// Double Dutch (and Radio Silence)

22Double Dutch - Kaelah Bee8a
Hey there! Did you think I had abandoned the blog? Ha. It is very unlike me to go 4 full days without posting, but Vegas really did me in. I'm still not home, even though I was supposed to get in around midnight Thursday night. First off, Vegas and WWDMAGIC was amazing (!!!) but holy crap I'm exhausted! I'll get to my MAGIC posts soon, don't worry. For right now I just wanted to break the radio silence on the blog and let you know that I'm still alive. (It was actually really nice to not worry about my blog at all. I haven't looked at stats or anything - I'm sure they're low! Whatevz! It's nice to sort of train myself not to get so stressed about being lax, ya know?) We stayed at the Hard Rock hotel and the wifi didn't work in my room all week. Despite several attempts to have the service desk fix it, I finally just gave in and got over it. We were so busy the entire time that I honestly would't have had time to write anyhow. (Major props to the girls who didn't let that stop them!) Anyhow - I headed out from Las Vegas around 3pm on Thursday and headed to Denver for my connection. We hit a major storm and had to circle around for over an hour and a half before we could land. Of course I ran to my (delayed) connecting flight and missed it by like 3 minutes. They told me that the next flight out was the following morning and I tried so hard not to cry. This week was so so so SO amazing, but SO exhausting too. When you're en route for home all you can think about is actually getting there. Luckily I had friends in Denver so Emily was AMAZING and came to pick me up! She and Kerstan let me crash at their ultra rad loft. I had been wanting to pay them a visit anyway, so while it wasn't the most ideal way to go about it, I lucked out. I didn't have any of my things with me (just a phone charger, wallet, and toothbrush!) but it worked out. The airport was packed with folks who missed flights or had them cancelled, and a cozy bed was so much better than the hard airport floor (or a hotel that I did not want to shell out for!) I caught a 10:30am flight and got into Nashville around 2pm. Mike was at Toby's school for a party so another amazing friend (Maya!) came to pick me up from the airport. We went out to lunch and proceeded to watch too many episodes of Oddities on Netflix. - Seriously, I am so blessed to know so many rad ladies. They're always there for me in a pinch! You can't ask for better friends! Silver linings.... ahh!

We have a Him + Honey photoshoot this morning (plus loads of other business in town) so we didn't want to drive 2 hours home to drive 2 hours back so we just opted to snag a hotel room. We would've crashed with friends if Toby had taken me being gone better than he did. Apparently he was uber sad all week and even cried like crazy when he found out I missed my flight and wouldn't be home for another day. My heart broke into a million pieces! He gave me the biggest, longest hug and a sweet kiss when he showed up at Maya's house. I've never been so happy to see those little chicken legs! We wanted to spend some quality time with him before he heads over to his grandparents' for part of today, so we cozied up in our hotel room with pizza and a movie. I'm meeting up with some other friends today for lunch and then going around town with Maya for a bit before heading over to our blogger pizza dinner tonight. I've got tangled, airplane-air hair going on but I'm not going to let that stop me from hanging out with nearly 2 dozen rad gals! I'll get home around 10pm or so today and I'm so excited to sleep in my own bed and cuddle my pups!

This outfit is a pretty simple one. I bought this dress way back like a year and a half ago in a ModCloth sale. I was never sure if it was flattering or not (This is starting to become a trend... haha) but I'm so so so in love with the pattern and collar. I actually had a chance to meet the folks with MIA at MAGIC this week (the same day my tan pair broke! The horror! The heartbreak!) and some pieces from their newest collection are similar to the Jukebox wedges. You can bet I'll be getting my hands on those! I'd gladly throw away almost all of my shoes just to wear my 3 pairs honestly.

Now that I'm back I know I owe a lot of people a lot of really important emails! I've had so many inquiries for design, photoshoots, signs, and sponsoring - Please know that I'm going to get back to you ASAP! I hope to devote a hefty portion of Sunday to responding to everything I can! I'm excited to get back into the swing of things, and to share what I managed to get into in Vegas! Stop back by Monday, yeah? xo

  4. I actually think the dress is super-flattering. I was scrolling through the photos thinking that it definitely highlights how itty-bitty your waist is!

I doubt anyone will judge the airplane-air hair ;) You earned it! And you've definitely earned some pizza.

  8. I love the print of this dress! And I think it's very flattering! I think it makes your legs look long since it has the higher waist. I love it!

  12. In the last year I have actually developed flight anxiety because of delays. The first time was a snowstorm (reasonable) and only left me stranded for a day but i also caught a horrible flu to fly 8 hours home. Next one was outrageous!! Left on the 19th and finally arrived on the 24th after 6 city hops and hotels from what was supposed to be an 8 hour flight.... and last time another entire day delay which we werent told till we were about to board at 6 am after having to travel since 2:30 am to just get to the airport!!!

needless to say i feel your pain and i can't fly anymore.....
