Love and Some Verses...

Yesterday was a seemingly productive day and by seemingly I mean I packed up Etsy orders and then managed to spend the evening with two of my fantastic friends. I headed to Franklin around 6 and went to their apartment [Bryan and Elle]. We hung out for a bit and headed downtown as some other friends were supposed to have a show at a little restaurant. The show seemed to be canceled so we headed around trying to find a place to have dinner, but the wait, as usual, was so long. We opted for Mexican and headed to La Hacienda. Yummy food and lots of conversation later we headed back to the apartment and pretty much watched YouTube videos for hours. I've probably never laughed so hard in my life. One video in particular made Bryan almost throw up from laughing so hard! It's totally inappropriate to put on my blog though so I won't. Finally I headed home at about 10:30 and Mike and I just hung out until bedtime.

This was the outfit I wore yesterday. I snagged these wine colored tights at Dillard's on sale. They're Hue brand and they're really nice quality. I'm wearing two pairs as usual because my legs can only be so warm in 20 degree temperatures! It's not in the photos but I paired my blue H&M peacoat [from the day before] with it and a new mustard colored cowl circle scarf. The color combination was perfect, in my opinion! I'm slowly but surely starting to like layering for cold weather! I'll get pictures of that get up soon!

So if you've been reading along via twitter you'll know that I ran into some difficulties last night when a lamp fell on my macbook pro... yeah. A lamp. All of a sudden keys go flying! The A, Z, S and W went for an aerial adventure. With tactile grace and a bit of "oomph", I managed to reattach the S and W but the A and Z are little nubs still. I need to go to Apple but I know it's going to cost a boatload and I'm not really excited about Green Hills traffic. If you randomly notice a missing "A" please don't panic. Luckily Z is such an arbitrary letter most of the time that it won't matter. But the A! Ahhh the A will kill me! Anyway...

Mike and I dressed up for an outing yesterday. Went by the new Forever 21 in Cool Springs [meh! Kind of disappointed.. more on that later! With pictures!] and ran some errands. We snagged Pipkin new stairs so she can get on the bed herself. She managed to jump on the couch a few times today all on her own! Yay Pipkin! We also bought them a frisbee. Those dogs love to chew on frisbees. Heh. We had a yummy dinner at O'Charleys and bought our 2010 ornament for our tree. We also snagged wrapping paper and a few gifts! I can't believe Christmas is in 9 days!

Now I'm going to post a billion outfit photos because I was so excited to dress up! I've been really not in the mood lately so it put a nice pep in my step! Feel free to scan over if there are too many! I won't judge you.

If I'm being 100% honest, I'll probably wear this today too. Unless I opt for some of my new tights. Maroon and Gold! Hooray! Also - I really really tried finding some new shoes [heels.. maybe?] yesterdayday but I have realized I'm not a shoe girl and I never will be. And Mike doesn't really like heels anyway... but I did try! ;) I'll break out of this shell eventually! ♥

PS: Yesterday was my best friend Jessica's 23rd birthday! Hooray! Happy Birthday Jessica! I love you!

Outfit Post : Thursday, September 16

I'd be lying if I said anything about today has gone as planned. It most certainly hasn't. Of course, It'd be rather silly (and hypocritical) of me to let it ruin the rest of the day, right? Well, I was running late for class, I hopped on the interstate thinking it'd be faster, only to be greeted with bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic. Oh me! I finally got off of the interstate to take a backroad and I was a bit late for class. I pulled up, rushed in and then realized that not a single person was in class... not even the teacher. All of that stress for nothing (I hate being late for class! HATE!) I sit down in class and I try to work on my Personal Fact Sheet... well, the internet goes down. Oh wait, everyone else seems to be able to navigate the web just fine. Then I realized, as I tried to perfect my Literature paper to be handed in today, that I forgot my Literature book at home... in another town. Thank GOODNESS Mike didn't have to work until 4pm so he was able to bring it to me (Thank you Mike! Seriously... You are THE most incredible guy ever!). Now I'm trying to print out my Portfolio stuff to turn in and I realized that I trashed all of the files. All of them. And emptied the trash can.

Dear Universe, could you please just cut me a break?! Please?!

At least my outfit is cute today. (Rather bold of me to speak so highly of myself, isn't it?!) I just wish I had a fun, care-free, and sweet disposition about myself to accompany it. (Really I'm just tickled with my new dress and cardigan). Here are some pictures.

I'm working on a shark infographic for portfolio and man, it's going to kick my butt! It's SO much illustration! But I'm excited to have a 100% shark piece to showcase. I hope it turns out well. I'm going to go turn in my paper and head home. I just want to be a recluse today. Hopefully everything turns around soon!

Outfit Post : Wednesday, September 15

Yesterday did not go as planned... in any sense of the word. Everything fell apart early on. I had an epic "Dude, Where's my car?" experience as I had forgotten my car in Franklin the night before. Yes, I forgot my car. How? Well Mike and I went car hunting on Monday evening and I met him in Franklin. We left my car and went to Nashville, test drove some stuff and came back. We bypassed Franklin on the way home and it didn't occur to me until yesterday morning as I was late for class and I ran out, looked around in a daze and forgot where my car was. Mike rushed me to campus, I went to my first class (after InDesign wouldn't cooperate and I couldn't churn out the PDF I needed) and then I sat around until my second class. Alex took me to my car afterwards and the day went a little more smoothly.

Then today I woke up, rushed to Merissa's house (like 40 minutes away), hopped in her car so we could rush to Music Row to a design company tour. We were late, we couldn't find parking. Oh my. Now I'm home, on the couch, safe and sound next to a snoozing puppy trying to finish revisions on a paper that is due tomorrow and find a proper hotel for Asheville next month (provided we are able to go).

I wore a new dress today. I picked it up at Urban Outfitters the other day and it fit like a dream. Also sporting the new white cardigan I got from Target. Oh I love cardigans! I feel like I have so much to do and not nearly enough time to do it in. So many giveaways to get up and so many posts. I should do this all weeks in advance!

Here are a few photos until I have this week's Wedding Wednesday post live! (Note the greasy hair and the black roots! Oh my! That time already?!?!)

Outfit Post : Sunday, August 8

Last night I went to work and time stood still. Mike came down after work and I made like $13 in the first two and a half hours (pretty rough, right?). Luckily the last half of work picked up dramatically and I left with a decent amount. We came home, crashed in bed, and slept in. This morning my nana and uncle stopped by to see the house and then Mike and I shot some outfit photos down at this little adorable abandoned house. It reminds me so much of one next door to us when we lived in Franklin and I miss that house so much! It was so run down but it had the most beautiful brick red and cream color scheme! This one is nice though! We'll definitely be going back for sure. (If anyone lives in/around Spring Hill/Franklin, TN and you know of any really great picture taking spots, share your knowledge! We like driving to find places so we're open!)

We ran to Target after the photos and picked up some stuff, then cooked the MOST legit lunch ever (well, Mike cooked it). We had a yummy spring salad with tomato basil focaccia (and 3 pepper hummus) and vegetarian "beef" tacos :D Yum! Now he's cooking a pasta dish that we're taking to a veg potluck his friend is hosting.

Anyway, here are the photos!

Normally I'm not a huge fan of this dress... I've always felt like it shapes me awkwardly and it flares out quite a bit, but I actually enjoyed wearing it today and even though I styled it up the exact same way I do everything else (black cardigan, black shoes), I thought it was a nice touch. :) Also, I switched makeup brands today... not really on purpose but because I'm out of my MAC foundation and I don't want to go to Franklin to buy any so I used solely my Bare Minerals stuff... and I have to admit... I [was] a bit impressed. It's very light and airy, but seems to provide decent coverage. My freckles poke out underneath it and that's always nice (in my opinion). I still have cartoon eyebrows (:P haha) though! I'm just rambling here! If any of you use Bare Minerals, do you like it better than MAC or what's your opinion? I'm SO ignorant at makeup so feel free to school me! [Edit: If you have other brand suggestions, let me hear them! I have naturally dry skin so if it has a built in moisturizer, that's even better! I prefer a compressed compact (semi-solid) foundation rather than liquid or straight powder.. if that makes sense? haha And upon reevaluating the Bare Minerals on my face, I'm not a fan. Ugh! Hate when that happens! It's just... bleh! Suggest!]

Off to get ready and help Mike out a bit!

xoxo

PS; I know the photos from Flickr are being all pixelated again (I can actually see it on my browser now!) so I'm going to try to figure out why on earth this keeps happening! Stick with me!

Today is going to be a busier day. I have to dye my hair (look at those yucky roots! Ew!), find something to wear to work, actually GO to work, and do the whole bartending thing until 2am! I hope I remember how to make drinks! It's amazing that I've worked there for 4 and a half years but I feel like I forgot how! (BTW, I tried fixing the pixelated issue that some of you were having with my photos from Flickr! Let me know if it worked! But I'm too lazy to go back and fix the most recent entry!)
