// Things I Love Thursday v.166

Happy Thursday! Hopefully your day is off to a great start! (If not, maybe this post will cheer you up!) Today was supposed to be Toby's first day back to school after Christmas break (well, yesterday was, but weather)... Mike got up, got him ready for school, had him all bundled up with his backpack on, getting ready to waltz out the door when I came bounding down the hall... "School is closed! Are you here?!" Phew. Apparently I slept through the phone call alerting me, but remembered that I woke up to rain (and rain in this cold of weather obviously means ice. Duh.) so I quickly Googled local school closings. Basically all of this is totally irrelevant but whatever haha. Let's hope I'm more put together for the rest of today! And let's hope I can actually get some work done in my office. Today needs to be a productive day! Anyway, here are my weekly picks... Enjoy!

// This is far more hilarious than it should be, I'm sure. But you have to read it. The caption below the conversation is everything!

// This lace collar necklace is currently on sale (and so cute!) - Don't forget you can save 10% with code clueless10 and you can win a $50 shop credit HERE!

// The "As You Wish" Red and Black Tribal Print dress is currently #1 on my lust list. It would look so cute with a big military jacket and infinity scarf, or paired with black ankle/motorcycle boots. Endless possibilities.

// I love me a good tweet to favorite, don't you? Sometimes I just lurk other people's favorites (complete strangers even) and hijack some to make them my own favorites. Anytime I need a chuckle or to reference back to an informative tweet, there they are! Carrie Anne took all the work out of it though... she's sharing her favorite "Follow Friday" tweets from 2013. These posts are a TREASURE TROVE! (One, Two, Three, Four)

// 14 f**ks I refuse to give in 2014. I really loved this post.

// Want to order some magnets or phone cases with your holiday Instagrams? Save $2 off a pack of 9 magnets, or $5 off any phone/iPad case from StickyGram with the code FRIEND0WS5.

// Unpopular Opinion: Please stop moving to New York. Yow. How do you feel about this? Is she acting entitled, or do you understand where she's coming from?

// Kyla went and did it again! This time with a Planner Camp ecourse! Create your own dreamy planner to fit your lifestyle. So stoked on this. It starts next week so enroll now if you're keen!

// 11 things adults should know how to do. What would you add to the list?

// Veronica has had a lot of exciting things happen lately! First off, she got MARRIED! (She looked gorgeous!) and she shared a really great "YOLO" post (Year Of Learning Overall). And just for kicks, she shared this hilarious post about funny signage in Mexico. I'm really loving the coffee shop one. A great way to encourage people to be polite to those in the service industry.

// 17 signs you graduated high school in 2004, 2005, or 2006. These are so spot on. (2006 here!)

// Would you ride a bike or jog just 4 feet away from an alligator? How about do a handstand that close to one? Roxy did. She's my hero.

// 10 cereals that leave behind the tastiest milk. Yep, a whole post dedicated to that.

What are you loving this week?

  3. I graduated in 2007, but most of the list still applies to me. Especially because the little sister of my friends is the barista at my usual Starbucks. Last time I saw her she was six.

  5. The warp speed dog gif totally needs the Dr. Who theme playing in the background. It makes me smile huge!!!

    Those embroidered animals are so sweet - I recently purchased a cute necklace like those for a friend for Christmas and I'm kicking myself for not ordering one for me too!!!

  6. Ahh I am so jealous of the "Polar Vortex" people getting work off or school off! Unfortunately we feel the Polar vortex temps for about 5 months of the winter! School are still open even at -40 here haha! I guess the city can't shut down for half the year!

  7. ugh the "Don't move to New York" article. I get it. I lived in DC for a time period and it's frustrating to struggle in a city and have people with more money getting to live so easily while you're struggling. But you know what, that's sorta life. It's not exclusive to New York City. So rather then say, "hey get out of my city!" she should be advocating for higher minimum wages and class warfare type things. Not to mention the whole, "Don't move to NYC but Queens is actually really awesome and you should want to move here." Make up your mind! Also, if people just stayed where they were born and never ever moved then there would be no New York City.

  10. Another great round up.

    Ugh, though about that New York article. I mean, I get it, gentrification is a thing, a real issue, but I'm not sure the answer is to be rude about people moving to a city. A lot of people move to NewYork City because there are jobs (well, let's face it, entire industries) that aren't in other places, or because they want to be part of a certain community or because they like where they moved to. Maybe it is because I come from a small town (as an aside, who cares if someone thinks your home turf is "the boonies." Heck, I've been literally told by people they didn't think Wyoming, where I lived, was a stated and that people lived there.) that I can understand the idea of someone not feeling like fit in in the small town and wanting to try New York. Thanks for the interesting link though!

  13. Those animal embroideries are adorable! The armadillo totally reminds me of the True Facts videos on YouTube (I just discovered them last night and the first one I saw was the armadillo). So inappropriate but funny.
