// HOLY LASHES!

Back at the end of July I did something super fun: I got eyelash extensions! I had always wanted them, but never really knew much about the process. Plus I always knew they were $$$. Despite my reservations (How do I keep them nice?! How do I not pick at them?! Will they look wonky?!), I spent a couple of hours with Shala Williams in Nashville. It was a little nerve-racking because I had no idea how they'd turn out until it was all over and done with. Shala asked me if I wanted more of an everyday "natural" look or if I wanted to go full sass. Well, obviously I went full sass! I was IN LOVE the second I saw myself in the mirror! Y'all, those eyelash extensions seriously changed my whole game! I kept saying "Oh my stars, I LOVE THEM!" haha I'm a little heartbroken I didn't go back for fill-ins because I've been missing them something awful.

For a full month I didn't need to even think about mascara. I seriously woke up looking fabulous. It was awesome and I think I might be hooked. If only my bank account could be hooked with me! I can't even look at false eyelash strips the same haha (Not that I was ever good at putting those on anyhow...)

Shala was so easy to talk to. She's so so sweet and so down to earth. Not to mention stunning! I know that's not relevant in any way, but it's true. It took almost 2 hours to get the full set done, but it flew right by. I did manage to have a bit of a coughing fit right in the middle and that was only mildly embarrassing ha! We talked about blogging, her career and our kiddos, so before I knew it I was walking out of her salon looking like a million bucks!

She's trying to build her clientele here in Nashville so if you're local, please give her a shout! You can find her on Instagram and you can book an appointment through her website. Typically a full set of lashes are $220 but if you mention you saw my blog, she'll give you a stellar deal at only $120! You can get fill-ins every 3-4 weeks for $75, too. It's perfect for a wedding, trip, or other fun event. Or heck, just because! Because why not?!

*Sigh* My long, fluffy lashes! You make mascara look ridiculous.

Have you ever tried eyelash extensions?

  2. Isn't it funny what people pick as their expenses for what they'll pay someone else to do? I personally love me my mascara and, while those lashes are stunning (but girl you're stunning with or without lash fills!) I would so rather spend that money getting someone to make my hair look good when I wake up!

    1. So very true! I never thought I'd honestly love eyelash extensions like I did! I sometimes scoffed at the idea of spending that much money, but now I totally get it. I guess it's just different strokes for different folks, yeah? Ain't nothing wrong with a good hair style either! ;) xo

  3. I have eyelash extensions and keep them--they're as important to me as my hair now. Part of that is due to my thyroid disease ensuring my natural lashes are scarce and weak, so even mascara doesn't really help. And mine only cost $30 every two weeks for fills...if you shop around you can find good deals. Nashville can't be more expensive than Salt Lake City. Plus, my fill-in time is basically meditation time...it's wonderful!

  4. They look awesome. I used to work with a girl who had them and daily she got compliments on them. How was the experience of getting them...was it weird to have someone all up in your eyeballs.

    1. So it makes sense to me now, but I didn't realize I'd have my eyes closed for a solid 2 hours while I was wide awake! Haha It probably would've freaked me out to know ahead of time, but it was actually fine! I think it was far more comfortable because I couldn't see anything. Now that I think of how close she was to my face, I'm starting to worry about what I had for lunch that day! HA!
