Behind the Scenes: Laundry Day

Not all that exciting, but still fun. Mike and I like to make every seemingly tedious task into a fun date day adventure. Yes, even trips to the laundromat! When we first moved into our loft we toyed with the idea of getting a washer + dryer but the only "closet" space in the loft was calling to our pantry and craft storage. We figured a 2-mile jaunt down the road to wash some clothes every so often wasn't that big of a deal and so it goes! We've made it into a little game where we go to a different laundromat every time. Getting to know the city by the state of their available detergents? Why not! It's the little things...

  2. That kinda does look like fun; doing laundry in the dorms is kind of a chore. :/

  3. This is so incredibly sweet! I used to love going to the laundry mat - the only part I hated was walked there - drama of big city life without a car!

One time I saw the lead singer of SLOAN doing his laundry there too - I was so stoked!

  4. I am all about laundromats. I used to rent a house here in Denver that had some fancy European washer/dryer in one and it took forever and held like 3 shirts. So I always went to the laundromat instead and I had some hilarious and crazy experiences! I kinda miss it. : ) I could seriously write a book about all the people Ive met at those places. LOL Now theres an idea!

  5. I didn't mind when I used to go to a laundromat either- I'd walk around, read, or just sit outside the door in a chair and people watch for a few hours! I still love the smell of passing by a laundromat :)

  6. I go to the laundromat every 2 weeks and I use it as time to read! I don't sit inside because there are giant tvs blasting spanish tv. I just sit in my car and read while I wait for the washer and dryer to finish!

  12. Going to the laundromat gets expensive though. Sometimes it can cost $50+ just to wash a couple weeks worth of clothes. :(

  14. We have a washer and dryer but our washer is on the fritz so we're probably going to have to go to the laundromat soon but it's okay because I like it! Last time I was in one,a guy handed me a book about the end of the world >_> but anyway, hope you have a great day! :)

  23. What an awesome idea and outlook on daily life! The hubby and I are pretty good at making dates out of just about everything... Laundry has never been a date for us, perhaps it's time to change that! Haha!
