// A Boy + His Dogs

I think there are few things more meaningful than the relationship between a kid and his pet. To this day I still consider my Bichon Frise, Bert, to be one of my very best friends. We had him for over 13 years and he finally passed away (in my arms. wahhh!) when I was 16. We'd snuggle up together at night (he hogged the pillow), and be attached at the hip during the day. I owe so much to that relationship with Bert. I can even remember the very day we "got" him. (He was a rescue who had been thrown from the window of a truck). Seriously, I loved that dog more than life itself. I think that's one reason I am so so happy Toby has the relationship he does with our dogs. Especially Pipkin. I love having these photos from him when he was only 3 years old.

Georgia has taken to Linden like her own. If he cries, she runs to him. If he's laying/playing in the floor, she's right beside him. The other day she laid right up next to him so that he could pet her while they were on the blanket together. It's my sincerest hope that they grow closer and closer as they both age.

There's nothing like growing up with a special animal in your life, I'm sure of it. Seeing the way the boys interact with ours just makes my heart sing. I can't get enough of it! xo

Doggy Blankets

The amount of love Toby has for our two dogs is unprecedented. Sometimes it's hard to wrap my head around. I had dogs when I was little, too, so I "get" it, but seeing him interact with them is one of the best things in the world. The girls get all the Toby kisses in the house but we don't mind because it's so sweet.

The other day I was in my office working while Toby played in the living room and Mike ran errands. The dogs were laying on the floor in my office, sleeping away as usual. I heard Toby come into the room but I didn't pay it any mind (normally he just grabs a camera off the shelf and goes off "photographing" the house). My attention shifted when I heard him say "Shh! Goodnight. I love you"   followed by the sound of his lip-smacking kiss on a pup's head. I looked over to see that Georgia had been given some shorts for a blanket and Pipkin was covered up with Toby's underwear. Yep... there was our toddler standing naked (well, he was wearing a polo shirt!) in the middle of the room as he explained the dogs needed blankets to go "night night".

It really really was the sweetest thing in the history of all things. That boy can't go anywhere without giving the girls a hug a kiss each. I'm really glad he's surrounded by animals that allow him to hug on their necks and maybe sometimes sort of squish them on accident. They're so patient with him.

Happy Birthday, Pipkin LaRue!

Today my sweet littlest pup turns one year old! Our lives have changed so very much since bringing her home in September, that's for sure! She entertains Georgia and keeps her happy. She provides endless amusement for me and Mike. She is hands down the best cuddle-pup in the whole wide world! She may do things like tear toilet paper to shreds (daily!), but our family dynamic wouldn't be the same without her.

Happy birthday, my lil' croissant!

If you're interested in how Pip came to be and where we got her name, check out this post! And a few more for good measure: adorable Pip photos (at the end!), Our two girls together (look at how much she's grown!), and that one scary time where we almost lost her. She's such a blessing! xo

Behind the Scenes: Sweet Sleepy Pups

There is no doubt that my life revolves around these two pudgy pups. The amount of love I have for them is totally immeasurable and indescribable. I can't even begin to imagine the overwhelming love I will have for our kids once we decide to expand our family. I cannot fathom it being bigger than this. You always hear new moms saying "I never thought I could love something so much" but I get it... I totally get it. That's exactly how I feel about Pipkin and Georgia. Silly maybe, but I take my role as puppy mom seriously. There's nothing I wouldn't do for those sweet faces. Just look at them!

Speaking of... I've worked up a fabulous tribute tattoo for Georgia! Yes, I know, I'm getting a tattoo for my dog. I know some of you are side-eyein' me right now but it just seems fitting! (Just wait until you see it... ha!) I'm not sharing what it'll be (only a few people know) but it's fantastic. And so special in it's own way! Pipkin will undoubtedly get one, too. Don't worry! No favoritism here, folks! Now to make the appointment...

iPhone Photo Dump

The past week hasn't been too condusive to updating the blog or doing anything fun and exciting. I'm still battling the pericoronitis and I missed both nights of work this past weekend due to it. It has not be fun to be laid up on the couch, ibuprofen pumping through me, and missing out on a whole week's worth of pay. Frustration station! I'm still in a bit of pain but I've taken all of my antibiotics and this morning I learned that antibiotics and coffee do not mix well on an empty stomach! Yeesh! Mike and I are about to head to Nashville for the day to look at a few rental properties including a factory-converted-loft. He's been applying to a bunch of places to snag a new job so hopefully the universe will come together and something good will happen!

Until then, I'm leaving you with some iPhone photos (mainly of the pups) from the past week or so. Nothing too exciting, but I promise I'll have something fabulous for you shortly! xo

If you've ever been curious, well, now you know! I am indeed that creepy lady with a million pictures of her dogs on her phone. Yikes. But c'mon... aren't they precious?!

Pip's First Snow!

As I stated earlier, we've managed to get our first real snow of the season. More often than not the first is also the last, but I'm thinking we're in store for some pretty white days this year! Georgia really really loves the snow. [I'll share a video from her first snow last year!] Pip is a July baby though so this year was her first! She gets cold easily so she'll have be bundled up from now on, but otherwise, she loves it! She and Georgia had so much fun! Of course we had to take an immense amount of photos! Here you go! Cute puppy snow spam!

After, of course, they curled up on the couch together for a snooze. They melt my heart!

Now, before you guys get all huffy puffy about the sincere lack of snow, just know that the mentioning of flurries sends people in Tennessee into a panic. No, we cannot drive for crap in the snow. Yes, we really do think the apocolypse is coming. Yes, we do get excited over an inch or two. Haha! We're Southern people!

Here's a video of Georgia's first snow last year. She had no idea what to think of it.

Hooray for cute pups! Do your animals like the snow?

PS; All images from our new Nikon D300s! We're love love loving it! It's so crisp and awesome. With that being said, our Nikon D40 [with new 18-55mm f3.5/56 VR lens] needs a new home! They go for $400-$500 online still used but we're only asking $350 and that includes domestic shipping! Email me [kaelahbee@gmail.com] if you're interested!  SOLD! Thanks for the interest, y'all!

iPhone Photo Dump

Dumping a load of photos on you for the day! Still insanely under the weather (haven't left the couch all day and I've been exercising my right to Nyquil). The good news is that the sore throat has disappeared (hopefully for good!) and I'm only battling insane congestion. Since I wasn't able to share some amazing wedding goodness with you, hopefully a million pictures of my babies will do!

Mike and I at target the other day.

Mike opening his new toy: Nikon d300s. He's in love.

Georgia sits on Pip when she wants to calm her down.

Pipkin nuzzled up near G's backside to snooze. If you know anything about either of our pups, you'll know that that is NOT a place you EVER want to be.

The girls curled up next to my head this morning on the couch and slept next to me while I was sickly. Sweetest girls ever.

Back to my please-get-healthy mission! Hope you're all having a great night <3
