Outfit Post : Saturday, August 7

Last night was my first night back at the bar after a few months. I was quizzing myself in the car about how to make certain drinks and amazingly, I had forgotten a few! I've been a bartender for four-and-a-half years, but even so, all of this new stuff in my brain from NYC and moving and all that, it's left me feeling kind of lost. Luckily the night went smoothly. A lot of changes have been made, people let go, new people hired, new drinks created, etc. It was still a slow night for the most part and I only made about half of what I used to make (this economy sucks!) but it was nice to see everyone again. Sadly the night ended with me chewing out a man twice my age and twice my size (but a third of my maturity & intelligence) for talking crap about someone he shouldn't have. It was honestly a funny experience and I wish it had been caught on tape. Of course, my boss says "good job!" and gives me a high five for doing what I did. That's why my job rules. (I don't promote violence in any way, but I also do not tolerate unnecessary douchebaggery).

Anywhoo, I was cut about an hour early so I was able to come home and crawl into bed. It was nice. This morning Mike and I woke up and headed out to this little tractor trailer graveyard basically and took some photos. I wasn't feeling my best today with my hair and whatnot (It needs a conditioning treatment asap) but we took them anyway. Afterwards we cleaned the entire house and his step sister, Maggie, dropped by to see the place. Always a pleasure to see her. She's such a doll. Mike and I did some grocery shopping for a potluck we're going to tomorrow and here I am. He just left for a half-shift at work and G and I are hanging out until I leave for work at about 8:30.

  15. Anon: I'll be sure to base all of my outfit choices soley on how I expect you to gauge my "thinness"... Actually no. I'm going to wear those jeggings regardless of how fat or unthin or not-as-cute you think they are because I like them, I think I look cute, and I think they're comfortable.

How can people think comments like that are constructive or nice?! Did it ever occur to you that I may not give a hoot what you think of my choice in dresses vs. Pants? What do my unthin legs have anything to do with YOU?

C'mon people! Get off of it and get over yourselves.

  16. thats good that YOU think the pants look good, i was just voicing what the rest of the people might think. but if you feel comfortable with wearing them even though they might be unflattering then by all means go forth with it. i was giving constructive criticism.

  17. Anon: well i'm lucky in the sense that i dont feel the need to cater to strangers that I don't even know (much less anonymous ones). i don't even feel the need to cater to people i call my nearest and dearest. i do what i want, when i want, how i want. if you don't like it, feel free to go elsewhere. i'm not going to change everything about myself just because someone feels the need to critique it. i'd be a seriously boring individual if i did. and again... its JUST pants. nothing for anyone to even take seriously. ~doin my thang.
