// Saturday

Honey Bumble
This outfit title might lead you to believe I wore this on Saturday, but that wasn't the case. I don't think any of us got out of our bathing suits on Saturday haha The title of this post is inspired by the Kate Spade "Saturday" line and the bold prints and pop of yellow. I'm afraid if I told you where I got this dress you might punch me through the computer (yea, JCPenney. I know! Literally every dress on the blog in the past 6 weeks has been from there, and I love it!). It was the perfect little number for a day of errands last week. I love how dressed up the black and white made me feel, and the yellow just added the perfect amount of sunshine. These shoes are a pair that I scored when I won the Miss KL $1000 shopping spree (!!!) back in the winter, but it was the first time I've worn them. They're quite high so I teetered around to start. I'm really in love with the way they cross over twice in the front, and the heel is pretty chunky. It was a bit too hot on this day to tote around a big bag of any kind, so I skipped most of the accessories. Just some simple bangles and hot pink Julep polish!

I spent most of yesterday organizing my office and drawing... a lot of drawing! I'm working on a fun little project that I'm excited to share soon. I'm hoping the tiny project turns into something larger, but even just having the opportunity in the first place is fun. Cleaning my office actually made me feel much more productive so here's to hoping I can get on top of my inbox during this week. I get a bit anxious when I have over 15 "important" emails in my Priority Inbox, and right now I have like 58 that require replies. If I've been slow with you, my sincerest apologies! I have a good feeling that I'll get on top of it today.

Ever since we made the concrete vacation plans for July I've been daydreaming non-stop about the beach. There's seriously so much I want to do when we're down there! So many places to visit, sites to see, things to photograph. Does anyone else have a hard time remember to taking photos on vacation? I feel like I go into it with this gung-ho attitude like "Aw yea! I'm gonna document the whole thing!" and then I never touch my camera and have no photographic evidence of the vacation actually happening haha Now I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing... I like enjoying my vacations and my time with my family, and sometimes I think toting around a DSLR to capture every single moment can lead to missing out on the actual fun. But at the same time, I like having these photos to look back on and remember the trip the best I can. It's really hard to try and tread that line. I know I want to do some stuff for Him and Honey while we're down around the Gulf though, for sure. I redesigned the home page of the website a few weeks back and ever since I've been trying to find the time to finish it. In fact, I think our email has been down so I'm spending part of today trying to sort that out! If you've emailed us about a H+H shoot, please let me know! I'm hoping we didn't lose anything in the shuffle!

I hope y'all have a great Wednesday! I'm about to get ish done!

  1. I always find it difficult to toe the line between enjoying something for what it is, and trying to document it. I've definitely been leaning more towards just enjoying moments recently. A year down the line when I can't remember all the amazing things I have done I might regret it, but just now it is alright.

    I love this dress on you, you look gorgeous! The black and white looks amazing, and so put together for a nice simple outfit xo

  6. Gorgeous as always! I really love this dress on you. And I always struggle like that on vacations as well. I try to have one DSLR day and let the rest of the trip be quick cell shots. That way you get to take some nice photos but also get to be in the moment/live life.

I have a Nanette Lepore dress from there that I absolutely in love with- no shame!! haha. They have some awesome stuff there! Great post and absolutely fabulous photos, Kaelah!

  11. I need to go to my local JC Penny ASAP and find that dress! I was about to buy a dress that looks exactly like that online for almost $80 (and that's with a discount), but I'm guessing with their sales and coupons, it was significantly much cheaper.
    I'm one of those that like to take a ton of pictures on their vacation and sometimes I don't realize I did so until I go and download the pictures on my computer and think "crap that's a lot of photos!" For my next vacation I'm giving myself a 50 photo limit so I know to only take pictures where I also want physical documentation.

  13. Do not even feel bad about your JCP splurges. That store has upped their game entirely in the last 6 months. Love it! I can't help but want to keep shopping there. And the shoes are bad ass. Love the heel!

  21. The bold stripes on this dress are awesome! I wish I had something like it. It's just so cute. I love those amazing heels you paired with it too. I have a pair of shoes that are really similar, but they have more of a wedge shape.
