You don’t have to get a job that makes others feel comfortable about what they perceive as your success. You don’t have to explain what you plan to do with your life. You don’t have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards. You don’t have to maintain an impeccable credit score. Anyone who expects you to do any of those things has no sense of history or economics or science or the arts. -- You have to pay your electric bill. You have to be kind. You have to give it all you got. You have to find people who love you truly and love them back with the same truth. But that’s all.” -Cheryl Strayed
//  DKNY stole 300 photo from a NYC based street photographer. It's pretty messed up.

// CAT LADIES! I compiled an awesome list of kitty-themed clothing + accessories (um because hey, why not?!) --> scarf // dress // watch // dress // platform boots // coin purse

// "If You Pick Your Nose, Your Eyeballs Will Fall Out" And Other Lies To Tell Children. Did your parents tell you anything ridiculous when you were little?

// Have you seen FLOTUS Michelle Obama doing the "Evolution of Mom Dancing" with Jimmy Fallon? Here are the gifs! SO good!

// Brothers of a Boston fraternity band together to help raise money for a transgender brother's female-to-male surgery. Probably not the first thing that might come to mind when you think of Greek life, but this just goes to show how wrong stereotypes can be. They exceeded their goal in record time, but all exceed funds will go to the Jim Collins Foundation!

// Legally Blonde was such a great movie. You go, girl!

// AHOY! Nautical pretties: this dress // this dress // this scarf // this necklace // [here are links to two dresses in my last Stitch Fix haul! navy racerback + ivory striped] //

// Procrastination Is Not Laziness. I had never heard this take on it. What do you think? (Better question: Are you a procrastinator?)

// Imagine an vending machine for books... printed before your very eyes. It's real! The Espresso Book Machine has access to over 500,000 books and prints books at a rate of over 100 pages per minute. Whoa!

// 16 bloggers from around the world will trade lives (and blogs!) for 10 days through the Big Blog Exchange. WHAT?! I'm totally signing up! This is the coolest thing, and of course there's a big picture belief: cultural awareness and appreciation can help save the world.

// Wishlist Wears: these sandals will be mine! (and i'll wear them non-stop! ps; they're only $25!) // these pink bow flats! and in mint, too! // pleated ivory dress perfect for spring // this blue polka dot frock! //

// I Can Lengthen My Words And So Can Youuuuuuuuuu. Guilty as charged. (and not proud).

// Foodie Finds: tomato asparagus salad // chocolate chip cookie dough brownie bombs (what?!) // corn + black bean stuffed peppers // cinnamon cream cheese coffee cake // soft pretzel bites

// I talked more about feeling on the brink of self discovery + a "new season" on my Jux today!

What are you loving this week?

  1. Anything to do with animals is always my favorite. :) But that otter would have my other half beaming - he loves them.
Hope you had a lovely 'National Polar Bear Day' yesterday!!

    - Danielle www.theSweetnessTalks.blogspot.com

  2. Aww! The little sloth is adorable! I've fallen in love with them recently due to gifs and photos like that. So cute!

  3. maaaaaaaaaan KB your blog is security blocked at work so i can't see any of the coooool stuff!

  4. Well, I certainly have my weekend planned out! I'm excited to go through all your suggestions.

    -Kim Love

  5. These are all beautiful & brilliant finds! My favourites have to be the otter playing basketball & the pinterest style photos which are so inspiringxx

  6. I love that Cheryl Strayed quote you included! It's so hard not to compare yourself to others (or have others compare you to other people) in today's society, and this is especially difficult if you have an "unconventional" career, etc. It's important to remember that only YOU can define your own success and fulfillment! Also.. that panda in the tree is TOO cute. :)

  7. The sloth, koalas, and otter are so adorable!

  8. What an inspiring story about the transgender frat brother. It's so good to hear that so many people are willing to help when there's such a stigma about transgenders not only in America but around the world. Will definitely be passing this story around. Thanks for sharing!

  9. Beautiful and adorable things to start off a day with! Thanks for the post :)

  10. That article on procrastination describes me perfectly. I certainly don't do it because I'm lazy, I do it out of fear. And I LOVE that quote from Cheryl Strayed. Those are things I need to remember!

    1. the procrastination piece was seriously my favorite read this week. it was so so insightful!

  11. You always have the sweetest animal pictures in these! What a way to start the day :). And I was crying a bucket of happy tears at this episode of Parks...Ron Swanson always gets me.

  12. I cried during this week's Parks and Rec too. I love Leslie and Ben and together. And Ron Swanson kicked ass with that punch!

  13. I love the collection of cat clothes!

  14. I would be SO okay with you changing TiLT to AiLT!! The sloth... omg so cute. If I saw this little guy in real life, I don't know how I could resist asking for him to pick 10 more flowers. haha!

  15. Aww the wedding episode of Parks and Rec got me too. :) Love that Cheryl Strayed quote it is something I need to be reminded of.

  16. OhMyGahhhhhhhhh. The CUTENESS! It kills me! The fraternity raising money to help their brother transition?! Be still my heart. I can't. I think I need to take a longer lunch break (shhh) to read and click every thing in this post today.

  17. I would add to that quote about jobs, "And if you don't end up doing something that anyone else perceives as 'creative' enough or 'meaningful' enough that's okay too." Can't tell you how many times I've been told, "I could NEVER have a job like yours where I hide my tattoos/piercings/have to dress up/whatever." Well, it's simple, I enjoy it and am challenged. People will always find ways to ways to feel superior, I guess, no matter what job you do :)

Also, that view reminds me a little of some of the views I see in NM. Gorgeous!

How are Adam Scott and Amy Poehler not a real-live couple? They have such AMAZING chemistry on that show.

  18. I KNOW THOSE FRATERNITY BROTHERS!!! I GO TO THAT SCHOOL!!! Oh gosh wow I never thought I would have this close of a tie to one of your TilT's - but yes! I know them! I am so shocked at how giant of a story this has become, and I am 300% behind Donnie and all of the other brothers I know. They truly are all some of the best people that are working in this school and I couldn't be happier to see them not only have success with the fundraising, but also the success they wanted to spread awareness and inform people about the transgender community. Sorry to ramble, I'm just really excited. :]]] love all of the other posts too, haha - especially the gifset of Michelle Obama!!!

    1. that is so great! you must be so proud! please give them all big hugs from the internet!

  19. I loved this post oh so much! Especially that quote by Cheryl Strayed. Such a true statement and something that we all need to remind ourselves everyday. There's also no such thing as too many cute animals!

  20. I just shared the Jezebel article about elongating words (Hilaaaaarious! But no, really.), and earlier this week, I had shared the story about the fraternity. I mean, how awesome is that? :)

  21. Coming to hang out with you would be a dream come true!!!!! Oh the fashion magic we would make!

  22. I included a "cat lady" section on my blog today too. LOL! I liked to Etsy stuff though. We have great taste! I love the Cat Clip Purse.

And yup... I am a major procrastinator. My avoidance comes from a place of perfectionism and needing all the details to get started. I am learning to just dive in and work it all out as a I go.

I love TiLT! I look forward to it every week. Thanks!
    Sarah Como

  23. oh my gosh...that pug is just adorable!

  24. Oh my gosh...that pug is adorable!

  25. Love the quote!!! I am a boutique, antique and curiosity shop owner as well as an online business owner. I know a few people that judge me because according to them my job is unconventional, or they call it a hobby.... I pay my bills with the money I make. My shop is my Job and my life. Thanks for sharing!!!

    XOXO Danielle

  26. Oh man, that episode of parks and rec had me all teary eyed too!
