Are You Afraid Of The Dark?


These photos were shot last Sunday (Father's Day) in downtown Lawrenceburg. The little historic downtown area has so much charm about it. So many old abandoned business buildings, but pretty ones. It's almost a little sad, too. Seeing old establishments lose their clientele and eventually close up shop. It was a bit past dusk when we shot these but "after sunset" has become one of our new favorite times to shoot. Plus here's the white ruffle version of the dress two posts ago! I've become quite enthralled with white dresses this summer!

Chicago is so much fun! I can't even begin to describe how great it is to be up here with Chris and Susannah, and just enjoying ourselves. I'll have to do a full recap kinda post once we get back to Nashville or something because I don't want to miss anything here!

Last night was ridiculously fun. There were bikes involved at 2am and I may or may not have a battle wound to remember it by. Fun times had by all! We're going to go enjoy ourselves for the rest of our stay! Hope your weekend is shaping up to be something wonderful! xo

    I'm loving those wedges!!

    I love the setting too. I kind of find abandoned buildings beautiful and sad all at the same time. I'm a big fan of urbex photography for that reason, but I have to limit how long I let myself explore galleries of that type online because I get into a sad funk sometimes thinking about what might have happened or where the people went... I'm crazy like that ;)

    I love these nighttime outfit posts!! And I seriously envy your skills at finding great things at Ross! I went twice recently and I managed to find two dresses, but they aren't nearly as cute, and most of the selection was that polyester material that kind of feels like a slimy handshake? blech :p

    These are so beautiful. Would you consider having Mike do a tutorial on how to get this kind of lighting after dusk? It'll come in super handy for people in the winter when the days are so short.

    You know what I'd really like to see you in? 80s/90s colorblock hip-hop style. I have a feeling it would be way out of your comfort zone (just a guess), but it would look so fierce on you!

    I love this outfit! I like the light colored cardigan on the white dress. I really love white dresses but I am always afraid to wear them because I am super clumsy.

    I was just in Chicago! I traveled home on Friday. All my extended relatives live up there. The city is great when we make it down there. I love your adorable white dress in this post. The patterned cardigan looks great with it.

    The last photo is sooo great. You look so cute and happy! :)
    Also, the lighting made me think you were wearing transparent black nylons in the first few pics. It's crazy how lighting can affect your skin. Such a nice atmosphere to shoot in!
