Eyes Lips Face

In addition to shoes [!!!], I've become a bit more obsessed with makeup and nail polish. I mean, I've always liked makeup, don't get me wrong. But I was never really really into it. I'd find a blush or eyeliner that I liked and I'd simply stick with it. I ran out of Nars Orgasm blush and never felt like driving back to Franklin to pick up a $30 compact so I opted for someone's suggestion of Candid Coral blush by ELF. Amazingly it was $3 at Target! I actually really liked it so I continued to use it. It took me about 6 months go to through one little compact. Afterwards I found myself curious about the quality of the rest of the ELF line as someone inquired if I had tried some other things. Before moving out of Spring Hill I decided to run by Target and stock up on eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, etc. Then once I got settled in here I found a 50% coupon code for the lipsticks! I quickly ordered a whole bunch of them as well as some nail polish. The pictures below don't do my little collection justice, but I wanted to share my feelings toward this company on the blog because I've been pleasantly surprised!

I'm a firm believer in splurging on great primer, foundation, and any products that you just truly truly love. (Bare Minerals foundation, Fresh Minerals and Smashbox primer, and MAC Fluidline eyeliner in my case!). But what about the other stuff? I've loved their lipsticks so far! At prices between $1 and $5 ($2.50 on sale!), they've been so great! My favorite shade thus far is a tie between Party Pink and Rosy Raisin. [Those are in the "Mineral Lipsticks" section!]. I've also loved the bronzer! It gives me a nice pinch of color to welcome in Spring. I'm a naturally pale gal but it's not dirty looking on my skintone.

If you've got a Target in your area, be sure to swing by and see if they have an ELF section in their cosmetics department! It's definitely worth a shot! Even if you end up hating it, chances are highly likely that you will have spent under $5!

Now through the 28th: Buy one item, get the 2nd for 50% off! Use the code PRESHALF on orders of $20 or more!

I'm thinking about placing another order simply because the coupon code is so good! Hooray!

Remember, if you’re going to be using eye makeup, you do need to take particular care of your eye health too! Never use makeup that has gone past its use by date and check in with your optician for an eye test. They may recommended contact lenses or glasses from https://www.eyeglasses.com/ to help!

Have you ever used ELF Cosmetics? What are your thoughts? Worth the price? Better than you expected? What products are your favorite?

PS; This post is in no way, shape or form sponsored by or affiliated with Eyes Lips Face Cosmetics! I purchased these items with my own money. This is solely my personal opinion and I decided to do this post and review simply on my own account! I just like to share fun new products when I come across something fantastic.

  1. I placed an order a few weeks ago and absolutely LOVE it! I got that big book thing like you have but in different colors and really love it. The plumping lip glosses really work ($3). I love the blush and eyeshadows too. I even got the zit zapper ($1 I think) and it even seems to really work! I'm really happy with them and will go back again too! Oh, the nail polish! Love it too! I'm a fan!!! (& also never paid in any way, lol)

  2. I have used some of the ELF products and have been pleasantly surprised at the quality! I've used blush, nail polish, shine blotters, one of the palettes (eye shadow, gloss..) and I have really liked them all! Haven't tried much of the mineral collection, I'll have to do that soon!

  4. I've orderd from ELF a few times, and the things I like the most are the makeup brushes, facial blotting sheets, and superglossy lip shine in "pink kiss." The mascaras I tried weren't good (but this was a long time ago, so they may be improved their forumla by now). I wasn't a fan of the shimmering facial whip (too difficult to apply without feeling as though I was pulling on my skin), and the nail polish removing pads were really greasy and not so great, either. I feel okay trying things, though, because they're so inexpensive!

  5. I got an elf set right after christmas so it was on sale. It came with eye liner, eye lash curler, mascara, and eye shadow for around $3. I loved the eye liner and the curler. the eye shadow was too sparkely for my taste and the mascara i didnt like but $3 for eye liner and a curler? cant beat that!

  6. I get pretty much everything from e.l.f. because I'm a college student on a SUPER tight budget. I love their nail polish selection (though it tends to sell out pretty quickly), and their liquid lipsticks are my favorite. Also, my eye makeup was always wearing off, so I got their eyelid primer and it's amazing! And only a dollar! Definitely a huge e.l.f. fan.

  8. I've tried their products, with mixed results. The mineral makeup is terrible. But i us Bare Minerals, so maybe it's an unfair comparison? I like the brushes a lot though, they stand up well. Also, nail polishes are good.

Oh, after reading all the positive reviews/comments I so want to try the elf primer {I have been looking for a primer, but do not know what to get} but they do not sell it in Australia/on the elf Australia website.

Nor do they sell any of the nail polishes. I am totally gutted now. : (

  18. Wow, thank you for the suggestion! I've heard of ELF products before and about how inexpensive they are, but have not really tried it. I just placed an order and it's so cheap! It actually benefited me to go with the free shipping moreso than the buy one get one 1/2 off, but still, I'm so excited to try these products out!

  19. ELF is awesome! I didn't realise you had it the US. I have never seen it in a shop over here in the UK but have ordered a lot off their UK online site. So cheap and great, although their concealer made my face swell up and go all blotchy and sting - not a great reaction!

  20. I love ELF. I got two "books", one smokey eyes and one neutral eyes around Christmas, and everytime I use them, I get so many compliments.

  26. I've been using Elf for the past 2 years and they are absolutely amazing. They totally worth the price (if you order online 'cause over here in Europe they are a bit overpriced) and I'd suggest that u try the brushes as well :)

  27. I use ELF liquid eyeliner exclusively. It's amazing, and it comes in a variety of different colors, which I love. I've never worn lipstick, but I'm thinking of trying a coral for this summer. Definetly about to go place another order. :)

  28. Hi! I am also a big fan of makeup and love my MAC fluidline. However, my hairdresser pointed me in the direction of Maybelline Line Stiletto liner and I was hooked! I bought two back-ups via drugstore.com in case I run out, plus it was so affordable!

Another great Target resource is Sonia Kashuk brushes. I bought the bent liner brush (for my MAC fluidline) and liked it even better than my MAC brush. Yeah, I really like eyeliners... !!!

  29. I purchased a three pack of eyeshadow from Target around Christmas. I figured for such a small amount of money, it was worth a try. I am so so SO happy with it! For being so cheap, I figured it either wouldn't show up or I wouldn't be able to scrub it off. It's perfect and I didn't think to check for a website, so thanks!!! <3
