Yesterday Mike and I went for a date day after we returned from seeing my family out of town. We had originally wanted to go see Bridesmaids on Friday but we knew that we didn't want to fight the Sold Out lines so we opted to wait until Sunday. We also decided to branch out and try a new restaurant here in Nashville. We've only been here 6 weeks but that's enough time for us to find our routine and get a little stuck. Instead, we've decided to venture to places we haven't been to give all you honeybees a look at life in Nashville! (And I know some of you live here in Nashville... let a girl know! Let's grab coffee or chit chat or something! Seriously. I'm awkward and shy so this is rare! ha)
Anyway, we decided on Taco Mamacita in Edgehill Village, just half a block down from where I get tattooed. We've seen it tons but never dipped in for a bite but we're glad we did because it was delicious! Mike and I both had the Enchiladas Suizas, his with tomatillo sauce and mine with salsa. He also opted for green chile rice and I went a totally unexpected route for myself, sweet potato fries. Pretty sure it was some of the best food I've eaten so kudos to Taco Mamacita!
The whole interior of TM is really neat. Reclaimed wooden doors holding various light fixtures from the ceiling, old cow bells that would make Christopher Walken jealous, and an industrious open space that makes us feel right at home. (Since moving into this loft, I've become obsessed with exposed brick and rafters/pipes! Love!) It's definitely worth a visit if you live in Nashville or are visiting!
Marshalls dress, Forever 21 cardigan, Thrifted belt, Thrifted flats, Michael Kors Gansevoort bag gifted from Mike, hive+honey lace fascinator, Shane Co. green sapphire necklace gifted from parents
We walked back to the car and set sail for the 100 Oaks area so we could go see our movie at the Regal 27. It's such a neat movie theater. Kind of over the top on the outside as you drive by. The entire thing is outlined in neon. You definitely can't miss it! We were really excited to see Bridesmaids because I love love love Kristin Wiig and Maya Rudolph. But I have to admit, Melissa McCarthy was totally the cherry on top of that movie masterpiece! If you haven't seen it, it comes highly recommended from the both of us. When does Judd Apatow ever do wrong?!
Have you seen Bridesmaids yet? or have you ever been to Taco Mamacita?

Oh my lemon pie, I am seriously now craving mexican food like nobody's business! haha! That food looks amazing and so does the restaurant. ♥
ReplyDeleteI want to see that movie so bad! I'm glad to hear you both liked it. I was afraid it would be too much of a chick flick, but maybe I can convince Rhett to go.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Taco Mamacita, but I'm definitely trying it out next time I'm in town. Your pictures were making my mouth water!
You just made me super hungry after those pics of taco mamacita. Never been to Nashville but if I ever go I won't miss this restaurant. I'd love to try Mexican food out of Texas, where it's not really Mexican but TexMex.
ReplyDeleteXo.
I haven't even heard of Bridesmaids. I'll have to get on youtube and watch the trailer now. I really like mexican food so Jonathan and I will definitely check it out when we are out that way. And we'd love to hang out. That movie theater is a great place to go but I haven't been to 100 Oaks in a while!

ReplyDeleteI do wish i lived in Nashville.. unfortunately i live on the other side of the world from you, otherwise we could def. go for coffee!:D
ReplyDeleteIt's 9 am here and you've made me want an enchilada right now. Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteAlso, loving the Christopher Walken reference (needs more cow bell!). Awesome :)
I had Taco Mamacita while I was in Chattanooga last weekend! I loved the decor, but wasn't such a big fan of the food (I had tacos but your enchiladas look yummy!).
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally want to see Bridesmaids - I'll definitely have to check it out!
Wow that food looks delicious!! The actual restaurant itself looks amazing as well!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Jazmyn♥
I was supposed to see Bridesmaids yesterday, but the friend I was going with won a trip to Napa! So jealous but so happy for her. We're going to try again this week.

I saw Bridesmaids on Saturday... LOVED it! It was so so funny! <3
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Taco Mamacita yet, but I've heard such great things about it! There are just too many amazing restaurants here in Nashville, I forget about some of them.
ReplyDeleteBack when I lived nearer to London, there were SUPER nice Mexican restaurants. Now that I live in Scotland, there isn't really. So jealous of the restaurant in the post, hahah! Mexican food is my favourite :)
ReplyDeleteBut my favourite thing about this post by far is that gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, beautiful, gorgeous Marshalls dress! :3

My fiance and I have yet to find a Mexican place we really like here in Clarksville. We don't make it to Nashville all that often, but based on this post, Taco Mamacita looks like a place we'll have to go next time around; probably in the next couple of weeks. We hit up a delicatessen style diner called Noshville last time and the food was amazing. I'm not a tomato fan, but the pickled green tomatoes were pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to hearing about other totally awesome things to do and places to go for our Nashville visits. :)
When I lived down there, I lived in Hendersonville (north of Nashville) and I didn't explore downtown as much as I wish I had. :-/ I always loved the neon on that theater when I drove by it though! SO fun!
ReplyDeletei think i have to come down just for that food lol
ReplyDeleteSaw it this weekend and LOVED it. It was an over-dramatized version of some of the things I'm going through now as a bridesmaid hahaha. That looks like an awesome restaurant too! I'd love to get down to Nashville again--I was there several years ago but I think I would appreciate it so much more now!
ReplyDeletei have actually never been to that part of nashville, i'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeletei love that regal, i can never resist taking photos of it when i leave. i want to see bridesmaids so bad! maybe i can get my husband to go with me tonight!
I'm in Nashville!!
ReplyDeleteNever ben to TM, but it sounds delicious.
Omg I love Mexican food. Is it wierd for me to say that y'alls food looks seriously good? I want to see bridesmaids
ReplyDeletecute! and wow that food look sooooo yummy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Nashville 20 days outta a month! Taco Mamacita is seriously one of my favorite places to eat. Where do you get your tattoos done? I'm asking because I get mine at Black 13; hence, being up there so much. I would be so fun to meet you! you seem like such a sweet little lady.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Taco Mamacita, but I have heard nothing but good things about it. Now I know we need to go!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get your tattoos done? I'm semi new to town and am looking for a place to go in Nashville. I pretty much only get tattooed by places that have been recommended to me. Since there are so many. And you never know what it's going to be like. I have heard just too many horror stories.
I want everything you did that day. Enchiladas, sweet potato fries, and Bridesmaids. Sounds like such a fun time! I'm stuck watching hockey with my man like the cliched Canadian that I am.
ReplyDeleteAs a big fan of bright lights and kitsch, I think your local Regal totally rules. Thanks for sharing photos!
