Mike and I shot these pictures out on the Natchez Trace last week (I think? Week before?). I'm losing all concept of time it seems. Not having a set/work week schedule can do that to ya! I wore this dress for my "23rd birthday" outfit and it hasn't seen the light of day since. Thought it was about time to pull it out of hiding, 7 months later, and show it some love. The third picture is just a silly one of me losing my balance. Mike can't help but take a handful of those each time it happens.
I really love black and brown together, so this outfit is a fun experiment in dark clothing for me. My black funeral tights are making their way back into my wardrobe so get ready for it! You'll probably be seeing black legs for the next couple of months! ;)
Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?!
Urban Outfitters dress
Target cardigan
Black tights c/o Foot Traffic
Very cute! I guess we don't see you in neutral colors all that often, but it's nice. I like the "off-balance" picture :) You look pretty graceful even when teetering!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice weekend! I'm going to an art auction...a first for me. It should be interesting! I get to wear a cocktail dress, which is always fun.
Love this look! That dress is to die for. Love the combination of black and brown :)

That dress is so awesome! I've always avoided brown because I never know what to wear it with (and creams/pale tones wash me out...) but brown and black look so great together! I don't know why I never thought of that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, those litas give you ~legzzzz fo' dayzzz, girl!
love the dress!! my sister always says that brown and black don't go together, but I love wearing them both together, hah! and this outfit just shows that these colors are a great macht :D
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, very cute and very fall feeling. And those shoes are beyond adorable! I really love your style, you never cease to amaze me!

You have such a lovely figure! I know this is a bit personal but what size are you in UK sizes just purely out of interest! If you don't want to answer I completely don't mind one bit just purely curious! :)xxx
ReplyDelete@cityscapes and romance: it depends completely on the dress. this is a US size 8 and it's actually big on me, but that's because i'm biggest in my hips. when i order from the UK i tend to play it safe with UK size 12-14, unless it's form-fitting on the hips! :) I try to stay away from those types of dresses anyway because goodness knows I don't need any help drawing attention there! :P
ReplyDeleteyour dress is so lovely!!

ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, I have nothing at all planned except relaxing with the husband. Our house guest of 1 month just left so we are really looking forward to some quiet time.
I love your outfit and I love the klutzy picture, you look so adorable. I'm a klutz myself, Klutz's for the falling/tripping win.

ReplyDeleteooh, such pretty fall colors! i feel like i'm used to seeing you in such brights and pastels... this looks great too :) x
ReplyDeleteI like the "off balance" picture and very cute outfit! :)
ReplyDeleteI love black and brown together too! I lose my balance so much it worries me, sometimes just standing still. I tried to take outfit photos in a tree awhile back and I almost fell out like 36 times. Good to know I'm not the only klutz :p

ReplyDeleteHi!

So I have a question for you about tights. I figure you are the person to ask since you wear them EVERYDAY. I have been trying to get into wearing tights more and it was awesome during the summer since I could go barelegged or wear my spandexy running capris under them, but I just cannot figure out how to get comfortable in tights!
ReplyDeleteAny advice? Are there certain brands? I feel like I am always tugging up on the waistband that is rolling down, or else they sag on the legs and I am pulling up at the ankles. I'm wondering if my body type is just destined to hate them (I am 5'6" and a size 14).
I'd love any insight at all. It is cold here and I miss my dresses!
Love your dress! & your hair! I'm debating on growing out my hair or keeping it short, and well these pictures is making me want to grow it out!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit, Kaelah.
ReplyDeleteLove it so much.
ReplyDeleteWow this dress is so so pretty! I adore the colours and pattern! You style dit so well, these shoes are amazing as well! I LOVE your style :)
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely crazy over your hair color! :)
ReplyDelete@Maren: the trick is to always buy them 1-2 sizes larger than it suggests! if you like to wear them in the summer, i highly recommend we love colors (welovecolors.com) they're kind of pricey but they are so stellar. they last forever, they don't sag or roll, they don't run, and they breathe enough you can wear them in hot weather (and they still stay opaque!). i also wear my foot traffic ones which are good! if i wear almost any other kind (walmart/target) then i buy them 2 sizes larger than it suggests and i double them up! (to keep warm + make them opaque). even if you're not plus size, buy them in plus size to minimize the roll! :D
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this colour palette on you, and the pic of you loosing balance is -so fun!! I'm usually loosing mine as well during outfit photos, hehe. Hope your weekend is absolutely lovely, lady!! xo veronika

I love this! Super cute dress, and I agree...the supposed rule about black and brown together is ludicrous. Just like the rule about wearing white after labor day, baha. You look lovely!
