Denim and Red

Love Song by Sara Bareilles on Grooveshark

I've worn this outfit both ways so far, so I thought I'd just condense them into one outfit post. I mean, when the only factor is tights, you may wonder how that constitutes as a totally different ensemble. I know I promised you no outfit posts for a few days, but I'll be posting my rad new Stitch Fix box tomorrow! This week is going to be all about adventuring, catching up on design work (a never ending task), and making our house a home. We're finally getting the artwork in the mail so I can't wait to share more of that! Feel free to link over any other rad artists you think we should check out! We're looking for some rad illustrators to do us some family portraits for one of our rooms so if you know of anyone who does awesome portraits, please let us know!
I know that this song is "so 2007" but I've been listening to this album a lot lately and there are tons of memories associated with it. No shame! haha I'm also working on my "24 before 25" list of goals for Friday's birthday post! I'm coming up a little short as I've realized I kind of accomplished many of which I was saving for this list! That's such an exciting feeling... but also makes me feel like I need to dream a little bigger... so I guess that's what I'll do! Do you make birthday goal lists, too? If so, what are some of yours?!
Also -- how fun are these shoes?! They're so comfortable, and I'm glad to have finally styled them up! The red denim is seriously just too much. Perfect for spring and summer! (As always, you can save 15% off your own Blowfish shoes with the code BFBEE15!) I think I might try to style the dress a little more "nautical" next time... we'll see. Hope this week is wonderful for you! I'm gonna go sip some coffee and knock out the rest of these emails. I'm almost caught up! xo

  3. I've looked back on lists I made "What I want to do before I turn 18" and I just laugh.

This is such a cute outfit and your hair color seems to fit with the orange dress. Without the tights, it's more of a spring/summer outfit. With the expected highs in the 80s this week, I will not be wearing any tights this week. I do miss them though; wearing tights meant no shaving. =)

  6. I'm not sure if Kate does family portraits or not, but I bet if you message her she'll at least consider it. It would be so cute to have a flapper inspired portrait.

Also...I adore your shoes. Blowfish always has the best stuff.

  7. Such a cute outfit! I love that dress, oddly enough, almost a little more sans tights but it's probably because then you can see your gorg tats! One of my fave artists is Jenyffer Maria, I got a little custom notebook of my pup and I and I absolutely love it, she is so quirky and talented:

  12. I'm loving this outfit without tights! Mostly because I love your tattoos :) I recently found the perfect denim jacket at Goodwill, so I'm super excited to wear it.

  14. Ah! I can't wait to read your birthday goal list. I make lists every year either starting on my birthday or January 1 (since my birthday is in June I kind of give myself 18 months for each list). I love reading other people's and that's so wonderful that things you would have wanted by next birthday have already been accomplished. Exciting! Here's to encouraging your dreaming (big).

  15. Love the red colour with denim!! Great combo.
I do have a list! It's a mix of things, a lot of artsy goals like painting at least 12 paintings or finishing up a series of illustrations I thought up of!
Can't wait to see your list :)

  18. My birthday was a few weeks ago and I did a 27 before 28 (Ahh!) Some include: learning to draw better, move out of Southern California, get a credit card (I have an excellent credit score but don't own credit cards. I want the score to get even better), get a passport, get a dog, and save $10,000.

  21. Love the outfit posts - as always! I took some inspiration from you and went on a shopping spree - and today I wore a dress/cardigan/tights combo that I normally wouldn't have paired together.

I'm actually an illustrator. I can hook you up with a illustration for your birthday, if you'd like.

  27. those shoes are amazing - blowfish has been coming out with some great items. your dress is amazing as well - i love the neckline, skirt, and little white details. it's super flattering on you. and it's just more 'fall/wintry' with the tights - it's great either way, though i prefer the bare legs with your awesome tattoos because i'd like to think everyone is starting to get the warmer weather right now.
