Do share!

My opinion: I can't make up my mind! As per usual! I want so many things but it'll depend on the final theme! I'd like to think we'd do tiers different flavors, but who knows!

  3. I think the cake is so important.
something that everyone can enjoy but most of all one that you enjoy too..I have the idea for mine, and it will have buttercream/vegan buttercream icing, maybe in some tier kind of thing.
But, I want to get a custom twinkie chan crochet cake as the main cake on top, i think it would be magical, and a good keepsake! :) if not a little quirky, but itll match the rest at least! <3

  4. Hi Kaelah
only just found your little blog but i do adore it. So i thought i would share about my wedding cake.
We have been married for 3 years this week. :) Our cake was two tiers, fondant icing and we had a rich chocolate mud cake yum!! It is actually a recipe that we (as a couple) are famous for with our family and friends (and its a secret recipe) hehe so was really fun to have.
    Love your wedding Wednesday :)

  5. We had a variety of cakes from our favorite local italian bakery. Chocolate mousse, cheesecake with fruit, cassata, and carrot. Plus, a friend of my aunt's made us some wonderful cookies to share. There's a delicious picture here: http://cherylandrey.blogspot.com/2009/11/our-wedding-reception.html

  6. These are GORGEOUS! I think I'd like to do cupcakes. My friend's mom will probably do the cake for me, so I don't want it to be too complicated. And I DEFINITELY don't want fondant.

  7. I want to have a really small tiered cake (super ornate like those amazing flowery ones) made that will just be on display at the wedding--and then my hubby and I can enjoy it privately later. And for guests, I'll probably have chocolate cupcakes! I love those :D
