23 Before 24...

This birthday has been spectacular, and nothing extravagant has even happened! I love the little things in life. They make everything totally worth the while! We signed the lease for the loft (hooray!) and we've spent the day picking out paint colors and patterns for our new little home. We are overjoyed. So now I'm going to share with you my 23 before 24 list of goals I'm hoping going to achieve by my next birthday!

Mike's favorite is totally number 12! (/sarcasm) haha I know it's important to balance out tangible goals with the not so tangible, but these are 23 things I find to be important at the moment and I have a whole slew of other things to add to it! I'll probably need all of your help! Well, however helpful you can be through the internet!

Do you have a list of things you want to accomplish before you turn a year older? Share some of them with me! (Or link me over to your post!)

PS; Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes today! You've made it absolutely fantastic and the overwhelming love and support I have from y'all is amazing!

PPS; To clear up confusion about #21: I did graduate. Well, I finished college in December, but O'More doesn't have winter graduations so I have to wait until May to walk at graduation and to get my degree. :) haha It's a special day because graduation day is also my mom's birthday! Having your only child graduate college is a pretty rad birthday present right? So I don't have to buy anything?! *kidding* :P

  1. That's a good idea. I should make a list of my goals. I told myself that I would have my "goal body" (just toned- I'm not a pyscho) by the time I'm 21, but that's in less than 2 weeks. haha. oops.

  18. good list! i need to start making lists again. one of my goals was to really live on my own and i'm doing that this week finally. although i had to break up with my boyfriend of 4 years (lived with for 3 years) for it to happen. i think i'll be happier for it.

  19. This list is perfect! I love it. Except for the hot yoga thing haha Im just not into torturing myself like that. : ) I have some friends who do it and it just sounds AWFUL... but then again i'm a wimp when it comes to hot weather.

  20. I made one of these after I saw Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky do one. Reading yours reminded me to revisit mine!

  22. I highly encourage Bikram yoga. It changed my mind and focus... I couldn't have gotten tattooed without my breathing and concentration techniques my body taught itself during those classes. But since you're already a pro at getting tattooed, maybe try hot yoga for a month straight before you get that new statement piece you're thinking about... just to test yourself and see if anything changes. :)

  23. I made a list a few months ago (http://www.aqua-elephant.com/p/26-before-27.html) but I LOVE reading others! I feel like I have a long ways to go on mine...

  24. This is a great list. I know you can do it! I use the Nike iPod apparatus to help keep track of miles.

I don't have a list now, but I remember having a list like this when I was your age (I'm 30, remember??) The only thing on there that I haven't accomplished is getting my phD. I had a heck of a time finishing grad school. I'm okay with not getting it!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Love the idea of doing a list of goals, I've been thinking I might make a '100 goals in 1000 days' list, I find it really helps to have things written down to be able to focus!

  26. I turn 29 in May, which is actually year #30 of being alive. So I find that kind of a mile-marker. So I have my 30 before 30 list. :-)

  32. Sweet list! I can totally help you out on the meeting more blogger friends part. ;) I have a really long list that needs to be checked off. The 101 in 1001 tasks? Have you heard of it? If not, you are free to check out my scraggly(sp?) list. Have a fantastic day, pretty lady! :)

  33. i have a 30 before 30 that i am in the process of working on... it terrifies me, but i also think it will be a really amazing milestone. my lovely man turns 30 this weekend, and i think it made me more crazy than it did him! it just seems like a big deal, no? they all do, really. nut, if you have a list of goals it makes it seem way less scary and lot more fun!
p.s Hot yoga is on my list too!!!!!

  34. I turn 27 this year. I'd really like to get my first tattoo before then.

  35. I've never made a list like this but in September I will definitely make a 28 before 29 list! Also, I had two microdermals, one on each side of my eyes and they both tore out, UGH! There wasn't enough fat and skin in that area I guess for it to settle into, they kind of stuck out a bit. My sister had one on each wrist and they were always getting snagged on sleeves and eventually tore out too. They're so cute but a pain in the ass!

  36. I have done a list too - 23 before im 24. going to join you with the hot yoga one, we should arrange to do it in the same week! x

  41. I always have goals. I believe they help to make you a well-rounded person.
My birthday goal list from my last birthday (five months ago mind you!) is here:

    http://eiramnelle.blogspot.com/2010/11/goal-in-mindor-24-of-them.html

I also do recaps to show I do indeed reach (most of) my goals.

    Good luck with yours!

  42. oh how i love these kinds of lists.
and how similar we are i just realized. but let me tell you something about the dermal anchor things. i have one in my wrist. first i had one in each wrist and the one on the left didn't survive a month. the other on is slowly but surely growing out of my skin and it's just a matter of time that i'll just pull it out by mistake. i had one on my chest and pulled it out while getting dressed. so what i want to say is choose your body location wisely. i loved my anchors but they are so hard to maintain. :-)
ok.. now that i look at the one.. it's actually not a dermal anchor (i had the anchor in the chest) but a skin diver. you can't change the jewellery of the skin diver. i have this star in the wrist and love it. i've found changing the jewellery in my chest hard and my skin was always irritated. but go and do it. it's LOADS of fun!!

  43. Hey I loved reading your list! Totally going to do one of these when my birthday rolls around! Hope you had an amazing day :)

  44. My school does that too, although I wasn't going to walk, so I got my degree in the mail in January. I changed my mind and am now walking. Yay! Congrats on graduating though :D

  45. This is so inspirational! :) I am turning 24 this summer as well, but have absolutely no idea what I would like to achieve before.. Have a list called 'before 30 (worst case 31)', but anything on that list is way to serious for now! :) Help? :))

  46. I love this idea! I think i'm going to be writing myself a 22 before 23 list.

Some of your things to do are quite intriguing, how many have u managed so far?
