Blushing Bride

These are the outfit photos we shot at the little farm where we're going to get married. I didn't feel exactly dolled up for the occasion after little sleep, hours in the car, etc, but it was too pretty to pass up. Plus I was wearing wedding colors so we had to! This farm is seriously so beautiful. I just feel so lucky that we get to get married there, seriously. Speaking of wedding things -- I almost had a breakdown yesterday just thinking about everything that needed to be done and planned and budgeted, all the while trying to deal with tons of "real life" things. It really just felt like an all day panic attack trying to organize it all. My brain was in a tizzy, but luckily I was able to get the contracts I needed yesterday to put my mind at ease. For some reason I was thinking things were way more chaotic than they were. Luckily a good night's rest was the perfect remedy. Things are 100% good to go now and I just need to constantly remind myself that I don't always have to be stressed out. I'm one of those people who thinks I operate best under a lot of pressure. That's what college taught me.

The color palette shown below is basically an exact replica of our wedding colors, except trade the black for a sage green (think succulents), and then throw some burlap in for texture. It's exactly 6 months from today! I know so many brides can knock out a killer wedding in like 2 or 3 months, but I often find myself second guessing basically everything and redoing it. There is totally such a thing as too much inspiration, aka Pinterest and wedding blogs. I'm going to have to set a "cut off" date so I can unplug from them and not look at them again until after the wedding.
I just added a "Pin It" button to the bottom of my blog posts, so it'll make it loads easier to pin things directly from the post... you know, if you're feeling it. Twitter and Facebook are giving me issues with parsing the HTML so those will just have to wait. :) Happy Friday, y'all! I'm ready for a weekend full of family (and being away from the computer!) Now I'm going to go rest and fight off this yucky stomach bug I seem to have caught.

  3. I am pinning this straight away! I just love the colour combination!
I'm the same regarding always being stressed- I'm a stressy, busy person! Total type A personality!
Regarding wedding stuff, a friend of mine joined a website that gives you a kind of timeline and reminds you how many weeks before you need to do certain things? I have no idea what it's called but I always thought it sounded like a good idea to avoid forgetting anything!
I'm so excited for your wedding!

  4. I know exactly how you feel! I'm getting married in just over a year. We have absolutely no savings and nothing is booked. It is seriously freaking me out! Although the thought of everything we need to do scares me so much that I just put it all off which is obviously making it worse!

I'm sure everything will pull through though- for you and for me!

Good luck with your wedding! =]

  7. we are about 100 days out from our wedding and I go into some sort of panic daily. It's one thing to plan a wedding - but to do it being a full time step-mom, working full time and all the other things that life brings, it gets to be a little stressful and chaotic! Hang in there. I know yours and my big day will be perfect and all the panic worth it!

  9. Those colors sound gorgeous, with just the right mix of feminine, natural-neutrals, and classic!
I can never decide if Pinterest would have helped me plan our wedding or hurt, by making me second/third/fourth guess every decision. We got married just before the end of our last semester of college, and I think having all of that go on at the same time helped me not stress on the wedding alone. When I was getting too worried over wedding stuff, I worked on school stuff and vice-versa, with a 30-hour a week job thrown in the mix. Just keep your stress spread out, and then (maybe) your head won't explode! Good luck pulling it all together- you've got a great design eye, so I know you can do it!

  12. Those colors are going to look FAB! I can't wait to see how the wedding all comes together. My wedding in 2001 was a bitch to plan, but it ended up being so pretty by the standards of the time. I have a feeling that if I ever marry my current partner (we don't plan on it, but you never know... 7 years in and we may still change our minds), I won't bother with a proper wedding because my first one was done so well (even if they guy I married ended up not being right). Heh. :)

  13. Usually I'm one of those quiet blog lovers who just peak in, read all of the wonderful info, but never give my two cents. This time, I felt compelled to second your idea about unplugging from all of the mass inspiration and running with what you've got. I got married 9/18/11 and I constantly found myself filling up my actual (or virtual, in some cases) cart with tons of awesome things only to return it all because I found something "better." Once you get about 2 months away, stop looking! Just finish up what you have and without a doubt, it's going to be awesome (like you!).

I saw their photos of Elsie from a Beautiful Mess's wedding and they were just stunning! I'm getting way too excited about weddings after discovering pinterest...I haven't even found a fella worth marrying yet!

  18. Every wedding is incomplete without a meltdown, so you can cross that off your list. I hope the next 6 months are stress-free, and all the best for the big day!

  19. I LOVE THIS LOCATION! I can see the two of you getting married here. Easily. It's so perfect! And I love this outfit, too. It's so fitting that you wore white ;) Sometimes simplicity goes a long ways and I love how subtle but darling this outfit is. Gosh, I can hardly wait until your wedding! ;)

  20. This location is AMAZING! Please don't feel like you're alone. I'm a very very laid back person and I had a few panic attacks {over really silly stuff} when I was planning my wedding last year. What is also normal the whole 2nd guessing yourself thing. I did that too, a lot! Just remember the day is about you and your hubby to be and your union not how perfect say the center pieces will be.

Your colors are great, you picked an amazing month to get married {I was wed in October last year} and I only had 6 months to play my big day!!!

    I can't wait to see/read more! ox

  21. These made me think of you. http://pinterest.com/pin/177118197815385936/ Not sure if you've come across them before.

Not to worry, I think you're going to have a beautiful wedding. Bit by bit, it will all get done.

  22. Planning can be tough and things will go wrong, but it doesn't matter when you think of the real reason for this celebration. Besides, some of the best memories come from the imperfect moments. enjoy!

  23. Girl, I was exactly where you are one year ago (my wedding date was October 1st, 2011). It is SO hard to run businesses full time, live your life, and plan a wedding at once - especially when you're doing everything yourself. I had a few full-on meltdowns, I won't lie. The good news is that the closer you get to the date, the more things start to fall into place on their own. When you're 6 months out (at least for me), it's close enough that you feel panic creeping in (so much to do in so little time!), but far enough away that everything still feels kind of vague and unconfirmed. It's a really uncertain. As time goes on, more of the big things will get crossed off the list (like booking your AMAZING venue), and with each one, you'll be able to breathe a little easier. Of course, there are a million little details... But when the week before came around for me, I felt at ease enough to let the things that didn't get finished go, and just enjoy the day. There is no feeling in the world like looking around and seeing all of your family and friends surrounding you, there with no other purpose than to celebrate the love of you and your new husband. <3 P.S. Robbie was out of town with the band for a month before the wedding, and came home 4 days before REALLY sick... Like ER sick. And somehow, the wedding still turned out just how I'd dreamed. So just remember that no matter what, it WILL be perfect. :) xoxoxo

  26. Please don't let the wedding stress you out! At the end of the night you'll be married. That's the only thing that matters. The people who love you are there to see you wed and everything else is just icing on the cake.....or cupcake if you go that route. =0) BTW, beautiful outfit post.

Meanwhile, I completely get the *thinking* you work better under stress. I'm constantly having to do the same, and remind myself that things don't have to be *quite* so overwhelming.
Good luck with all of the wedding plans, it's going to be beautiful!

  36. I know exactly how you feel. I just got married on Friday and in the lead up to the wedding I had many moments where I felt really overwhelmed by everything we had to do and it often got too much for me. It will all click into place and on your day just remember to step back, take it all in and enjoy it. We sourced and made so many things ourselves and paid for the bulk of it and whilst it was pretty hectic before the wedding it was amazing to step back and think we did this! Enjoy every minute. X

  39. Your colors are so pretty! I think the blush and sage combo totally suits you :) I definitely relate about being over-inspired! I said from the beginning that if I start to stress over anything I'm going to put it down and ask myself does it REALLY matter. So far most things haven't. I haven't gotten into the really big stuff yet though, so we'll see. EEK!

  40. Oh gosh, definitely such a thing as too much inspiration! We planned our wedding in three months and it was crazy but amazing and completely perfect, but looking at wedding blogs and wedding stuff on pinterest is sometimes worse, would make me feel bad or guilty or like my wedding wasn't going to be beautiful enough.
