She's Gone Country

I couldn't help but get super silly when naming this outfit post. I was uploading the pictures when "She's gone country" came into my head. You know the Alan Jackson song? Probably not. But it goes like this: "She's gone country, look at them boots. She's gone country, back to (look at) her roots." haha! I figured "look at" was more appropriate considering my hair is like 4 weeks un-dyed and all kinds of ridiculous. I'm in between hair stages right now so you'll see some interesting 'dos in the next few outfit posts. The weather in Nashville has been awful so we had to take several days' outfits in our hallway instead. Everything is sopping wet and chilly!

This dress was a sweet surprise from Miss Jen of Jen Loves Kev. She said she had a dress she was going to  list in her Shop My Closet but that it was perfect for me so she sent it along instead! I was tickled pink to open it up and see what it looked like. I've worn it a million and one times but this is the first time I've had a chance to shoot it. These boots are my new Beams from Blowfish! Oh my stars they are rocking my world. I have the issue of really big calves (thanks to like 14 years of softball) so I can't wear most of them. I ordered these on a whim hoping they'd work and luckily they did! I can wear them pulled all the way up to my knees or I can slouch them down some. They're so comfortable, too. I wore them the other night to work and my feet never got sore. Win! I've always had boot envy so I'm glad I can call these mine!

We've been hard at work on launching Honeybean's new online shoppe as well as restocking Hive + Honey so stay tuned! That's coming up real soon!

  1. You look gorgeous! I love country-ish outfits. :D Jen told me about She's Gone Country years ago and it's one of our all time favorite songs! ♥

BTW, I ordered a pair of Blowfish shoes for my birthday and they were kinda tight. Do you recommend buying a size up? I have a size ten (!!!) foot and I've noticed in heels I gotta try and go a wee bit higher. Like a 10.5 or 11! Anyway, just wanted to ask!!!

  2. @Angie: I have about 12 (!!!) pairs of Blowfish shoes and the only ones I've noticed that ran small were the Bicker booties. I tend to wear about an 8.5 though so I *always* order a 9. That could be a good observation on your part! They probably vary by each individual shoe, too!

  3. The look at them boots part came into my head, and then viola, I looked at your boots. Lovely! And the hallway shot is lovely too.

  7. Those boots are fantastic! It's nice to know us softball playing girls have a chance at owning cute boots too.

What I really love though is the lighting in these photos. It has such a great ambiance! Kudos to Mike :)

  8. Crazy enough, I was JUST shopping on Blowfish and having a debate with myself about those very same boots. But after seeing them on you and how cute you look in them, I am thinking about leaning TOWARD buying them! I love the way you've styled them. Sometimes it really helps to see them on a "real person".

  9. Aww you look so cute, I love the dress, you seriously have the best dresses. Those are great boots as well. I have big calves too and know how frustrating it can be to find a boot that fits, I miss when my legs were like sticks. Bah.

  18. Hehe, definitely know the song! And love it :) I really love the boots and dress paired together. Looks like a perfect outfit for a night in Tennessee. I'm excited to see what you will do with your hair next!

I've always wanted to dye my hair, but scared I don't have the energy for upkeep. Dying my hair every two weeks... not realistic for me lol.

  22. Before I even read your post, the title had me cracking up. I'm from East Tennessee (hello Appalachian Mtns and where people say "the Walmart" instead of the Main St. Walmart, you get the picture), so I'm very familiar with Mr. Jackson's song.
Also, I have the same issue with boots (I played volleyball for years) and it's super frustrating. I might have to check the Blowfish line since they seem to be more accommodating.

  46. Haha! I love that you know Alan Jackson songs. I totally started singing the song when I read your post title. I grew up on country so it has a soft place in my heart. New country is just....terrible. Most of the time.
But either way, you look adorable in your 'gone country outfit'.
