Happy Sunday! What are you gals up to today? We drove down to Montgomery, AL last night in the RV to get started on our little roadtrip/glaming vacation, and today we're making the last stretch of the journey to Perdido Key, FL! We spent some time beforehand in Nashville yesterday doing some business-y stuff like dropping off some inventory at Atmalogy and knocking out some photo work. We were in go, go, go! mode all day long. We made the 1.5 hour trek back home long enough to get the dogs to their sitter and throw the last of our bags into the RV. Then we pulled outta town! I'm really excited about this week and just being able to unplug and enjoy some family time. I've scheduled a post for every single day we're gone (I think!), so I hope you enjoy the outfits and fun posts I've whipped up! I'll be away from my email and all that jazz, but if you need me for any reason, feel free to @reply me on Twitter (@kaelahbee). I don't think we'll have wifi where we're staying, so I'll be limited to my phone and the occasional jaunt to a cafe. Seriously, just 2 years ago I would've flipped if I knew I wouldn't have wifi on vacation! Isn't that ridiculous? Just goes to show how tied to the internet we are I guess (well, I can only speak for myself but you know what I mean). Now I look forward to trips away because I know the world won't crumble from underneath me if I don't respond to something in a split second... Here's to hoping I don't get too lax about it!
This is outfit #2 that I scored with my Chippmunk savings. The dress is from JCPenney and was on mega sale when I ordered it (It's currently $20 off, and you can get extra discounts from Chippmunk!). I'm telling you, I'm going crazy over these bold/jewel tones lately. I received this bright orange/coral cardigan from Stitch Fix on the same day as my JCP package arrived, and I instantly knew they'd be the perfect pair. I layered the dress with yet another Stitch Fix grab: this fun necklace! I've had it for months and never knew what to wear with it. (I actually ended up throwing this necklace on with this outfit the other day, too! Even more color! In love!) The yellow tote was the perfect cherry on top for this bright outfit. I got it at Marshall's a few weeks back on clearance for only $15! I noticed they had it in bright pink the other day, too. It's one of the most perfect bags. Big enough, but not too big. -- I've been sort of crazy over white nails for the past few weeks. I don't think I ever wore white nail polish before then, but now I'm all about it. I've since traded it out for mint for vacation, but that crisp white is so neutral, yet bright, I can't get enough.
It looks like they're calling for isolated thunderstorms in Perdido Key today, but I'm kind of excited to just ease into town and set up for the week. Nothing to stress about. Just laze around, check out some local cafes (if they're open on Sunday!) and put my toes in the sand! Maybe we'll get crazy and have a little bonfire tonight and roast some marshmallows.
I hope you all have a lovely end to your weekend, and a blissful start to your week! If any of you are in/around Perdido Key, Pensacola, or Gulf Shores, give me a shout! We'll have plenty of down time and we'd love to meet up with some people who can give us some rad recommendations on where to go/see/eat!

I love that dress and since you got it at my place of employment I love it even more! Might just have to go see if I can find it, ha. Have a wonderful vacation! I know what you mean about being disconnected, I'm so much better at it now than I was even a few months ago. But I still get anxious the first little while without it!

Wow; LOVE the color combo!
ReplyDeleteFort Pickens is a cool spot across the bridge from Pensacola if you guys like history at all! It's also a nice spot for pictures (both at the fort itself and the beaches leading up to the fort). It's part of Gulf Islands National Seashore and it's neat to leave town and all of a sudden be in a totally natural, timeless spot. The beaches down there are less crowded and gorgeous. It's probably 5 dollars to enter the park, though. Orange beach has a great seafood place called Docs. Its more local than touristy. Enjoy your visit! I love it down there.

ReplyDeleteI love Coral! And you've made it look awesome with the blue and the belt. You look so tanned, I'm jealous over here with my pale-ness. So beautiful Bee.
