Normally I love Mondays. There's usually just something about getting back in the groove after avoiding the office all weekend. I find it refreshing and usually very productive. This Monday is not like all other Mondays. For some reason I've been dreading the start of this week like the plague. It's probably just because I have a laundry list of things to do today, and little motivation. But rather than sulk about it all day, I'm going to try and turn it into something much more positive.
This is one of my favorite pins on my "Wise Words" pinboard and I wanted to share it. I'm totally one of those people who love cheesy, motivational quotes and posters. Maybe not the super cliche ones, but whatever, I'll still pin them haha! Lately I've been trying to remind myself that any time I feel down in the dumps, I can usually at least make the situation a little more enjoyable by finding the positivity. It's been a while since I've practiced my daily affirmations in positivity, so maybe I should start back. (Though I totally understand how side-eye worthy that sounds haha!)
So now I want to ask you: What's the best/most motivating quote you've come across lately? Let's all share the wealth! Surely I'm not the only one that needs a gentle push on Monday mornings, right? ;)

"Working on the right things is probably more important than working hard" Not sure why I find that inspiring. Maybe a motivation to cut out the extraneous, the bullshit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote!! Good for starting out this Monday!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the quote that has struck me as the "TRUEST THING EVER" lately is just "I am not a morning person", so... I probably can't be of any help there.
ReplyDeleteI usually find to-do lists sort of overwhelming if they're longer than like four things. So I do to-do lists in groups of four.
I actually just posted a motivational quote for today- you're welcome to check it out! but this quote is quite wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteHave an awesome Monday!
I love cheesy motivational quotes too. I've actually printed a few from Pinterest and posted them around my office at work. Mondays are always rough for me, though I do try hard to be thankful for my job and another day on this planet! I keep thinking that a stable morning routine (wake up a few hours early - have coffee, do yoga, whatever..) would make it better .. but every day I crawl out of bed with barely enough time to get dressed and out the door. One day I'll get it figured out! Until then, cheesy quotes will get me through. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite at the moment has to be, "You've got the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce."
ReplyDeleteIf she can get so much stuff done, I could at least vacuum my carpet, haha.

Great post :) For some reason, I find it really hard for me to find motivation... The quotes didn't help me either. I have no goals, I wake up late but there's a good thing: I never procrastinate! I'm a "do it now or never" type of person, I guess ahah!
ReplyDeleteThe two quotes that seem to be a the forefront of my mind these days are "Don't should on yourself" and "The more you know in you head, the less you have to carry on your back".
ReplyDeleteNot a motivational quote but the quote that's getting me through lately is 'fake it until you make it'. I don't actually know if I made it up or if it's a real quote... but it's working for me so I'm going to stick with it ;)
ReplyDeletei love quotes! i normally don't have them this ready, but when i was having a rough time last month i gathered up some of my favorites so i could read them everyday. so since i literally have them on my desktop waiting for you to as, here's my lil list:
ReplyDelete“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines." -Leroy Satchel Paige
“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
“It doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop.” – Confucius
"Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the LIGHT" -Albus Dumbledore-
"Life does not accommodate you, it shatters you. It is meant to, and it couldn't do it better. Every seed destroys its container or else there would be no fruition." -Florida Scott-Maxwell
“February is the shortest month of the year, so if you are having a miserable month, try to schedule it for February.” -Lemony Snicket
Anyway, I hope you feel the motivation soon! Love you, dear friend!
Oh I love to collect motivational quotes too! I have an entire board on Pinterest called 'Wise Words': http://www.pinterest.com/gemblina/wise-words :)
ReplyDeleteI find Mondays very hard! So I always enjoy little reminders like this on days when I'm feeling a bit down. A quote I read recently that really resonated with me was "Seek to be worth knowing rather than being well known"

Love this quote! I'm always pinning motivational quotes. I just love them! My favorite one lately is'Do it with passion or not at all,' which reminds me that I don't have to be super crazy talented in 20 different thing as long as I'm passionate in the things I do enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's good to admit that we aren't positively peppy all the time. We always need a little motivation. I have been wearing a bracelet for years with the words "Thoughts become things, choose the good ones." It keeps me motivated and when my mind starts wandering down negativity road, I just look down at my bracelet.
