Yep, that's right! Wedding Wednesday is back! Hopefully for the long haul this time! Many of you expressed interest in me bringing back this feature (that was always my favorite!) so I thought I'd finally bite the bullet and get to work! Blogger has a tendency to freak out when I try to post certain photos (I have no clue why!) but I'll buy some time with this week's WW focusing on a few "I do" related pins from my Pinterest board!
I get sucked into Pinterest like no other so I have to limit how often I go on there. It's been weeks since I've sat down for a while to actually browse but I'll get 15 minutes here or there. Below you'll find a wide array of things that are inspiring our big day next Autumn!
Can you believe that?! We've already been engaged for 5.5 months! We'll be narrowing down the actual date in the upcoming weeks! Then I'll be sharing my bridesmaids and how all of the planning starts rolling once we get started! A long engagement was important to us because we knew there were (and still are!) tons of things we want to do first. We don't want to rush anything and we're paying for it all ourselves so we wanted ample time to save, create/diy, and plan! And just enjoy being engaged! It's a wonderful time, that's for sure! Here are some inspiring bits! (All sources can be found on my "I do" board via Pinterest!)
I love the idea of scrapbook plates! So very sweet!
There has never been a more perfect reception! This is exactly what we have our hearts set on, so wish us luck!
I've been sort of obsessed with this ever since I saw it!
We want to have many different small one-tier cakes for our friends with different diets/tastes!
I know I said I really love the plates for a guestbook but I really love this, too! Maybe a little more!
This totally fits the rustic Southern vibe we're shooting for!
There will undoubtedly be fabric strip bunting!
So so so very in love with this sweet idea
Fun DIY party favors
There will definitely be old doors involved! We've already snagged up a few beauties!
110% considering wearing a blush colored cardigan on my wedding day. It's a tried and true staple of mine, but we'll see!
While pink is not a huge part of our wedding color scheme (we're opting for a more peachy pink hue!), I definitely want to have a lot of blush/pink accents. How perfect would cotton candy be?!
While I know it will be a lot of work, energy and stress putting together the perfect day, I know it will be absolutely amazing because I'm going to be marrying my best friend. The person I go to sleep next to every night and wake up with every morning. The one who sees me drop veggie burrito all over my new dress each and every time we venture to lunch. The one who lets me beat him in Mario Kart sometimes (just kidding. That's all me. Skill, baby!). I can't wait!
What do you think about these ideas?!
A sweet ol' Southern wedding, y'all!
OMG your blog is so precious! I absolutely love it!

the latest "trend" I'm in love with is the use of mason jars. Maybe full of cotton candy? :-)
ReplyDeleteyey!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first wedding Wednesday post that I've seen. All I have to say is,
KEEP 'EM COMING!
I love it! THANKS!
I like the multi-cakes idea. Cupcakes are great for that too. You could have a special cake for the cutting, and then several flavors of cupcakes to make it easier for everybody else.
ReplyDeletemakes me want to get married all over again!
ReplyDeleteA few of those remind me of my wedding! I am so happy Wedding Wednesdays is coming back!!!!
ReplyDeleteYay I'm happy its back. All these pictures are so great...we have similar tastes for sure. Those pink drinks with star stirrers- I DIE. I think it's time I start dropping hints to the beau so I can plan a wedding! ha!

SO many great ideas! I love love love the old doors. Your wedding is going to be so amazing. I think I would want a long engagement if my boyfriend and I lived together. I will probably want a short engagement though because I am SO SO SO ready to live together!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very dreamy and southern. I'd love to see some kind of accent with a little edge to really make the sweeter stuff pop. I'm sure all your hard work will pay off big on your important day.
ReplyDeleteThese are some amazing ideas. I love the color scheme, pink-peach with blush accents. The cotton candy would be precious. Sea Marie
ReplyDeleteThese are all fantastic. That reception photo is definitely 'perfect' in my mind too.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking forward to some more DIY ideas. I am not engaged (yet) but I know that I will be DIY loads of things.

ReplyDeleteYay i am glad Weding Wednesday is back. I have missed it.

One of my readers just directed me towards your blog for some wedding inspiration just in time for this wonderful post! I love pretty much all the gems you've found...the rustic outdoor reception is particularly pretty. Looking forward to watching the plans for your big day unfold and hopefully stealing some for my own one :)

I love it! I did a Southern chic picnic theme down to orange/yellow/pink gingham print runners over our white linens. Everything turned out perfect. Pink Lemonade is a perfect touch! We even had picnic blankets and pillows laid out for cocktail hour. I had so much fun on my wedding day and I know you will too. The key is to have many options so if one doesnt work out, you dont freak out. Lemme know if you wanna see any pictures of my Southern Theme. I have a ton! Some listed on the blog if you search wedding photography!
ReplyDelete@Heather: we've actually tossed around the idea of a picnic reception or cocktail hour! with picnic baskets and blankets galore! i might have to take a peek at yours!
ReplyDeleteOh my God, I'd absolutely DIE if i went to a wedding like this!!! It has such a sweet southern charm, it'd be perfect for the two of you!

your colors could be "blush and bashful" :) :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the doors. That is such a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what other inspiration you share.
Honestly, I love it all! I love the outdoor seating and the sign to sit where you want. It's SO the wedding I would pick now! My wedding was ruled by my parents and it was SO darn traditional. =) Please do it all!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I love the "Sit Wherever You Want." I hated having to figure all that out with our divorced families. The doors are also pretty badass. Good luck lady, enjoy planning because it goes by *so* fast.
ReplyDeleteSo glad WW is back!!! Ahh, you don't know how happy that makes me haha :D
ReplyDeleteI really can't believe you've been engaged for five and half months already, it seems like just last month you posted about the engagement! Your wedding is going to be so gorgeous, I'm happy and excited for you :]
Xx
I absolutely love that "sit wherever" sign! I didn't realize how I felt about the whole "bride's side" and "groom's side" until I saw that sign, but now I realize that I definitely want something like that at my wedding. It's a great idea.
ReplyDeletelove the cardi with the wedding dress! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever looked at Forrest Kline's (from Hellogoodbye) wedding? http://www.oncewed.com/31284/wedding-blog/real-weddings/fun-smog-shoppe-wedding/ It's so sweet. There's more photos on tumblr too.
ReplyDeleteVery cute ideas, that reception idea is so cute and I advocate more cake for any purposes.
ReplyDeleteI'm engaged too although we're not financially capable of planning a wedding anytime soon. Congrats sweetie, hope it is everything you want it to be and look forward to the pictures. I love your ideas and inspirations.

some of those ideas are precious. i *love* the cotton candy cart, and how sweet the bride looks in a cardigan. i love beautiful non-traditional weddings :)
ReplyDeletei love the whole wedding wednesday, planning a wedding myself, its nice to see what some else is thinking for their own wedding, i LOVE the idea of the polaroid pics, super sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour taste is amazing :)

Lovely inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel SO much better that someone else on this planet had a long engagement without setting a date. My fiance and I got engaged this past Memorial Day weekend, and people have been making us feel like something is wrong with us because we haven't set a date. We're just not ready, and we're enjoying being engaged for a while! Like you, we'll be paying for it by ourselves so we need time to save and plan, and I don't want a due-date looming over me if our savings aren't up to par in time!
This post has made me want a wedding day even though I am single!!! So many pretty ideas to inspire :)

Loving these! Those doors are beautiful.

This is the perfect set up for a wedding and is something I wish I could have done for mine since mine was so boring in comparison to most. ugh. I love these shots. Thanks for sharing and bringing this post back in!!
ReplyDeleteThese are such cute ideas! I am actually planning a wedding too and we seem to have similar taste! I love your "wedding wednesdays!" Thanks for the ideas!
