// Maternity Photos - v.1 - Him and Honey

Mike snapped some film maternity photos of me a couple of weeks ago after we wrapped up a client shoot. They actually almost didn't happen at all because goodness gracious you would not believe the amount of heat and humidity we were battling that day! My friend Sara did my makeup before we photographed her family and seriously, not even 5 minutes into the shoot I was drenched in sweat. It was not a good look! haha Luckily she's quite the pro and she worked her magic with my makeup because it surprisingly didn't sweat off! Granted every bit of curl fell out of my hair and I was a walking frizz ball, but I'm so in love with the pictures regardless.

I know it's a bit self-indulgent to post so many photos of myself (I should edit tighter!), but every time I look at these photos I get butterflies. Even with the big ol' belly and the sweat that just won't stop, I am cherishing each and every moment of this pregnancy. I'm turning into one of those people... You know, the ones who wax poetic about everything. I can't help it.

Someone on Instagram commented that I looked like "Mother Nature" in these photos, and ever since then I've just been so in love with that thought. A huge part of me is so sad that this experience is almost over, but I know what's waiting on the other side is even better... I'll be sharing the second round of photos soon! xo

  2. Well you look absolutely lovely, you wouldn't guess from the pictures that it was a humid day! I love how the colours in your floral crown match your cardigan and dress, very nature-y :).

  4. I made the crown myself, yes! It was the first time I had ever tried to make a floral crown so I was insanely intimidated, but I'm happy with the final product! :D xo

    1. heh, don't worry, I had COPIOUS amounts of powder on my face! I ran back to the car many times to sit in the A/C for a few minutes, dry off and powder my face! I probably looked like a fool! :P

  20. Cute! One of my bridesmaids is just 15 weeks along now and she is a bigger girl, like you and it's cute how much she's already showing! I think she's nervous about how big she will be but you look so beautiful here, I will have to show her this post! You're just glowing and rocking the hell out of that outfit and embodying mother nature herself!

    1. while I appreciate the kind words, I don't think it's really necessary to comment on the size of my body (pre, post, or during pregnancy). :)

    2. Maybe, but for a woman who is struggling with their own insecurities about how they look and to be able to associate themselves physically if need be to be able to understand and grasp what they might be going through personally and to be able to see someone they can relate to on a physical level. It could be very necessary. It was in no way to type you or put a pin out on you personally, but celebrating how well to rock pregnancy and how glowingly confident you look in all your pictures. Women should be able to say that in a healthy and supportive way to each other or not if they so choose, as long as it's not criticizing someone or putting them down in some way. We all have to love ourselves first and foremost and I think you look amazing.

  21. You look like a Greek goddess or something. The Mother Nature comment is spot on. I'm sure I've said it before but I can only hope I look as beautiful as you if/when I'm pregnant.

  25. I've been reading for quite awhile, but have never commented. I love your fun/laidback style and I always think you look pretty, but you are definitely the *cutest* pregnant lady and these photos are gorgeous! I think maternity photos can easily veer off into strange/awkward territory, but these are just natural and lovely and perfect. Thanks for sharing - this and every post!

  31. I have to agree with the mother nature idea! So pretty! Or maybe a goddess of nature. The photos have something light and airy, even though you said it was a day of humid air and heat. And you look stunning, beautiful, radiant and so happy. I am really happy for you and your little family!
