I remember seeing this brilliant ad campaign a few years ago, but I only recently stumbled upon a full collection of pictures. This is hands down one of the most well planned and executed campaigns that I've ever seen. While the Sherwin Williams paint-swatch campaign will always have a place in my heart, I'm tempted to say few things have beat this one out. The campaign is for the German job site, Jobsintown.de. If I'm not mistaken these ads go all the way back to early 2006, or even before! The point of the ads is pretty transparent, but that's what makes the impact so powerful. I am in awe. Brilliant use of design!
They're even borderline creepy! It's as though you just expect them to start moving!
What are your thoughts? What are some of your favorite or most memorable ad campaigns?

They look so real! Some very imaginive places to put advertising instead of the run of the mill billboards and bus shelters.
ReplyDeletewow those are pretty incredible! I've never seen them before! I especially love the gas pump guy.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fitting as I've just been thinking to myself how I really don't like my day job, however it's what pays the bills (really well). I'm in that limbo land point of either I deal with it and pay the bills, or the bills suffer and I try to make a living doing something I love
it's tough. for sure.
These pictures are pretty damn awesome. I'll never look at vending machines the same way again haha!
ReplyDeleteThere was this massive ad campaign here a few years ago for a crisp brand, Taytos, featuring the inimitable Mr. Tayto. Around the time of the elections here, there were hundreds of Mr. Tayto election posters put up around the country with all the proper candidates. Juvunile, yes. Memorable, yes. Did I buy more Taytos? Hell yes.

That photo series is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat ads!
ReplyDeleteHa, I've always suspected that in some of those machines there were people doing hard work :) I'm kidding, of course, but it goes with the tone of the ads, you know.
I love the juke box one. It's classic. I'm always amazed at the ads that stick in my head like "where's the beef". I really like the new Toyota Sienna ads.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is fanrastic! Pity that ther's no similar campaign at the moment. This is even more relevant these days! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThere are always amazing people behind great ideas! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhen Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban came out, there were all kinds of "Wanted" posters for Sirius Black, on sides of buildings in rundown neighborhoods and such, so it looked like it would if it were a building in the movie.
ReplyDeleteThat;s a brilliant job.
ReplyDeleteWrong title for this post. You can change it with "Brilliant marketing campaign"
ReplyDeleteWow!! That's what you call thinking INSIDE the box~ literally!!

I work in advertising and in 20 years i unfortunately have never worked on a campaign as cool as this. Maybe some day.
