First off, I'm making a derp face in literally every picture, and for that I'm sorry. There's not much I can do about it though since, well, you know... that's just my face haha I've basically been out of the "outfit photo" game for about 3 or 4 weeks now (Whattttt?!) so I'm easing my way back into it and feeling like a doof. Blogging (especially ~*personal style blogging) is so weird ya know? So weird! Yesterday was also the first day I wore makeup in like almost 2 weeks. I've been taking it way easy lately and my hair rarely sees anything other than a bun. Of course being totally relaxed and chill also makes me feel somewhat lazy, so I needed to just curl my hair and put some effort into myself in order to get my mojo back. It worked for a little while, then it started raining and I went in and put my hair back in a bun. You win some and you lose some!
This dress is one that I received via ~*MAGIC swag, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's perfect in every way. It's short enough that it's not dowdy, but long enough for me to still feel modest and covered up. (It's the black/orange/red twin to the turquoise one I bought last year!) The darker pattern and dark hair definitely lend to the cooler weather I'm dreaming of. Maybe I should whip out my turquoise one once more before the weather finally breaks... for old time's sake. Beach Bash is a super rad brand though and if you don't know anything about them, you should definitely check them out! I had a chance to meet all 3 members of the Beach Bash crew at MAGIC last month and it was so great to finally put a face with the names (and voices since we chatted via phone beforehand!) Everyone was so kind and awesome. I love when brands are a small operation. I'll gladly say it doesn't take away from the quality a single bit in this instance. I've been poking around the Beach Bash site and there are so many gorgeous things that have caught my eye. For instance this cherry dress (!!!) and this red and white polka dot dress! I'm super excited that a Bettie Page store just opened here in Nashville, too! I'm planning on dropping by tomorrow to check it out finally. I know I'll want to leave with entirely too much stuff though... ahh! Willpower, KB! Anyway, I wore this dress out in Vegas on the night we went to Hyde at the Bellagio. It was the perfect dress for dancing and twirling around in! I'm going to play around with different cardigan colors to see what it will look like. I'm digging the matchy matchy right now though!
Isn't this bag dreamy?! It's another MAGIC score! Seriously we were spoiled and I'm still on cloud nine thinking about it. (Did you see the loot I brought home?! If not, check it out!) This bag is so sturdy and classic. I don't normally go for bags that are wider than they are deep, but this one is a nice balance. I can fit a boatload of stuff inside, but I've actually managed to keep it quite tame thus far. I wanted to keep all of the other accessories super simple so I tossed on a color coordinated necklace and some simple black wedges. Few things make me feel more put together than a pair of heels.
Today we're planning on churning out a dozen or so sign orders, then making lists for everything we need to do on Saturday. Toby will be seeing his grandparents for part of the day so we'll be poking around Nashville and enjoying some time to ourselves. Maybe we'll even go on a mid-day date! Goodness knows I need to actually unpack my Las Vegas bags and start packing my North Carolina bags... Sheesh! I can't wait to get away for several days and enjoy some time with our best friends. Ahh! It's going to be so so good.
I hope y'all are having a rad Friday! Here's to hoping your weekend is relaxing and enjoyable! xo

ReplyDeleteWow what an aaaawesome dress to have snagged for free! I'm obsessed with both floral over black AND floral over blue, so I love both versions of the dress that you have! :O Now I really want one, but it's down to deciding~
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about outfit posts feeling weird. I want to start doing them-- but I feel like. I dunno. Who cares how I dress, ya know? And yet, outfit posts are my one of my very favorite things that other bloggers post, so maybe I'm reading way too far into it, haha!

Love the dress. And the shoes. I notice you usually wear heels. I wish I could wear heels more. I try every now and again with some kitten heels or low wedges, but it is just SO uncomfortable. I do a fair amount of walking around every day and I am overweight, so maybe that's why. Wish I could wear heels more, though - it makes every outfit better!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, 'nuff said about heels. Have a nice weekend :)
I LOVE this outfit. Fall is by far my favorite time of year. Those colors are gorgeous!
