I've been trying really hard not to skip any weeks when doing outfit posts, not so much for the "maternity style" aspect of it, but mainly to look back and see how this bump progresses. Of course that's easier said than done when pajamas are far more comfortable than any "real" clothes and when you actually do manage to get dressed, you wear the same thing five days in a row. Just me? Whoops! I actually did get dressed every day last week, but the weather was never going to cooperate to photograph anything. We've had some crazy wet weather the past few weeks and it's putting a damper (literally) on my Summer! Even these photos were taken early in the evening yesterday but the sky quickly became overcast and the thunder started rolling in. After 3 solid weeks of rain and storms, it's looking like we'll get a reprieve later this week! Then you know, mid-90s days full of 95% humidity... Awesome! At least we'll be able to get in the pool...
I've also been trying to get a lot of wear out of my maternity dresses lately. Now that we're so close to the finish line (33 weeks tomorrow!), I know I probably won't get a ton of use out of them after the baby comes. Honestly I'll probably be too self-conscious to wear anything that hugs my mid-section post-partum haha! This is the same dress I wore here, but with a fun, nautical feel to it. (Sidenote: what do I have to do to get that dreamy hair back?! Humidity is not my friend...) I put it on yesterday before running errands and I asked myself why it took me so long to pair it with a bright red cardigan! I love me some red, white, and blue outfits! Of course I also made the remark to Mike that I felt like a big ol' bouy out in the ocean, but hey, what are you going to do?
We got a few big things squared away for the baby/nursery so far this week and I feel like we're chugging along! I wrote the outline of my birth plan and now I just need to polish it off and finish my hospital bag list. I'm actually loving my current workload with clients because so many of the designs I'm doing are so fun and different! People are keeping me on my toes and I can't wait to launch them all. I'm going to have so many installations going in the next week and a half, I'm not sure I can keep up! Other plans this week include: making our packing list for Florida, preparing as much content for our vacation as possible, lining up the next several Rad Gal features (email me if you're interested!), and shooting a few more outfits while the weather is nice. Here's to hoping we can get it all done! Today's biggest priority is starting design mocks for the 2 new clients I booked over the weekend. It's going to be a busy one for sure. Happy Tuesday! xo

Cute! Red and navy are just such a classic pairing. I feel like Target has been my best friend through the last half of this pregnancy, just for basics like cardigans and they sell these super-long tank tops for teenagers that work so well for maternity, too...
ReplyDeleteYou are staying super busy right up until the end, huh?
I want to ask you about your birth plan - could I email you about that or would it be super weird/invasive? It's just that I barely understand what I'm doing with mine and I don't have any prego friends to ask about it! And my friend who most recently had a baby didn't really have one.
Absolutely feel free to email me! My birth plan won't be over the top or extensive, but I'm more than happy to share what I've chosen to include and why! I can send you a resource that I used for making mine, too. Just gotta find the link! My email is kaelahbee@gmail.com :)
DeleteYou look just beautiful! I'm a few months along and have loved seeing your bumpdates on the blog :) Are you going to be sharing your birth plan or birth story on here, or keeping it private?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm not 100% sure what I'll share honestly! I think birth stories are amazing to read, and birth plans, too. I guess I can't say with conviction if I'll share or not because I don't know what to expect! It could be so moving I want to shout about it from the rooftops, or I could feel like it was an experience I want to bottle up and keep for just us! I suppose I'll know more once it actually happens haha! I don't mind sharing my preferences for our birth plan because I feel confident in our decisions, even if they'll cause some people to judge :)
Deleteyou look SO gorgeous! that dress looks amazing on you. almost there!!

ReplyDeleteYou're looking amazing! Love the stripes against the red! x
ReplyDeleteMay I ask what the purpose of a birth plan is? I hope this isn't an intrusive question, it's just that I'm from Ireland where delivery is still done in a very traditional manner i.e. the woman goes in to have her baby at the absolute last minute, and is home a couple of hours later, like it's no big deal.
ReplyDeleteBirtg plans just let a woman outline how they'd *ideally* like their labor and delivery to go. Natural vs epidural. Immediate vs delayed cord clamping. Nursery vs rooming in. Who can be in the delivery room during active labor, etc. it's really just an idealized plan because you obviously have to let the doctors intervene if needed. We aren't making a birth plan that is iron-clad because it's such a unique experience that we'll take some of it as we go. But there are a few things I feel strongly enough about to want to ensure they're followed to the best of their ability :) maybe I'll try to share more about that soon, if interested?
