// Our Self Shot Engagement Photos, Part 2

Thanks for making us feel so good about attempting to shoot our own engagement pictures on film! We were really happy with the outcome, even the defect/out of focus ones as I said. We're looking forward to trying it again soon, but luckily we were able to narrow it down to one image for our Save The Dates. I'll be sure to share those once they arrive in the mail!

Until then, here is the second round of images! Oh, and we'll have a fun little announcement soon sort of regarding these photos! (You'll have to excuse Mike's silly expression in some of these. I always manage to catch him mid-scowl or something! He's not exactly a super fan of having his photo taken!) These were all shot on the farm where we're getting married in October!

PS; Because someone asked in the last engagement photo post, there was no Photoshop involved in these photos! These are straight from the lab. That's the magic of film! Colors and bokeh like you could only dream of with digital. And the requested clothing details are: Forever 21 cardigan, Ross dress (altered by me), Etsy brooch. Mike is wearing a Levi's shirt and Banana Republic jeans! (Mike wears a titanium "engagement" ring that I gave him last year. It's engraved with our song on the inside.)

  5. Aw, these are so beautiful! I think my favorite is the 11th from the top, where you and Mike are standing in front of the barn and he's gazing adoringly at you. So sweet! And how fantastic that these are unphotoshopped film, too.

  8. Aww, I love the pictures, they turned out really lovely. I have to say your hair is absolute perfection here, the curls are gorgeous. Your dress is really pretty, as is the location. October is a popular month it seems to get married, a few years ago we had a few friends get married within weeks of each other, I get it though since October is pretty much the best month (in my opinion).

  38. 4th photo from the bottom of you with your hand in your hair is actually the prettiest picture of you EVER, so beautiful! Lovely photos all around - isn't film amazing in that way? I so want to get back into using it more but it costs so much that I try to save it for special occasions.

And because you did them yourselves, they are just so, so "you"! I love it, and I can't wait to see the rest and your Save the Dates. ;)

  50. These turned out awesome! I absolutely LOVE shooting with film, it's such a great thing. Love the 4th & 5th ones especially, the colors are stunning :)

  51. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair color. I wish I could pull that vibrant of a red off. These photos look great by the way!

  52. Stunning! Perfect! Your outfits were just right!

  53. More beautiful photos! I really apreciate that you represented yourselves equally. So many engagement and wedding photographers put all their focus on the bride/bride-to-be and it's as if the groom/groom-to-be is a prop. You didn't do that and I'm both impressed and appreciative. I think it goes to show that you recognize your life ahead as a representation of two people.

And while all of the photos are fantastic, the last one with Mike's ring is my favorite.

  54. they are REALLY lovely. and i love that you did them yourselves - my husband and i did that too! since you guys are so good and know what you want, if you haven't thought of it, consider taking some of your own wedding photos. my husband and i dressed up like 4 days before, before anyone arrived and things got crazy, went to the park we got married at, and did all of our own photos. i also took all of the shots of the groomsmen and got my hands on the camera during the wedding as much as possible. it was the best thing we did.

  55. Ohmygosh, way to rock the film! :) Your blurs are amazing...I love the first ones and the one with you holding the flowers in front...gorgeous!!

  56. love these, too! love the details <3 love the barn!! so in love with barns and barn animals. . . <3 what a lovely location.

you guys did great on film! i use digital, but i'm not much of a "photoshopper" anyway.
