Mike and I wake up every morning and make coffee to put in our little to-go cups and we go for a walk. Usually around the neighborhood... exactly 1.5 miles. We use this time as our little mini-morning-date bonding time. Not only do we get a little bit of exercise, but we get to talk about how to spend the day be it working on etsy stuff, personal branding, this little blog, or daily adventures. Some people don't realize just how much work goes into running a blog that you update daily! I'm still amazed that there are some people out there that just never miss a beat! Anywhoo- yesterday we did our normal walk and then I just felt sort of "off" all day. No specific reason, but I just wasn't me. So we headed over to the park and walked 2 more miles. Something about walking outdoors really clears my head. I was in a much better mood afterwards. I also wear my trusty black flats when I walk. I hate tennis shoes and they didn't really go with what I was wearing (vain, I know!) so once they started irritating my feet (which has never happened!) I grabbed a pair of Mike's socks and cut them up to fit my flats perfectly. He was a bit appalled but they worked like a charm!

I pulled this Charlotte Russe dress from my closet and I knew I had only worn it once. This time last year to be exact! Something about it made me shy away.. Maybe the overly ruffled bust or something... but I'm glad I wore it today! I paired it with my navy tights courtesy of We Love Colors, and my favorite black wedges from Dolce Vita x Target. The belt is a cheap thrift find that is literally falling apart. I couldn't find my black cardigan so I opted for this blue floral embroidered Forever 21 number. I'm glad I did because I felt like it was a little unexpected, too. The giant flower fascinator is from Forever 21 ages ago I believe!

Today has been rather gloomy. No rain or anything. The temperature is nice, but I'd like some sunshine! Tonight will be spent working on blog designs for Theresa and Somer! Hopefully I can wrap those up while Mike is at class! I also need to wash my hair! Yikes!

Tomorrow we're going to try our hands at a homemade Tomato soup recipe! There's no fresh basil to be found in this town so my craving will have to wait until tomorrow! I'll be sure to share if it turns out worth anything!

* Outfit title by Mike... as always.

  3. That's just lovely that you have a walk around the neighbourhood every morning with Mike, what a perfect way to start the day! I love the idea of you two strolling around with your coffee cups, so cute.
Hope you find your fresh basil :) We use lots of basil, mainly through making your recipe for pizza naan breads all the time - they are a favourite in our household!

I hate those days where I can put a finger on what's going on with me. I'm ok but not fine kind of way. I just hate it.

  13. It's so sweet that you guys go on a walk together every morning! I'd love to do that with my boy, but he starts work at 9 everyday and is up so early to get there in time! We could always do an evening walk instead, though!

I adore the cardi, super cute! Always look forward to your posts, don't stress if you need a day off here-and-there!

  17. Your looking amazing as always. I love your sense of style. I've never enjoyed walking much BUT my mom swears by it. It is a therapy for her. Hope you get some sunshine soon! It was very sunny & warm here today. Supposed to have more of the same tomorrow. After that, old man winter is going to make a return. I'm just enjoying these beautiful days & trying to hang in there till Spring!

  26. Tell Mike he so rules at creating those blog titles. rock on Mike.

You look beautiful. Lovely as can be. why was Mike appalled with your sense of pairing the socks and flats? or was he mad you cut his socks?

  27. hey kaelah, i have an odd question.. ever since i saw your we love colors review, i've really wanted to try their tights, but i am hesitant because i haaate buying tights &having them be too tight in the waistband, resulting in a not-so-cute cupcake top effect. =/ you said they were stretchy, so i figure i'd give them i go. however, i don't know what size would work best though, so i was wondering what size you ordered. we look to be similar in size, so hopefully if i order the same size, they won't end up in the heap of too-small tights!

    thanks for your help! =)

    thanks for your help!!
