Red Stripe + Blue

It's been a couple of weeks since I've actually shot any outfit photos, so Mike and I have been venturing out to the park to shoot a few just right before we take Toby to the playground. It's the perfect way to wind down the day and we always get to shoot them during the "golden hour". That way Toby can play at the park until it gets dark and he's much less likely to get dragged out kicking and screaming when we tell him it's time to go home. (He totally rationalizes it being too dark to play, but he hates to leave his friends.) Anyway, I decided to show the brown hair in all it's glory -- except it's still flat, dull and straight. I can't style my hair the same day I wash/dry it so here's my limp hair haha! It still hasn't completely settled into my new extensions that I sewed either, but that just takes a few days. I ended up curling my hair after we got home and I'm happy to be back to brunette. I think I might even do my own hair for the wedding, provided I go sans pink. Y'all, I'm seriously just terrified of someone screwing it up. I think that's a bit ridiculous.

This week has been kind of crazy with wedding crafts. I've glittered until 2am, hot glued my fingers plum off, and had Lauren + Lauren over for a crafty/wine night on Wednesday. Super grateful for those gals to come over and help (and teach!) me how to do some yarn pom poms, then wrap letters and do tissue paper poofs. Anyway -- I'm feeling pretty good about things... at least I was until I woke up and realized our DJ is still MIA and we don't have a bathroom situation sorted yet. Or a waiting area. Mexico is looking realllll good right now! It's so crazy to think the wedding is TWO WEEKS away from tomorrow! And we're having our wedding portraits done in JUST ONE WEEK! Someone pinch me! Is it a little bit sad I'm not even going to know what to do with my time once it's over? haha!

I'm a little bit in love with this outfit, as I am most anything red, white and blue. Polka dots and stripes totally go together, right?! The dress is from Kintage and it's such a fun lightweight dress. I snagged the bag at some random store in Madison a few weeks ago. It was only $8! I think this might also be the first time I've worn my red MIA Jukebox wedges in an outfit post, too. We shot another outfit this week of my black ones, so they'll make a debut, too :P

Today we're finishing up photos for our home tour (next week!) and we're heading down to the wedding farm to meet Mike's sister to chat about planning stuff. What would we do without sweet Maggie?! She's so organized and calm and collected. So tickled to have so many supportive people around! Wanna know something else awesome? Next weekend is my last weekend ever at the bar! I'm equal parts excited and terrified... We'll see how it goes I guess!

Happy Friday!

  7. Such a cute dress & outfit! I do like the brown, it'll be sweet once you style it up!

And I completely understand being worried that someone will screw up the style. I haven't decided if I'm going to do my own hair for mine or not, but at least I've still got months to decide... are you planning on doing your hair up or down?

  12. I had so much fun with you guys! I was seriously giggling about all the east side stories! Also, now I have a very strong desire to do a pom-pom garland around my house.

And if you need a DJ, let me know. Steve could probably do it for y'all :)
