Peach is my favorite color. Peach and brown. And ivory. And maybe some light blushy pink, too. How many favorite colors are too many? I instantly knew I had to have this cardigan and dress when I saw the colors of them on Friday. We went on a little birthday shopping trip to Opry Mills since it just reopened on Thursday (It's been closed down since the May 2010 flood!) It's pretty incredible what they've done to the place... it's beautiful. But as any middle Tennesseean will probably agree, it's so annoying that there's no middle area to walk through the mall at. It's a giant loop that you have to make, and the back loop really doesn't have any good stores. haha I know it's totally lame to complain about that, but it's seriously something that has annoyed me for the entire 12 years (?) that Opry Mills has existed. Such a tangent, I know. Moving on... The outfit! Once you get past the slightly taffeta-y feel/look of this dress, it's dreamy. Long enough to wear sans tights, dressy enough for a wedding event, but casual enough for every day wear. The cardigan is the perfect rust color, too. I know "rust" isn't very spring-like, but this is without a doubt one of my favorite combinations to wear.

Yesterday I spent the majority of the day totally owning my to do list. I wrote everything down on Sunday night and then just hit them head on Monday morning. Designs were done, mock ups were sent, code was written, the yard was mowed (thanks Mike!) and bills were paid. All with enough time to fill up two kiddie pools in the backyard and let Toby and the girls have a field day. I need to take a video next time. Georgia is a mad dog when it comes to water. She can't get enough. Pipkin isn't sold on actually being in the water, but she likes to run around the pools. Then there's Enid above... who really doesn't care for anything except for neck scratches, kitty treats, and bathing in the sun on the front porch. What a tough life she leads! (I totally had to include her in on some pictures because any time we walk out of the house to shoot photos in our yard, Enid is at my feet the entire time. She looks annoyed, but she loves to be the center of attention!)
Today is for more to-do lists (but hopefully a shorter one!), friendly visits, and enjoying the air conditioning. It's finally so hot in Nashville that we had to give in. I love hearing the train with the windows open, and waking up to chirping birds... instead I'll now find solace (and a nice breezy comfort!) in falling asleep to the sound of some quality AC. Tomorrow I'm going to share some exciting wedding news! xo

I absolutely adore this combination Kaelah! I've been after a cardigan that colour for what feels like forever! You look amazing!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte x
Girl this colour combo is simply devine! It looks amazing on you. I may have to take this combo into my own wardrobe :)
ReplyDeleteAs always looking amazing. :)
Ever heard Lauren Alania's "Georgia Peaches"?? (:
ReplyDeletelovely peach colour, that's my favorite colour too!(:

I love peach, but I'm always too afraid to go for it. I'm stuck in a black, gray and other dark colors rut. I was in Nashville two weekends ago, and I was so bummed that I just barely missed the Opry Mills reopening.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your posts. I love seeing a fellow Tennessean on my blog feed. :)

I was in a TJMaxx the other day and saw that bag and thought of you! So colorful and unique. Love the bunting necklace.
ReplyDeleteI love that bag. I never find anything that cool when I go to TJ Maxx. I need to go shopping with you.
ReplyDeleteAdore that bag! I love how you always wear something I actually might be able to afford ;) its super hot down here in Florida too!
ReplyDeleteThe combo of the brown and peach and your hair color is SO, SO pretty. Yay for tackling (and making progress on) to-do lists! Excited to hear the wedding news tomorrow :)
ReplyDeletexoxo.
I love the color peach. I think we're drawn to it because of growing up in the South during the 80's. Peach used to be everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with that dress and the necklace. so pretty! i need you to dress me! lol can't wait to hear the wedding news!
ReplyDeletethat dress is so pretty and your cat is very cute :)x

I love this color combo, it definitely helps that these colors look stunning on you!
ReplyDeleteThe color combo really does work! And I think the rust works for spring when the bulk of the outfit is the lighter peach! It also coordinates reeeeeeaaaaalllly well with your hair, which is not an easy feat (I know, I have blueish hair right now and not clashing with it can be rough).
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous color on you. And your kitty is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI love this dress + cardigan combo!!!
ReplyDeletePS Congrats on getting everything on your to-do list accomplished!! Have a wonderful day!! xoxo
Hey gorgeous!! Absolutely love the dress!! That color looks stunning on you. My slightly olive skin tone does not allow for such a peachy color and I'm completely jealous! :)
ReplyDelete-Nicole
Hey gorgeous!! Absolutely love that dress! The color looks amazing on you, and I'm totally jealous.. my olive skin tone will not allow for such a beautifully soft peach like that!
ReplyDelete-Nicole-
What a beautiful outfit. I'm so jealous of your figure, dresses look so great on you!
ReplyDeleteyay for marking a ton of things off the to do list! :) and those colors in your outfit are simply lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit, the color combination works so perfectly. The bag, as well as the cat, adds a lovely contrast as well. I've been an avid reader for a few months now but this is my first comment! I know it doesn't make much of an impression... but maybe they will in the future.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, and I adore your big button plugs!
ReplyDeleteI would have never thought to put rust and peach together! It actually looks quite nice :) Go you! The kiddie pool time sounds like a blast. I kind of miss those days! Give that cute little Enid a pat on the head for me. Her facial expression in that last picture reminds me SO MUCH of my cat. haha
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so cute! And this might sound a little..odd? But your bag reminds me of Arizona! I went to school out there for a year and the colors of the purse are so popular out there! I loooove it!
ReplyDeleteka-ute! and the bag is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteand kitty doesn't look too pleased to be in the last photo! haha
well, hello Enid. haha. she stole the show.... but not as much as Pip in those twitter pics yesterday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. I swear you always have some of the best outfits! And I love that Enid was able to join in the photo fun :)

I'm so glad Opry Mills is up and running! I can't wait to go back and see what they've done to it but I've decided to wait a few months to try and avoid the crowds. Are all the same stores there or did they change it up?
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, btw :)
most of the same stores, plus 50+ new ones! they have like a coach outlet, several surfer/beachwear stores added, and a lot of ralph lauren/michael kors type boutiques. they definitely stepped it up a notch. it's like a mix of the old opry mills with green hills mall! :)
DeleteOh wow, that's awesome! I'm excited to go check it out!
DeleteI love the color combo! I couldn't stand that loop around Opry Mills either, but it's something different,I guess... I hope to go there this summer! Good luck with your to-do lists! And yes, bring on the AC! Hello Spring...er,should I say summer?! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your plugs :) And your kitty - so so cute!

you have one of the cutest cats I have ever seen. Your dogs are adorable too, but the face on your kitty is so precious!!!
ReplyDeletethose colors look fantastic with your hair! love it, you're too adorable!
ReplyDeleteoh man, i drove past opry mills on saturday and it was SO PACKED! i want to go check it out, i'm hoping the bigger forever 21 will have their plus size stuff, since the cool springs one doesn't. i HATE the loop too!! it is so freaking annoying to have to walk alllllll the way around, that mall seems to go on forever!
ReplyDeleteopry mills does carry the +/faith 21 lines, though if i remember correctly the section is kind of small. but i'm so glad someone feels me on the loop! haha so pointless :P
DeleteThat color combination is seriously gorgeous. My westie only likes to be in the water for a little bit, just so soak his little legs. His baby girl, on the other hand, goes in face first and tries to bite the water. They can keep me entertained all summer.
ReplyDelete-april.
I can't believe that dress is from F21! Their dresses are usually SO short.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so lovely.
-Sam
I was just as shocked as you! haha :P
DeleteYou look sooooo skinny! Love these colors.
ReplyDeleteSkinny skinny Minnie. Love these colors!
ReplyDeleteLove this colour combo! Rust is one of my favourite colours right now.
ReplyDeletethis look is soo sweet! great color combo and fun bag!
ReplyDeleteI love your random tangents, your button plug and your cat!
ReplyDeleteMy little cousin's name is Enid and I had never heard that anywhere else so... there's that.

I love the bag and the dress, your leg tattoos are really killer too. Enid is seriously so adorable. Oh, sweet sweet air conditioning, it hasn't been hot enough here yet for air conditioning but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be a different story very soon.
ReplyDelete<3Honeysuckelle
oh that handbag is to TIE for kaelah! And you go girl! You knock that stuff off your to-do less!
ReplyDeletei love this outfit!
ReplyDeletethe colors are so pretty.
and good luck with your to-do list (:
xo, cheyenne
Aw, I have this dress! I wore it without a cardigan though and now have a huge v-shaped sunburn on my back, though. Pale skin woes! But I love how you've styled it, the color of that cardigan is perfect and I love that purse! I wish my dog liked swimming, no matter how many times we've tried to get him to get into the pool he just refuses!
ReplyDeletei love this! one of my favorites :) the colors are just perfect.
