// KB's Birthday Wishlist

My 27th birthday is on Monday (!!!) so I thought it'd be fun to put together a little wishlist of goodies I totally wouldn't hate receiving haha! It'll be a low key day around here since Mike has school and Toby will be on spring break. It'll be me and the kiddos for most of the day. 27 seems like such a strange age, but I think I say that every year. But seriously... 27. Holy crap.

Anyway, here's my current wishlist:

Seinfeld series box set - because Seinfeld! // Seinfeld trivia book - yes! (I really love Seinfeld) // Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay // An embroidery machine - because I don't already own too many sewing related gadgets (that I have no idea how to use...) // A week in Akumal, Mexico - I can't convince Mike it'd be super fun to take the kids, so I guess I'm wishing for a set of grandparents to offer to keep them for that long haha! // A new pair of Sanuk yoga mat flip flops - Mike got me a pair a few years ago and I went and lost one since last Summer! They're the best! (Size 9) // A huge bag of Runts - because that's what I fill our gumball machine with // An ULTA gift card - because makeup!

What would be on your wishlist? (And do you wanna watch our kids for a week?! Ha kidding! Sort of...)

// Window Shopping: Eliza J Dresses

I was recently introduced to Eliza J dresses and now I'm swooning hard. I've been scouring the pieces online, thinking up ways to get every single one of them in my closet! haha I may not have an excuse to dress this "fancy" every single day, but who needs a reason anyway?! The maxi dress and the bold blue/teal ones are my favorite! But I also really, really dig that striped casual one, too.

I need y'all to invite me to all of your parties and wedding and shindigs! Mama wants to feel fancy! xo

// Dear Santa: Mama + Linden's Wishlist

Last year I had a really hard time thinking of anything I wanted for Christmas aside from a nice, new down comforter and some matching dishes (ha! So adult. Much boring!) but this year I can actually think of a few fun things! They're mostly pretty boring and adult still, but I guess that's what happens when you reach your mid-twenties. Just me?

There are a few things for Linden on here, too. But let's be real, they're really for me. He's too young to really care haha Cloth diapers to round out our stash, and a fun door jumper to help me get some work done. We can still say they're for him though, right?

Dear Santa, we've been really good this year!

1. BumGenius 4.0 FreeTime All-in-One Cloth Diapers: I really love our Flip Hybrids, but I'd love to add some AIOs to help keep things chugging along. The convenience of AIOs being just like disposables (plus you know, washing...) has me sold. // 2. Lenny Lamb "Summer" Wrap (Size M - 4.6m): I really want a woven wrap to add to our arsenal of babywearing gear. I love the versatility of wovens and I like the idea of back carrying, too. (The price is in Polish - Don't let that scare you if you're on the hunt for a woven yourself! They're super affordable!) // 3. Brother Serger: I don't really care what brand it is, but I'd love to have a serger so I can work on some baby sewing projects. The zig zag stitch on my sewing machine only offers so much help. // 4. Alva Baby Cloth Diaper Gift Card: Again, more cloth diapers to round out our stash. We have a good start with our Flips, but I need more to keep up with this heavy wetter! The price and prints on these just can't be beat. // 5. Duvet cover: I love our down comforter from Christmas last year, but one year and one co-sleeping baby later, it's a little dingy. Adding a bright white cover would perk it right up! // 6. Deep pocket sheets: Another boring adult thing. I'd love some cozy new deep pocket sheets to sleep on at night. I always forget to buy the deep pocket ones, argh! // 7. Sephora gift card: Mama needs some pampering, too! I feel guilty spending money on myself since Linden came along. The spare cash can always go to clothes for the boys or a rainy day fund. Having some guilt-free money to spend on that expensive foundation that I totally don't need would feel nice haha! // 8. Door jumper: Just a cute little door jumper for Linden to hop around is so mama can get some work done. How cute is this one?!

We're not the type to spoil at Christmas, but even so I can't really think of much to get for Linden. A couple of books, a few pieces of clothing, and a toy or two. What do you suggest for a 5 month old baby's first Christmas?! I'd love some ideas! xo

One thing I'm looking forward to after being pregnant is just wearing regular clothes. Of course I know I'll be a bit limited when it comes to nursing and what I can wear, but I'm just dreaming here! I have been holding off on buying too many non-maternity items not just for the sizing concern, but also because babies are expensive! Every spare penny seems to get funneled into the kid account (as it should haha). Novelty print dresses and online sales are really just a thing of my dreams right now. I can still look though, right?

Everything on this list is at least 50% off right now (some of them are 70% off!) and it's so hard to resist the urge to hit "Add to Cart"... At least I can waste part of an afternoon making a collage of the pretty things haha! Keep dreaming, KB!

// Style File: 90's Child

I was born in Spring 1988 so despite "growing up" in the 90's, I feel like I missed out the "cool" aspect of it because I wasn't quite a teenager. The 90's are definitely one of my favorite decades in terms of style, music, and overall aesthetic. That might sound like total crap since I don't really act/dress that way, but there's the iconic look of the grungy 90's that I adore.

When I saw this dress at ModCloth I instantly dreamt up an outfit around it and this is the result. Now I'm not going to pretend to know all there is to know about the 90's in any way, but this is what my brain thinks of when I remember idolizing people who were 8-10 years older than me at the time. It could be based solely on a stereotype, but even if that's the case, I still really dig the look. And shoutout to Tragic Kingdom! That was the first album I ever bought! And it's still one of my absolute favorites!

What about you? Were you into the 90's at all?
What was/is your favorite aspect?

KB's Christmas Wishlist

1 // urban outfitters - 2 // overstock - 3 // memory4less - 4 // overstock - 5 // etsy - 6 // ebay - 7 // amazon - 8 // ikea - 9 // uline - 10 // etsy - 11 // thrive furniture

When my family asks me what I want for Christmas, my mind always draws a blank (until the 11th hour, that is!) I'm late to the game as it seems everyone is already done shopping (I'm always shopping on Christmas Eve...) but I finally took some time to compile my DREAM Christmas wishlist. It started out as a "grown up" list but of course I had to add novelty S&P shakers + maybe a donut coffee mug, but whatever. Some of these are big ticket items so I'll just continue dreaming!

1 // This gorgeous chair! Be still my heart. The mustard color and the shape. It's without a doubt the number one item on my list. And it even has free shipping!

2 // I'd love to add this mid-century inspired rocking chair to our bedroom. The subtle curvature of the rails is the perfect match for the chair design!

3 // This printer (Epson 1100 Wide Format) is high on my list thanks to my friend Elle. I need to get busy on my "24 before 25" list with the print shoppe! This printer would be perfect for that.

4 // These shell chairs (matching #2) come in a set of 2 and I'd love to add them to our DIY dining table once we move. They also come in dining form, which I'd love 2-4 of. They'd make a great new desk chair, too!

5 // Succulents! AKA "Plants Even I Can't Kill"... need I say more?!

6 // Novelty Salt and Pepper Shakers! No matter how silly and impractical these things are, I can't shake my love for my little collection.

7 // Much like my love for S&P shakers, these are silly but they're very practical! My ever growing collection of novelty mugs is pretty awesome, I have to admit. Mike is planning on building me a mug tree once we move, too!

8 // Ikea open shelving! Both of these pieces would be perfect for our kitchen. Put all of the things I love out on display for pops of color. I really just can't help but want to make an Ikea run to Atlanta soon!

9 // Rechargeable batteries! Because I am a sensible woman. These things are the best thing to ever happen to technology and my Magic Mouse.

10 // Cute office supplies! I spend so much time in my office, I want things to be pretty! Pretty notebooks and folders and pens and washi tape! I'm a little bit crazy about anything gold and white.

11 // And my "yeah right okay maybe in like a million years" item: A mid-century inspired couch like this one. I really just like the lines and the medium/neutral grey. It'd sure look pretty with the chair from #1 don't ya think?!

What's on your dream wishlist this year?

Window Shopping + Daydreaming

I like clothes. I won't lie. I don't think they're a necessity for a full and happy life (Well, we have to cover ourselves... but you get what I mean!), but I really really like them. Even more so... I really like shoes. I never thought I'd be a shoe girl. Constantly being asked "Why do you wear the same black flats every single day?" I would just pout off with "I'm not a shoe girl. I don't like shoes. I don't care about shoes." Boy, how the times are changing! It all started with some funky Dolce Vita wedges and then it just snowballed! Dolce Vita, Blowfish and finally... my true (shoe) love... Jeffrey Campbell.

I was browsing around LuLu's today and I couldn't help but peruse the shoe section like a wide-eyed kid in a candy shop. So many beautiful soles... they need to be adopted into my wardrobe! Quickly! Here are my six favorites that I'm drooling over! All but two are JC... sigh. Let's start a "Kaelah needs pretty shoes!" fund, yea? Totally!

1. Nina Sheona Capri Platforms: I think I just love the chunky look of the heel and the bright pink accent straps. The studs on the side toughen up the feminine color and make them just look like ultra rad shoes! I'd wear them with this BB Dakota by Jack Fiona strapless dress! With the Eliza Doolittle Black purse!

2. Jeffrey Campbell Ford Platform Booties: I love the subtle cutout of these booties and that duo-tone brown! They're like the little sister to the famous Litas and they've got a sexy vibe going on. I'd wear them with this Tulle Apricot Preserves dress! With the Melle Bianco Violet Blush Pink handabag!

3. Michael Antonio Studio Mercer Ankle Booties: Hold the phone! Just look at these! I die! Those buckles and subtle tan color... They kill me! That wedge heel is so insane! I'd wear them with this Ophelia's Flowers blush pink dress! With the Material Girl Multi Stripe purse!

4. Jeffrey Campbell Sunny Orange Platform Wedges: The color combination of these are begging to be worn all Spring, Summer and Autumn! Paired with pretty tights or a statement sundress, I can imagine lots of picnics in these babies! I'd wear them with this Sunshine Coffee brown dress! With the Queen Palm beige handbag!

5. Jeffrey Campbell Daisy D Platform Wedges (Cheetah): I already own the Daisy D platforms in Navy+Red Bow and I love them! These are just begging to be brought into my wardrobe! I've been fearful of animal print in the past but these I just need! I'd wear them with this Splendiferous ivory dress! With the Proper Passage Pink tote!

6. Jeffrey Campbell Lana Ankle Boots: I'm obsessed with the curve of the chunky heel on these! The hidden platform and the cut out back heel are just fierce. They're the perfect equilibrium to a ultra swanky and feminine sundress, or even a white sundress with a black studded motorcycle jacket. Oh my stars! I'd wear them with this Dolly's Day Drive red dress! Maybe throw in the Hip Hip Hooray Floral Fanny pack just for fun?!

I mean... my birthday is only 50 weeks away! ;)

Wishy Wishy Wishlist!

I'll be turning the big 2-3 in 11 days! Birthdays have never really been my cup 'o tea and I'm not too sure why. I love to celebrate with other people and make pretty presents for their day, but I don't get too into mine. But it does give me an excuse to "window shop" online and compile a ridiculous wishlist of things I wish I could procure! I took a few minutes to pick and choose a few things that have stuck out to me the past few weeks to share below! You'll be able to tell there is definitely a trend going lately!

1. swaying in the breeze dress via shop ruche, $44.99 2. jeffrey campbell lita heels in distressed brown leather via solestruck, $159.95 3. stila eyeshadow in jezebel, eden and java (not shown) via sephora, $18 each 4. jeffrey campbell foxy heels (skyline view) via modcloth, $137.99 5. too faced designer sample set via sephora, $45 6. girly bird gets the worm dress via modcloth, $97.99 7. jeffrey campbell foxy wood fur platforms via solestruck, $139.95 8. marc jacobs "daisy" perfume via sephora. 9. paint the roses red dress via modcloth, $99.99 10.  public figure dress via modcloth, $159.99 11. jeffrey campbell wedges (good morning sunshine) via modcloth, $139.99

It's obvious that I've grown obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell shoes and I'd love to add several more pairs to my pre-existing two. I can already tell that 23 will be a year of high shoes, red dresses, and hopefully lots of personal style evolution! I feel like my style has changed so much in the past couple of months. I hope that the change continues!

It's quite possible that I could sustain life shopping only via Sephora, ModCloth, and Solestruck. Ooh la la!

I'm still trying to write up my "23 before 24" list so I can share my goals for the year. I'm wondering if it makes me a boring person that I can't think of 23 things!

What are a few items on your wishlist?!

PS; Angiieee asked for my address for cards and things of that nature and it's always in my FAQ, but I'll share it below. (Please, do not feel any sort of obligation to send anything! I'll admit I do always love keeping and collecting sweet cards and letters from blog readers! I also attempt to respond to them all, but I officially earn the title of World's Worst Penpal!) A simple Happy Birthday comment would be way more than enough! :P

Currently Coveting: Raw Amethyst Jewelry

I've never really been a jewelry person. I blame my tom-boy roots and my abundant tattoos [I mean, they kind of stick out on their own! No need to tacky it up!]. I steer clear of necklaces because I feel like they don't play we ll with my chest piece, and I loathe bracelets, and I can't wear "regular" earrings.. sheesh! I do love rings though. Sort of. Sometimes. Whatever... The point is: I don't wear jewelry. But... I have been fawning over the most amazing raw amethyst cluster jewelry on Etsy lately! There is something undeniably  beautiful, yet edgy, about all of that rough stone and the whimsical purple. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way because I've seen gorgeous photos floating around the blogosphere as of late. Maybe I'm subject to peer influence, but whatever the cause, I like it and I want some! Here are a few favorites I found while perusing Etsy!

These would undoubtedly make a lovely gift for any lady in your life! [*hint hint*] All of the items below were handpicked by yours truly based on aesthetic quality and affordability. Be sure to visit the shops linked because you will die at some of the goodies up for grabs!

What is your thought on the edgy gem jewelry? Too much? Just right?

Wish Upon A Star - Wishy Wishlist!

I typically don't ask for things for Christmas anymore. I guess I've just found myself in a place the past few years that if I want something, I'll try to work really hard to acquire it myself. There's a true sense of satisfaction that comes with finally acquiring something you worked so hard for. Of course, who will deny that they love gifts? I definitely do, but there's less room for disappointment or anything like that. Plus, I really just love going home and waking up at my Mom's house on Christmas day. Drinking a huge huge cup [read: bowl] of coffee from my favorite mug and sitting around in pajamas watching the Macy's Parade. I honestly, truly love that. But for the sake of entertainment, let's just say I had lots and lots and lots of money or all of this stuff was readily available at my fingertips [I also hate shopping online for clothes!]. If it were, this would be on my list (though I could definitely live with just the dresses!):

Fred Flare Goodies: 1 // 2 // 3

ModCloth Dresses: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

ModCloth Dresses: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

ModCloth Dresses: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

Mod Cloth Dresses: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

ModCloth Items: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4

And of course random giftcards for places like Amazon, Target, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, etc etc etc. But who's being picky? :P haha

That was fun. And tiresome! And really makes me wanna go dress up! By the way, Outfit Posts will resume next week! Huzzah! I will finally have some breathing room and they shall return! Looking forward to it. I feel like I've been living very blah during the last couple weeks of school! xo

What's on your holiday wishlist?

PS; I'll be drawing a winner for the Miss Violet Lace giveaway later today! Stay tuned or submit a last minute entry if you haven't yet!

Want Wednesday!

This week's wishlist is via ModCloth! I splurged a bit and bought 7 dresses and 1 jacket this weekend during the huge Last Hurrah sale (I hope they fit!) but these are all regular priced items that I'm currently drooling over. Oh ModCloth, hook a girl up!

Is my floral obsession still showing? I love the "Sewing Class" dress because it slightly reminds me of Woody from Toy Story! Pair it with a sweet pair of rustic brown cowboy boots and girl, you're ready to go!

What are your Wishlist Wednesday wants from ModCloth?

Wishful Thinking -- A Wishlist of Sorts

Nothing makes a sick girl feel quite as good as some window shopping... well, online window shopping I guess you'd call it. I caught glimpse of some pretty spectacular duds on Spotted Moth today and I thought I'd share! (Though I have to say... I'd snatch up that Carpenter Bee bag, too!)

(from left to right & below): cream and sugar dress ($46.99), pollyanna coat ($64.99), maraschino dress ($39.99), antler necklace ($62.99), golden noodle necklace ($24.99)

I've heard wonderful things about Spotted Moth around the blogosphere... What's your opinion? Like the choices? Like the prices? Have you bought from them? If so, let me know what you thought! I guess I've got some more wishful "window shopping" to do!

By the way! Daily outfit photos will resume shortly! Hopefully I'll be 100% better tomorrow! Thanks for all your kind words and patience! Here's to kicking sickness' butt!

Monday's ModCloth Must-Haves!

Just a few things from ModCloth that I'm loving on this Monday! Seriously... do all of those dresses just not SCREAM Kaelah?! Eep! Love Love and Jitterbugs!

xoxo

Happy Almost-Birthday To Me!

This year is already flying by. I feel like just yesterday I was sitting in my Business Law class at 6pm, realizing that my 21st birthday would be spent discussing torts and the legal system. Not that I minded, though. I was never much of a drinker, even after turning 21. And now I abstain completely. However, the following weekend more than made up for my less-than-stellar birthday night. But here we are, another year later... This year I shall be turning 22 in Portfolio class (Tuesday, March 30th). I don't have anything special planned... I rarely do. I've never been much of a birthday gal, though I do love them when I DO celebrate. Whatever ends up happening, I'm sure it'll more than suffice.

But lets pretend I was given $1 Million for my birthday, yes? Yes. That sounds fun. Here are a few things I would buy! Woooo, Wishlist! {click the item's name to be taken to the sale page!}

And as always, giftcards to my favorite places because I don't know exactly what I'd spend the rest of the $999,000+ on. haha

What are some items on YOUR current wishlist?

i am in love.
Anthropologie's Golden Light Dress.
if only i could justify $188.

i'm [this] close to getting that Betsey Johnson
dress i've been watching on ebay. chances are likely
that it's a knockoff but it's equally as cute.
