The Perfect Answer

(via, original source unknown)

While this is an incredibly simple picture/idea, the sentiment almost made a lightbulb turn on in my head. I've been thinking lately how much I miss certain people, or how I wished for certain things in life... It's truly as simple as making them happen. Today I'm writing a few letters to friends who live in far off places. I'm going to make lists and goals, and take the initial steps toward attaining them.

Even something as simple as a text or email will suffice. We don't necessarily have to go to great lengths to make our feelings known to those important to us.

If you can find a few minutes of spare time today, write a letter, email or text message to a friend. Call them if you want (Technology makes it too easy to forget the sound of someone's voice). Tell someone you appreciate them. Write a list of things you want out of life, and make them happen. Not such a hard philosophy, right?

Of course some things are easier said than done, but in the end it just makes them that much more rewarding! Here's to a wonderful week! xo

  1. you're absolutely right. just a simple little message saying "hi!" is enough to let someone know you're thinking about them (:

  2. I should print this out and put it on my fridge. I'm the sort of person who spends way too long waiting for other people to organise things or figure out that I don't understand something when I should be taking the initiative. Goes to show that sometimes these shorter posts are the most effective :) I think I'll organise for me and my boyfriend to go out for dinner tonight instead of wondering why we rarely do. I'll give HIM a nice a surprise instead of expecting one :)

  4. I love this post. I feel like so many people (including myself) sit around and wait for someone else to take the initiative and nine times out of ten are going to be disappointed. This is exactly what I needed to read today. Thank you!

  17. I recently came across this image too!
I've been taking this philosophy to heart a bit lately - I recently deactivated my facebook account and have been needing to make the effort to call people, skype them, or send them a little text directly! It's a nice refresher, and to have to have them do the same, I actually feel closer to my friends than ever at this point.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  20. Great reminder! I've started pushing myself to stop making excuses and sort things recently. Sometimes there are reasons like money or distance but perserverance will win through. Writing letters/phone is better than nothing :) its getting the moment of feeling connected with that person.
