Friday morning our little family bundled up and headed over to a pumpkin patch a few counties away. Toby's entire Pre-K class was there (maybe the entire grade? At least several classes!) and you couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! It was super chilly at first, but the sky was totally clear and so blue! Toby climbed hay bales, slid down slides, picked out his very own pumpkin, ate popcorn, and chased a little girl around. It seems like our little dude has his very first crush... a little girl in his class. He spent most of the day trying to sit beside her on the hayride, and trying to ask her to take a picture with him. Finally I helped him out a little and talked to her dad. Toby just clammed up like in the picture below haha. They were both so precious and shy! I can't believe he already has a crush on a girl and he's only 4.... Heaven help us all!
We spent a few hours chasing Toby around the pumpkin patch. We weaved our way through a corn maze, and spent some time petting pigs and goats, too. Toby rode on a little lawnmower-pulled train with a friend and we made small talk with some parents. Afterward we headed to the next town over to run some errands and buy some birthday presents. Overall I'd say it was a pretty successful day! Now we just have to turn that little pumpkin up there into Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Ha! Wish us luck! Happy Monday!
Toby's wearing:
Target sweater
Levi's jacket
Old Navy corduroys
Handmade hat from Allison
Old Navy shoes
PS; Sorry for all of the blurry faces! I really wanted to include some of the photos with Toby and his friends, but didn't want to overstep any boundaries! I know the class photo is a bit silly since all but Toby's face is blurred, but look how cute they all are!

OMG he has a crush already?! NO WAY. Hahaha. Oh man. Also, I think it's sooo responsible and admirable of you that you blurred out all the other kiddos faces. So rad. Also also, your blog post on my blog the other day TOTALLY made my day. Do you follow along? OH I hope you do lovely lady!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are such adorable photos. What a fun outing!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the blurred faces because I know how many people are weird about that kind of stuff... But I'm curious as a new blogger: If you are taking photos somewhere that people are going to be in your photos (maybe not as the focal point, but in them nonetheless) do you let them know and ask their permission to take photos? My sister is a photographer and she struggles with this a lot and I love the idea of having people in my photos, but obviously not if they have any issues with it...
Such a great question Natalie! To be totally honest, I never paid it *any* mind until Toby came along. I mean, I'm trying to think of places we take photos in public - if it's a blogger get together, I don't ask because I assume we're all there for the same reason. If it's somewhere like the zoo or something, I don't pay it much mind. MAINLY because those people could be anyone and from anywhere. Whereas this post is specifically with Toby's class, so readers know these kids go to school with Toby. I'd never want to put anyone's child in danger (or in an uncomfortable spotlight) and have their whereabouts be easily known ya know? I think it's also different because they're minors. If there are adults (and even kids sometimes) in the background of my photos, I don't really do much about it. Those situations are sort of rare though. It makes me wonder if I should treat those situations with the same approach though. Definitely food for thought! I'd love to hear others' opinions though!
DeleteI appreciate the info. I'm sure it can be kind of a tricky situation!
DeleteThis is sooo cute! And the blurred faces are almost like a creepy Halloween photo, but in a cute way LOL
ReplyDeleteThis whole day in general for yall was just too cute. Please do more series like this!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely should! It'll be nice to have these posts to look back on!
DeleteI love love LOVE what you are wearing here! So cute!
ReplyDeleteToby is such a handsome little guy! Good luck girls haha
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it's really considerate of you to respect the privacy of others. I can't tell you how many times I'm reading other big name blogs and just have to shake my head in disappointment over that very issue.

You know I try to keep in mind that not everyone is so "out there" in terms of the internet. I think if the tables were turned and some mom of Toby's classmate was a blogger + had thousands of readers, I'd be uncomfortable with his face being out there. I think it's only polite! xo
DeleteThat kid has style!
ReplyDeleteHe is just so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAww, these are so sweet! Love the color of your dress with that scarf. The portraits of Toby with the pumpkins are so cute!

you're very thoughtful to keep people's faces private, I would want the same. All that being said, this looks very much like the Ring. Very appropriate pre-halloween spooky pic!
