You'll have to excuse the radio silence on this little blog the past few days. Seems like that little sickness Mike had turned out to be a little bit more than serious and he graciously passed it on to me. It hit me like a ton of bricks on my way home from a little coffee date with Maya and not 10 minutes after I was home I was crashed out on the couch in my pjs. I've been here since then, too. Only getting up long enough to take a sad excuse for a shower and to move to the bed. Friday was pretty much the worst day of my life. I haven't been this sick in a long time so it was all I could do to force myself to sleep as much as possible. Needless to say I missed another full weekend of work and that makes me a little less than stoked. Mike has been taking good care of me though, so he's a saint. Popsicles and seasons galore of Weeds and Sons of Anarchy have been keeping me good company. I had a sponsored giveaway that should have gone up yesterday so be on the lookout for that soon. I'm still far from 100% but these photos from a few weeks ago will have to do for now! I'm ready to be back and in action, even if that means taking it easy again today in hopes of making it off the couch by Monday haha
This outfit is a bit of a silly one. This cardigan is one of those cheapo one-size China imports via Ebay. I got it and it smelled of straight chemical factory. A few good washes and it's not so bad, though I realize it's not the most flattering. The dress is the same one I wore for Easter last year, and I can't help but pair it with harder solids like black and metal. The shoes are a new pair of Jeffrey Campbells that I got for Christmas and absolutely love (+ they're currently on sale). They have a very "Ska" style to them but the western style buckles made me swoon. They're so comfortable, too!
Not much to say around these parts except I can't wait to take a good long shower, put some makeup on and get dressed like normal. In reality that probably means getting dolled up to sit at my computer and churn out some design work. Three days of pjs and sweatshirts really does a number on a girl! Oh -- and I got some incredible new shoes via the mail + our Chicago trip so I can't wait to dress those up, too! Happy Sunday xo

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well! :( I've been stomach-y sick lately, so I can kinda understand. It's been about a year since I had the flu though and I certainly hope I don't end up getting one. >.< I hate being sick!!!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, okay?!
Also, I looooooove that sweater!!!
I'm sorry you're sick. That's no fun. :(
ReplyDeleteAwwhh, I checked back a lot and nothing! Devo, I do remember you saying a looot of posts/maybe years back you only leave 2 days between posts unless something big happens. I do sincerely hope you get better ASAP, lots of vit c! Vit C and garlic tableta and supplement-yourself-up! OVERDOSE on vit c, it got me over the worst winter-cold-epidemic of my life!! I had to go to the doc and get it injected into my arm tho. Hopefully you don't come to that.
ReplyDeleteI have a very similar cardi :P and yeah, they smell blasted dont they? But too cute to send back... so I washed mine three times then when that didn't work I soaked it in pure fabric softener for twenty four hours. It smells lovely now!!
Wishing you the best to get better ASAP, I missed your little updates on life and the honeybean and all that jazz! Try and keep on sleeping, get lots of sunlight (oh wait, is it winter there?? Either way, try to soak up the sun!) and vit c is your friend. Make sure to get lots of sanitiser too so you don't spread. Get better asap Kaelah!
xx

I don't mean to be rude (reason I posted as anon) because I really like your blog, but I've been wanting to say this for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfits and I think you're a great person but something has been nagging at me. You constantly wear the same black tights and when you label them, they're always different labels. One day they'll be HUE tights, one day Target, and today? They're foot traffic tights.
And I understand, sometimes with black tights it's hard to remember where you got which ones from since they all look the same, but these tights have the same hole on the upper right thigh. Sometimes you fill it in black, but other times it slips past you in the same post.
Why all the pretense of having tons of black tights from different when you're clearly wearing the same ones?
@anonymous: haha that's a very valid point! i actually always wear 2 pairs of black tights unless they're assets or we love colors, and i never notate that they're 2 different pairs anymore. both my target and foot traffic tights have holes in the legs (i'm far from graceful), but sometimes i layer them on top and sometimes they're on the bottom, depending on when i do laundry! and sometimes i probably just label them wrong because it's been weeks since i shot these :) when it's all said and done, i have many brands of black tights i wear, and i can't 100% say for certain exactly which ones they are! :P i edit the photos the same day they're shot so i often have a backlog of 1-3 weeks in a folder on my desktop. i'm not exactly an efficient blogger either! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never commented on any of your posts before, but I absolutely HAD to comment on this one. I never wear florals because I think they're way too girly, but this outfit is amazing!! I'm definitely going to try and recreate it myself. :)

ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! I love the mix of the girly, feminine dress with the bold shoes and cardigan! <3 So pretty.
