Wedding Wednesday!

()
Everything about this is absolutely perfect. I love the usage of a shrug with her wedding dress. It brings it back down to a bit of casual. The table centerpieces are fabulously coordinated and the groomsmen look positively wonderful. The lovely bride makes me miss my dark chestnut hair, too!

You can actually see more of this wedding by visiting photographer Jill Thomas' blog and CLICKING HERE. I'm in awe of Jill's ability to capture the slightest of moments that really make a story. She shoots with an array of equipment like holgas, polaroids, and other film variations. Can I say I have a new favorite wedding photographer? I'll be watching her work from here on out, that's for sure!

Amazingly styled inspiration shoot hailing from Tennessee's own Knoxville. I'm in love with the shabby chic details and homage to the south with the cotton bouquets!

--------------

I thought I'd take a second to address something left in my FormSpring a bit ago. Last week maybe? Someone had asked why I feature weddings from other sources rather than ask my readers to submit their own... well, the answer is simple: time. I don't have time to wade through a plethora of wonderful wedding emails and even if I did, I'd find it far too hard to pick from them. While I think this is a wonderful idea, and hope that I can do it at some point in the future, I simply lack the time to poll potential features and do it that way.

Someone else went as far as to say that it's "annoying" how I do weekly features instead of updating about my personal life everyday. While I do enjoy doing personal entries, I do not feel like my blog would benefit from having solely me in the spotlight. That was never my intention for this blog and it never will be. If you do not like the weekly features, feel free to skim over them and only read what interests you (afterall, that is your right). However, my features will not stop any time in the near future and I am not always out doing lavish, exciting things. I don't want to update my blog with "well, I sat in my room all day today. I watched a few things on tv. Then I took a shower." That's just boring!

With that being said, here is the Weekly Wedding Question! Will you (or did you) have all of your bridesmaids wear  matching dresses and shoes? Hair and makeup? Or are you more a fan of individual looks in the same realm/style?

My answer: I'd like my bridesmaids to ideally wear different dresses, but all in the same color scheme. This goes for shoes as well. I like the personality!

xoxo

  2. Love, love, love your weddings feature...well actually, I love reading your whole blog. Anyways, my bridesmaids had matching dresses with different hair and makeup. That was 6 years ago and I would most likely do things different now, but I loved how everything turned out. I drew my inspiration from Audrey Hepburn and it ended up being very old Hollywood and classic.

  4. I'm a new follower and a first time commenter, but so far, I really enjoy your features =]

I'd want all of my bridesmaids to wear the same colour but different dress designs so that they can all have something that suits them. All of my friends are different shapes and sizes so any attempt at uniformity wouldn't work anyway!

  9. My bridesmaids wore different dresses.
Well, my maid of honor did.
I only had two other bridesmaids, my sisters.
Those two wore the same dress.
Their's were a light grey top w/ a dark grey bottom.
And the top had some frills.
My MOH's dress was grey and light blue w/frills on the top in a different direction.
It looked super cute together! And I was so happy that it flowed without being too matchy.
    :)

  10. Mine all wore the same color and fabric but picked the style, shoes, make-up, and hair. It still coordinated but everyone got to be comfortable and show their own personality.

  11. Too young to be married right now but I enjoy reading my fair share of wedding blogs. My favourite thing I've seen so far is the same style dress on everyone but all different solid colours (within a certain palette like one blue, one yellow, one pink etc.) and then have the MoH wear the same style dress but in a patterned fabric that included all those colours ;) Something really light and summery of course.

  17. I honestly look forward to your wedding Wednesday posts every week! Looking at these photos always lead me to looking at dresses & rings & all sorts of things that I really shouldn't be worrying about just yet considering I'm not even engaged! Still fun nonetheless, so thank-you!

  18. I really want a beach wedding & would prefer something like bare feet because it's simpler, you know? But really, I don't care about the shoes. As for dresses, I think they should be the same dresses but in different colors. I think that'll be rad.

  20. I LOVE seeing all the different images and getting ideas to tweak and adapt for my own photography.

I had different shoes to my bridesmaids - they were given the instruction that they needed to be smart and go with the dress then off they went to get their own shoes - it was easier than trying to get everyone to match and things like that. I had white ballet pumps. I didn't want to wear heels and be uncomfy all day (I was still a little uncomfy but once we got to the reception I took my shoes off and ran around hiding my feet with my dress lol.

I wanted to wear lilac converses but I wasn't allowed lol.

My bridesmaids had matching dresses. They were all around the same age ish the eldest was 19 and the youngest was 13 at the time.
