// Gola Galaxy - Maternity Style - 21 Weeks

This is the first pair of "sneakers" that I've worn in... gosh, I can't even tell you how long. Aside from the shoes I'd wear to the gym (ha! you know, back when I actually had and used my membership), I've never really been one to wear sneakers with any of my outfits. Even when I wore jeans and tees in high school, I usually opted for flip flops over tennis shoes (I never claimed to be "fashionable"). ModCloth asked me to take part in their Gola campaign and I was so in love with the designs that I had to say yes. Sneaker challenge accepted! Truth be told, I've been eager to put this sunny weather and second-trimester high to good use and get some exercise. I've never been a runner, but I do enjoy getting a few miles in while walking. Luckily that's helped me keep somewhat active during this pregnancy and it also puts my anxious mind at ease. (I'm constantly worrying "Is this okay to do?!") You're probably wondering if it's even practical to walk miles in a dress, but I've done things far more bizarre while donning a similar silhouette. All I've needed lately is a light jacket and somewhere to stick my keys and phone. I couldn't help but pair my bright pink Members Only jacket with these galaxy print Golas. How fun is that print?! And I promise I'm not just being biased here, but these shoes are so comfortable. I was given three pairs of Gola sneakers to style and while these weren't my initial first choice, they quickly shot their way to the top of the pile because they're so playful and comfy. I also can't help but love them because I'm currently obsessed with watching Cosmos. Y'all, space is so cool!

This past weekend was a such a whirlwind (I mean, my definition of whirlwind is undoubtedly much more tame than some of y'all, I'm sure! It was probably a super boring weekend in comparison to what some of you got up to haha) Saturday was spent running errands in Nashville while Toby saw his grandparents. I convinced Mike to go maternity shopping with me and while he may not have "loved" every minute of it, I walked away with a plethora of new items to try out! (And he racked up with some Summer shorts and chambray button-downs!) After a few hours at Opry Mills we decided to settle down at Panera to kill some time and fill our bellies. Man, a soup and salad has never hit the spot so well haha After picking up Toby we headed back home and over to my parents' house. Toby likes to spend a few Saturday nights with them each month and we love having some alone time, too. When we got to my parents' house we saw this insane new 4wheeler that my stepdad won at his surveying conference earlier in the day. By some crazy stroke of luck he was the winner of the raffle and he brought home the ATV which is worth nearly $6000! What! I never have luck like that haha Mike and Toby took it for a quick spin before we left. I can't wait until we actually get to go off-roading with it! 

Sunday was spent back in Nashville running a few more errands and then a Him + Honey photoshoot. Ashlee's son just turned 2 and we were lucky enough to snap some photos of him and her sweet family. I was worried the weather would be terrible but aside from the chilly wind, it was a beautiful day! All of the driving left us a bit worn out but we got home and started cleaning for Mike's sister to visit on Monday. 

Maggie hadn't been to our new house yet so it was a treat to show her around and let her see this growing bump. She was able to go with us to pick Toby up from school and see what all he gets to do in the average day. I know Toby was over the moon to see his Aunt Maggie. She's planning a gal pal trip to Tulum, Mexico soon so we got to dish on all of our favorite places to go, see, and eat. I'll admit I'm totally jealous that she's going and I've been begging Mike to let us go back for a babymoon. Sadly that won't be happening haha! A girl can dream! 

This week we're trying to finish up some home projects and I'm enjoying my last few days as a 25 year old. My 26th birthday is on Sunday (!!!) and I need to revisit my 25 Before 26 list to see what needs to be completed! (Spoiler: I slacked off big time this year! Ahhh!) I'm also working on my 26 Before 27 list so if you've got any fun ideas to share, I'm all ears!

I'm also planning out our Summer garden (I hope it happens!) and fun projects to keep me and Toby busy during his Summer vacation. This dress immediately made me think of Amelia Earhart, despite most likely not being her style (ha!). It's covered in schematic drawings of prop planes, helicopters and fighter jets. I loved how "all American" it felt so I added a red belt and a white polka dot cardigan. The fit and cut of this dress is so incredibly flattering! I bought it one size up (XL) from my regular size, but it really does fit more like a L instead. Just a heads up incase you decide to buy it! It could be my growing midsection, who knows! But I'm hoping the waist sits high enough that I can continue to wear it throughout my pregnancy. It's the perfect length for Spring and Summer strolling. I'd highly recommend it to everyone. No joke. It's probably one of my favorite dresses of the moment.

The weather has been pretty amazing in Vegas so far! With highs in the mid-70s, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to the gloom of Tennessee! I definitely miss my boys (and my Bump Nest pillow! haha) but it's been so fun to meet new people and enjoy a nice little trip away from home. I definitely promise to fill y'all in on all of the WWDMAGIC and Vegas happenings though! I figure it's better to do dedicated posts rather than litter each one of my outfit posts with anecdotes and happenings. Plus if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you're already getting a hefty dose of the goings on! (Sorry if it's overkilL! We have a set number of shares we have to do each day/hour, and it's definitely higher than my normal volume! Regular posting will resume after the trip! haha)

Some of you may already know this, but I'm obsessed with Cirque Du Soleil. I own the Anniversary collection on DVD but I've only had the pleasure of seeing one show in person (Saltimbanco in 2009!) I really wanted to see a show while I was in Vegas last August but my schedule simply didn't allow. Since I don't plan on spending as much time in the casinos or at Happy Hour this time around, I'm considering splurging on a show! I've always wanted to see "O," but I've heard great things about "Love" and "Zumanity." Each one is so unique and different, and I know they'd all impress! Have y'all seen any of their shows in Vegas before? Which one(s) do you recommend?! I keep talking myself out of it because the ticket prices are so high but then I remember just how magical it was to witness it in person. Everything about Cirque is totally insane and I love it!

Happy Monday, friends! I woke up to a whole lot of gloom and rain this morning, but that's the perfect excuse to snuggle back under the covers once I finish writing this. Mike has come down with something awful (please don't let it be the flu!) and I didn't get a wink of sleep last night, so I'm running totally on fumes. Goodness knows I have plenty I should be doing but I'm looking at the rain as the universe's way of saying "Take care of yourself. Get some rest." Haha (Even if that is a stretch!) Anyway, outfit posts around here have been few and far between thanks to the weather. I'm not a fan of the cold and this latest stint we had with -1* temps was just too much for me. I know that's nothing compared to a lot of places, but that's definitely something for Tennessee. Luckily this weekend we saw temps dance around in the 50's. It felt warm enough to go sans tights for a little while!

This is what I wore on Saturday (and Sunday... and I maybe slept in the dress, too. Hey, I don't claim to be perfect.) I've been in love with this dress from ModCloth for a while now and I'm so glad I was able to snag it before it sold out. It's so comfortable and the length is perfect! Not to mention the lace-esque top and mustard color are my favorites. I managed to pick up a few cardigans like this one at Target a week or so ago for fifty percent off! They were only $12! The little chain detail definitely classes them up a bit, too. I broke out a few accessories I hadn't worn in a long time and even opted to wear a quartz necklace Mike and I made (for Honeybean). And lipstick! I wore lipstick! I felt more put together this weekend than I have in months, just disregard the greasy hair haha. Oh and then there's this coat... This coat is what dreams are made of. Despite it being a gift from Free People, it's by far the most heavenly coat I've ever owned. It's gorgeous, and so warm! I wasn't sure if I'd love it at first because it's a completely straight silhouette (and I'm not) but it's perfect. It runs a little big (mine is a size 8, for reference) but I have no complaints at all. I get so many compliments on it when we're out and about.

Yesterday I was able to drop in on Lauren + Jenna's birthday lunch at Woodlands. It's an Indian vegetarian restaurant on West End. I had never had Indian food before and I'm naturally skeptical of everything, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite delicious! It was nice to see a bunch of my favorite ladies again and just hang out for a few hours. I think there were 9 of us there total if I'm not mistaken. I'll have to do a proper introduction of all the Nashville gals soon. Y'all would love them, I'm sure. I hightailed it home shortly after and spent the evening laid out on the couch watching Grey's Anatomy with Mike. He hardly ever gets sick, so when he does, it's usually pretty gnarly. I'm hoping whatever it is will pass soon (and not spread to me or Toby!) because he's downright miserable. I hate seeing him so sick :(

Today I have several signs to get busy painting (Valentine's Day orders are currently shipping! Email for details and rates!) and a calendar that needs planning! This is my first outfit post in over a month... and that feels so strange. December was a weird month. I took it super easy and just sort of coasted through the month, dealing with holiday stuff, family responsibilities, a sick little dude, and our biggest Honeybean event of the year. I guess I was sort of trying to "train" myself to not stress so much about the blog and just let it do it's thing. I mean, I guess I can't write about my life if I don't go live it, right? Truth be told, I didn't do much of that either this month. I nursed a stomach bug and a sinus infection, and I watched entirely too much Grey's Anatomy!  I spent a good portion of yesterday planning out January and what I want to achieve/write about, etc. so hopefully January won't look like December around here. In any case, I hope you'll stick around for the New Year because I've got some fun things planned!

I've been coveting this dress for a long, long time and I'm so glad I finally ordered it. It's so beautiful! The cut is so flattering and it looks great with or without a petticoat. I kept it super simple with black everything since it's the middle of winter and black seems seasonally-appropriate. I feel like this dress didn't need to be challenged by anything bright or bold. The florals on the dress have just enough contrast to shine. Believe me when I say I want to live in this dress forever! haha Lately I've been wearing nothing but bright red nail polish. (This color is January by Julep! So fitting for the New Year!) I feel like it's so classic and I can't help but feel slightly more put together when my nails are red. Anyone else? Am I super weird here? I think next time I wear this dress out and about I'll dress up my lips with a bright pink or red lipstick, too.

Today I'm hoping to wrap up some design projects and get more planning done for the blog in January. It honestly doesn't even feel like a Monday, and part of that's probably due to Toby not being in school. I've been trying to rack my brain for things to do with Toby for New Years Eve but I'm coming up short. Any of y'all have any suggestions? To be honest I'll probably be asleep by 10pm haha! I'm trying to figure out when I got so painfully old... Do you have any fun NYE plans in the works?

Happy Friday, friends! I'm excited to be gearing up for another sun-and-fun-filled weekend, even though it felt like I didn't get much done this week. I guess driving back and forth to the nearby towns takes up a lot of time. Yesterday we had to drive back over to the neighboring town to fix my driver's license. Seems that when I went to get my new one on Tuesday the attendant accidentally misspelled my name. I didn't even notice until I tried to change my name with PayPal and they declined it again! (Don't even get me started on PayPal and their refusal to spell my name right... for years now! Ugh) Luckily it was a pretty quick fix since they let me skip the line and scoot on out of there. After that we drove around, saw Mike's stepmom at her office, ate delicious Mexican food, and nabbed me an upgrade to an iPhone 5 (Holy fast! And the camera! I'm so tardy to the party but I don't even care haha). By the time we drove back to town and took care of some insurance stuff, we decided to abandon all responsibilities and go swimming. It was nice to swim when the sun was down low and the heat had gone for the night. So incredibly relaxing! Mike treated us to some delicious chicken for dinner and we capped out the night with several episodes of Veep. I don't mean to brag, but it was a pretty rad day overall! Good thing you can't really notice my busted lip! Ahh. I woke up yesterday morning with a gnarly bruised and swollen lip. I think Mike may have elbowed me in our sleep or something (or maybe one of the dogs hit me with their head) but holy moly that thing hurts! I was able to hide it a bit in my license photo but man I'll be happy when it heals.

I had been toying with whether or not I was going to send this dress back, but in the end I (obviously) kept it. I'm a pretty short gal and these "pin up" style dresses with circle skirts tend to be too long. Luckily opting for heels made all the difference. (Well, we first tried to prepare the skirt to be hemmed... but have you hemmed a circle skirt?! No thanks!) I really didn't want to send it back because it's such a great cut and pattern! Flamingos! My favorite bird! I also really liked the cloth belt and how deep the V goes in the back (We didn't snap any photos, but you can see it here!) At the end of the day I'm really glad I kept it because I know I'll wear it a ton. I topped it off with my new Kate Spade clutch (here's a better photo of what it looks like! I love it and want the other one, too!) and some tortoise sunglasses. I think these sunglasses have officially beat out my RayBans as my favorite (and bonus, they're way way way cheaper! $10!) I was ever so graciously offered these from Threads and I had a blast picking them out. (Are you familiar with Shop It To Me? Well, Threads is their new deal and it's the best! You can pick styles/brands/themes and set it to your actual sizes, then they bring up every item that's on sale! I'm cheap and love a discount, so I'm in heaven haha Here's an invite if you want to give it a go yourself!) I don't know if you can see my nail polish below, but I'm sporting some straight mermaid nails! I layered a teal glitter polish over metallic turquoise (both Julep brand!) and I'm in love. I don't normally do colors like this but I'm sort of feeling it.

These photos were taken at the train station in town. This building is the original 1896 NC&StL Hohenwald Depot which was restored to it's original appearance in the mid-80's. It was one of the first buildings constructed in town and it welcomed the new settlers. Later, it witnessed visits from Thomas Edison (coming to the region to find Cobalt) and William Wrigley. It also served as a work site for German prisoners of war during WWII. It's kind of cool what you can find in a sleepy Southern town. 

Now that I've given you a seemingly pointless history lesson, I'm going to try to make the most of today. I should really use today to hammer out some details for upcoming plans and trips. There's a fun blogger meetup going on with some friends in Nashville tomorrow night so I'm hoping I can get my ducks in a row to attend. My friend Maya is going to be my hot date haha! First and foremost: Happy birthday to our sweet little baked potato, Georgia! I say that like she can, you know, read my blog or something, but whatever. Today she is 4 years old! (Mike's dad's birthday is the 22nd, then my blog on the 23rd, then G on the 24th haha) Seriously, she's FOUR! What?! How?! I remember the day I went to pick her up. Ah, my heart! I get all weird about her birthday when it rolls around because I think about the "expected lifespan" of bulldogs and then I cry because I feel like it's already halfway over. Then I think I'm ridiculous because I spend more time worrying about the inevitable than just hugging on her and spoiling her with treats. That big ol' butterball turkey is my baby so I can't help it. I just love her so much. And now I've realized I've spent all of this time blabbing on about it. Today we're going to treat her extra special!

The title of this outfit post comes from Mike's affectionate nickname for this dress. When I first opened the package to try it on he was totally skeptical of the color/pattern. Luckily once I had it on he decided that he actually quite liked it, yet he still called me Guacamole the whole time I wore it. I'll just consider it a pet name, yea? I actually wore this outfit last week when we headed up to Nashville to have dinner with Elle + Bryan. We stopped off at a park in Spring Hill to snap some pictures on our way up. This dress is seriously *so* comfortable (though it runs a smidge big, FYI)! Ugh, I'm embarrassed to admit I totally slept it in for like 2 nights because it's just so lightweight and breezy. (Anyone else prefer to sleep in dresses? Just me?) I grabbed my throwback Blowfish Garrens to wear with the dress, and my new favorite "everything and the kitchen sink" IZOD bag. I also took the opportunity to wear my new name laser cut necklace from Kim! Isn't it darling?! I love the typography.

I'm currently writing this post with bandaids on 6 of my 10 fingers. "What happened?!" you might be asking... A glue gun happened. How on earth I managed to burn and blister so many of my fingers is beyond me, but I did. Typing is really hard to do and we've been pulling 14-17+ hour days working on Honeybean wares lately. That combination of events has kept me from responding to emails in a timely fashion so if you're waiting on a reply, hold tight! We've been working so hard/long that I seriously start falling asleep with a glue gun in my lap. It hasn't been my finest week but man oh man, we've been so productive! Life will go back to normal after next weekend though, and I'll be so grateful for that! 

Today we're back at it again, but we'll be taking a nice mid-day break to take our munchkin to get the long awaited hair cut. He was so adamant about having long hair for the longest, but now he's decided to chop it all off. Honestly I'm relieved. I love his long blonde hair but I'm so over saying "Get your hair out of your mouth!" 37 times a day. And being asked "Aw, how old is she? She's so cute!" haha Traditional gender roles be darned, but it'll hopefully save the honest people the embarrassment once I politely say "He's four, but just has long hair"

Do any of y'all have any exciting plans for the holiday weekend?! Tomorrow we'll be spending most of the day in Nashville, but then rushing back that evening to go to my little cousin's dance recital. Then Sunday we're hoping we'll wake up early to head down to the river in the RV. Wishful thinking (always!) but I'm so ready to break that bad boy in! I just got this amazing (!!!) dress from ModCloth in the mail and seriously, I haven't taken it off since. Few things feel quite as nice as when a dress fits like a glove (and is even more beautiful in person!) This dress is one of those rare finds! It's a sturdy fabric, a great length, and the cutest print. I think I hit the jackpot with it! I also really love the little lace trim around the collar and waist. I skipped my usual styling with a belt because I couldn't dare cover it up. I paired it with my new mustard cardi from August Wrinkle thinking it might be a bit too dark, but I honestly love the match up. Think adding the yellow flats are a bit too much? Eh, go big or go home. Lately I've been gravitating to one overwhelming hue per outfit so I guess it's just normal for me haha. 

Hot pink is the color I can't seem to get enough of lately. Nails, lips, and accessories, too. I'm more of a pale pink/blush girl, but something about the bold color has me in a tizzy. Lately I've been mixing Make Up For Ever's "Candy Pink (N34)" and "Pink" from Forever 21 (so descriptive, right?! ha) for the perfect lip color. The Forever 21 lipstick is surprisingly smooth and very moisturizing. The MUFE has better coverage and is worth every penny (well, it's only $19). Together they really really work. (My nails are Julep's "Avery") - I couldn't help but throw on my Juicy Couture charm bracelet once I found it in my jewelry box. Mike bought the bracelet for me (and my first charm!) when we first started dating, and I quickly added several of my favorite  charms. I've seriously worn it about 3 times total, but I do love it. I know JC charm bracelets are often looked at as juvenile, but it's still special. Anyone else out there got one? (If so, what charms?!) - My hair has been a mess this week. From rolling around on it for 48+ hours while being sick, to being "foofy" from washing it, and then not holding curl as well as it normally does, I was about ready to just pull it out. I havent used hairspray on my hair in 6+ months or so, but I was tempted to take a whole can to it today. I really should just go get it trimmed already. 

Today I'm hoping to get some yardwork done, along with some design work, too. Mike and I planted our strawberry plants, basil, red peppers, and watermelon in our raised beds last night and now our front flowerbeds need tending. I'm eager to get it all ready so I can get some lillies and hostas from my parents' house. I can't even being to explain how good it feels to have our home looking like it is. We still have a long way to go, but if you were to compare our home now to the one we first walked into mid-December you'd be floored. I wish I had taken better "before" photos of it but my cruddy iPhone ones will have to do. Once we get a little bit of landscaping done, I'll share more photos of our progress! We didn't take any before photos of the outside of the house, but I think a little explaining will do just fine. Hope you're having a great Wednesday! Here's another Bernie Dexter dress from ModCloth! This one has loads of pink elephants lounging in margarita glasses, stolled about wine, and juggling drinks. Can't go wrong with that, right?! I got so many compliments on this dress while wearing it. It's nice that other people appreciate silly novelty prints. Nothing fancy here otherwise. Just a cardigan and flats, as usual. And a really pretty field off of the side of the road haha I'm a bit embarrassed about my hair but sometimes you gotta just go with it. Gross, frizzy mess and all! While we were out and about on our Florence travels we found a turquoise 1955 Imperial for sale. Ugh! Be still my heart! It could have used some TLC on the inside, but boy oh boy, that would've been a fun pet project don't you think?! I'd kill to have an old car! Cruising around in a sweet ol' '55 while wearing a pink elephant dress?! Sign me up!

Yesterday was such a productive day! So much design work booked and done, new sponsors brought on board, emails answered, tee ball practice attended, furniture stained, and pot roast cooked. I wish I every day could be as productive as my Monday was! Today we're eyeball deep in Kaelah's Closet orders! We've packed them up and are shipping them out! Mike is going to work on writing a DIY post for the custom bar he built for our living room, too! He whipped up a homemade wood stain and it's so so pretty! Doesn't hurt that the stain was 100% free to make. I'll be sure to share all of that once we get the post up. 

I totally dropped the ball on March's mixtape... whoops! That's not a good way to start a feature, right? I'll be making a Spring-themed mixtape for March/April to make up for it though! This week I plan on knocking out as much of my design projects as I can, all the while preparing for Toby's first teeball game on Saturday, as well as my birthday party that night. Several of my favorite Nashville ladies will be making the drive down for the slumber party madness. No telling what we'll get into, but I'm excited!

Totally off topic but does anyone else out there watch Shameless? Sunday's episode has me so so ramped up for this week's finale! Ugh, I don't want it to be over! We love that show! We'll have to find something new to occupy our tv time I guess... or maybe we'll boycott tv since the weather is about to break... I won't hold my breath haha

Can I just squeal about this dress for a little while? Please? Yea? Cool! ModCloth did real good! I am only a litttttle bit in love with it! I even got the sister dress in the mail the other day (and already wore it out and about). I wasn't sure if this cardigan would pair well with it because of the black dots on black dots, but I think I really like them together. This cardigan is the sister cardi to the blue one I've been sporting a lot lately. Yeah, so I basically just buy things I like in multiple colors... I'm not even a little bit ashamed. There's also way more photos in this outfit set than I normally post, but I loved this outfit paired with this location! Sometimes it gets hard to narrow down haha I can't wait to get my petticoat in the mail so I can wear it with this. I'll probably look like Little Miss Muffet but whatev!

We took these photos in Lawrenceburg yesterday on our way home from Florence, Alabama. We headed down to do a little shopping since Christina had never been to Alabama before. Obviously she wasn't missing out on much but we had a fun day regardless. We shot at least 4 rolls of film on our way home. We stopped in this gorgeous field in the middle of nowhere and the four of us (Toby was there, too!) traipsed around the area for a while. We had just enough sunlight to stop in downtown Lawrenceburg. Seriously, that place has the best buildings and backdrops for photos. So many old buildings and beautiful, paint-chipped walls. I can't wait to get the film back! We're sending it off today so cross your fingers they turn out well! After we got home from our adventures we decided to have a "firecamp" night (Toby's word for a fire pit + s'mores). We let him stay up a little later than normal so he could roast marshmallows with us. He went to bed a happy (and full!) camper. We ended the night with a few Grain Belt beers that Christina brought us (our favorite!) and a lot of Wii Sports in the living room. Best Thursday ever!

Today Christina and I are spending the day in Nashville getting tattooed. She's getting a piece on her arm and I'm starting my big thigh piece. I can't wait to show y'all what it is! Here's to hoping I don't: 1) chicken out completely (I'm nervous!) or 2) totally throw up all over myself haha! I mean, I'm setting the bar pretty high don't you think?! Maya is meeting us at the shop to try and sneak in a quick tattoo, too, and then we're meeting Elle for cocktails. Clearly I am not complaining about our plans at all! I am so excited. Just check back with me tomorrow after the actual tattoo happens and we'll see how I'm holding up!
