Landlocked in Tennessee

This little building is our home. As I've said before, we live in the smaller of the two Marathon Motors buildings in Nashville. Ours is called "The Foundry"... and to me it almost makes it seem like we live in a little commune of sort. Not the weird kind, but the artsy fartsy kind. It seems that everyone that lives in this building has a certain artistic passion. One gal paints, one is in school for graphic design, one is a guitar tech for Robert Plant, one builds custom violins and the like, one makes mosaics, etc etc. And there's even a doctor! That's artistic in itself, right? Somehow. I really feel like we "fit in" in our surroundings for once. Running around the building taking photos of each other isn't looked at in an odd manner anymore. I think it's important to feel comfortable in your surroundings and I'm happy to say that I think we've found ours! For now at least...

I warned you yesterday that I had another nautical outfit coming. This is a dress I snagged from Forever 21 the other day (I know! Surprisingly adorable for F21, and decent quality to boot!) The peter pan collar got my attention and then the white band at the bottom solidified the deal. Not to mention those pearly little buttons! I'll have fun styling it up different ways I know. It was much too windy yesterday to go sans tights so here I am in my funeral tights glory! I'm also still in love with this H&M cardi. I love to pair it with everything!

Yesterday was a low-key day but we made lunch at home (mmm, sweet potato fries!) and then went out for Sweet CeCe's together. Pomegranate Raspberry sorbet is my favorite! Then I sucked down 80-some-odd ounces of water during the day to prepare for hot yoga last night. It felt SO good to be there. I sweated like mad but I felt like a million bucks afterward. Definitely looking forward to it tonight again!

Right now I'm about to get dressed (yikes! I'm in a rush!) and go down to Spring Hill to meet up with my friend Shannon who is back home visiting from Baltimore. I haven't seen her in ages so it'll be good! To everyone worrying about where Wedding Wednesday has gone, just stick with me! I know it's been a few weeks since I posted and I promise to be back to the normal wedding-y self soon! I have LOTS of fab content lined up for it but life is getting in the way at the moment! I'd rather look back on fun filled days with friends as opposed to just churning out wedding content! There will always be time for that, I promise! It'll hopefully be back next week and we'll rock out some awesome nuptials in June! Happy Wednesday, y'all! xo

  1. I hadn't gone to Forever 21 in AGES, but my friend and I went there on a whim last week and I also found the cutest dress. I'll probably wear it next week. It's surprising to find things there once in a while.

  4. Okay... now this all makes sense... I have followed your blog for awhile now- and I saw this girl the other day that I thought could be your identical twin. But now that I see you live in Nashville it all makes sense! It must have been you! (I live in Nashville, as well.) Did you just graduate from O'More? I went there for fashion design for awhile.

Your outfit is adorable (as always!).

  8. I was going to get that dress to wear to Elsie's wedding, but by the time I went shopping, I couldn't find it in our store, and it was too late to order it online!

  9. I really like that cardigan. I'm kind of glad I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get to an H&M. I'd be broke if we had one closer.

  17. I clearly need to get myself to Forever 21, I haven't been in ages. You rock the nautical theme so no complaints here. :3

On windy days do you only wear tights or do you also wear shorts underneath? I'm totally terrified of having my dress fly up, it's happened numerous times already, ugh. Looking for ideas to somewhat fix the problem of wind!

Aaaaand, I'm envious of your commune-building/neighbors. It would be lovely to have more in common with mine!

  27. Your sailor dress is so adorable! Forever 21 must be pumping those out lately, because I picked up two super cute nautical-inspired dresses just a week or so ago. I'm pretty excited that there's so much nautical stuff going on because I have a small obsession with it.
