Wedding Wednesday!

** DISCLAIMER: heh, before anyone makes me feel like a dummy, I just realized that it's Tuesday. Oh well! Wedding Wednesday Tuesday Edition! haha This whole "not being in school and not having a 'real' job" thing has made my calendar all sorts of crazy. I think I'm just excited for Christmas! **

Hooray Weddings! I've been overwhelmed at the awesome response to last week's post announcing that I'll be taking Wedding Wednesday submissions! I've received many awesome awesome emails, and I can't wait to share them with you! I will hopefully start sharing the reader-weddings after the first of the year! [So I can have time to interview the way I need to! Brides that have already emailed me, be on the lookout for an email interview so I can keep it handy!] I won't be sharing reader weddings every week simply because there are so many other weddings and photographers I want to share with you, too! Even DIYs and mood boards... it'll be no-holds-barred from here on out! [Feel free to send awesome links or photographers my way! Please!]

This first set is by the photographer Clayton Austin. This traditionally isn't the type of wedding I would share, and the colors are far from what I invision at my own nuptials, but you can't deny that they're beautiful!

I can't wait until next week to spoil you with tons of photos from another one of my favorite wedding photographers!

Now the Weekly Wedding Question: What kind of centerpieces would you like [or did you have] for your wedding? Are you a large and elaborate type of person, or do you think a small vase of flowers or candles would do the trick?

My opinion: I thought I wanted something big and eye-catching, but then I realized it would just take away from the intimacy of the table. I want guests to be able to chit chat and socialize with one another so something small like a jar of flowers, old books or a camera and a table number would suit me just fine!

Until next week! Love love and wedding vows xo

  1. We had a large reception, so there were 4 different center piece types all mixed together. The ones I chose were very simple, like bubble bowls with willow branches wrapped inside with a light at the bottom or 2 calla lilies down in a tall cylinder vase. The ones my mother chose were tall and elaborate (although skinny-tall so guests views of each other across the table weren't blocked) the combination of the simple and the elaborate actually worked very well.

  3. these are gorgeous! centerpieces. . .well I had a woman I've known since I was about 5 offer to make my centerpieces. She took Terra Cotta pots and made beautiful ribbon decorations around the pots. Then she took fake flowers (they were white and I am not sure what of but they were like dogwoods to me which I LOVE. They were nice. My mom still has one at her house. haha. She also made a beautiful bird cage decoration to put all the cards inside. I loved that the most.

  4. I've seen a few weddings where people have goldfish in bowls as centerpieces. I'm sort of against it, because the fish will get freaked out and then what do you do with them all after? But if you had floating flowers in water (coloured lillies) and those glass pebble things in the bottom in colours of your choice, I think that'd make a cute centerpiece for a table.

  5. we are getting married in sept. mine is all thrifted and diy! my center pieces are mason jars with glass beads in the bottom and a battery operated tea light with tulle tied around the top of the jar. they are so sweet. also in the center pieces we half some milk glass with paper flowers and some muffins tins with old style candies.... I cant wait to share my wedding here once its done!
p.s. my favorite part so far is my vintage suitcase that will be my card box!

  6. I'm not married yet so I love thinking of how my future nuptials would be. If I had to choose a centerpiece it would probably be something small with maybe a cute table number and a few flowers. Not exactly sure but I know it will be fabulous!

  7. We had decorative bowls filled with Jelly Bellys, red licorice and lollipops. They were a hit with everyone, especially the kids! Our wedding was completely flower free so they really worked for us!

  8. Beautiful photographs! I eloped so I didn't get to do anything fancy, but if I had it to do over again I would do small-ish centerpieces that were full of fresh wildflowers. Maybe even sunflowers, because they're my favorite flower!
