// Social Shopping

I'm a huge fan of social shopping. If there's a flash sale site and it has an app, I can almost guarantee I have it on my phone. I keep all of my favorite apps organized on one page so I can just scroll through them and check them regularly. I've found some of my very favorite things on various apps. Whether I'm looking for home decor, kids clothing, or accessories for me or Mike, I usually scour these apps first in hopes of scoring a really good deal. Go ahead and ask me how many Christmas presents I've already stowed away this year! haha
I found a new app to add to my collection, and thought I'd share it with y'all in case you weren't familiar! The app is called PatPat and it features everything you might want or need for babies, kids, and moms. I was scrolling through it this morning and quickly found a handful of items I wanted to order for an upcoming baby shower, friend's birthday and Christmas. The prices are pretty awesome, too.

My favorite part about the PatPat app is their "Daily Freebie!" You can score a range of different things for free just by sharing it on your Facebook feed. Today's freebie was a letterman jacket for kids. I was bummed that they were totally out of Linden's size (it would've been too small for Toby still). Maybe next time! That just makes me more pumped to log on when I wake up haha!
You can also refer friends to the app so they get $5 for signing up (and you get $5 too! Win win!) That $5 honestly goes a long way, too. Check it out and let me know what you think! Download it in the iTunes store for your iPhone or iPad! You can also download it in the Google Play store, too!

Psst! You can also use the code HONE35 to get 30% off + $5 for your first order! (For what it's worth: I scored a super cute wet bag for only $.64! SCORE!

Do you use social shopping apps often? If so, what are your favorite things to buy?

iPhone Photo Dump

I haven't done one of these in a while and my phone very much needs it. I promised myself I'd be better at taking photos this year but let's be honest... January has been busy! I've been graduated for almost 2 months and I feel like I haven't accomplished much that I had set out to do! Nevermind that as I plan (seriously!) to change that!

Mike came home with an Xbox Kinect Monday night as we had been talking about getting one. He also purchased the Biggest Loser video game for us to play with (since there is no gym here!). We set it up last night and had so much fun playing the Kinect Adventures game that came with it, and then we did the Biggest Loser workouts! Phew! I only worked out for 20 minutes but my entire body was sore! Good! I can't wait to do it again today. Our "set daily schedule" starts on Monday and I'm excited!

Yesterday we woke up so very early to head over to Spring Hill. Mike dropped me off at the house and he met his friend Justin for coffee in Cool Springs. I was so exhausted (we stayed up too late watching Skins!) and the house was so cold! I turned off the heat and forgot about it so I grabbed two blankets to cover up with and one to put under my head, then I curled up in a little ball on the bare living room floor and slept until Mike got back 2 hours later. (Yikes!) I was battling a nice headache too but luckily once he got back we managed to get everything underway and I felt loads better! We patched up the walls, painted the spackling and then even wood puttied the cabinet Pipkin chewed! Oh and we steam cleaned, too! Such a productive day!

After a yummy dinner with the family we settled in and watched more Skins. Go figure!

Here are a load of photos from my iPhone the past few days! The dresses are all from Forever 21 (I bought the blue and red nautical ones!) and there are some cute pictures of the girls!

The kitty was up for adoption and I wanted to bring her home so badly! She was the sweetest thing (though she looks angry!). The yummy salad was Olive Garden and the yellow jacket in the mirror picture was thrifted at Goodwill (and I love love love it!). I'm so excited to play with my Built By Wendy Dresses book!

Today we're going to take it easy, work out, relax, catch up on blogging, do some designing (I'm so behind!), and maybe get some outfit pictures if the weather cooperates! (We got roughly 5+ inches of snow last night!) I also have a few blog posts in the works as far as things that have been requested via FormSpring! (Including a Instax 210 vs. Mini post, and a camera collection similar to Miss Kaylah's!)

Wedding Wednesday is coming up soon! xo

A Lil' Kick O' Khaki

This outfit was actually from Saturday, but the dress was so wrinkled I was far too embarrassed to shoot it. Instead we snapped a few photos yesterday before heading out for the day [and I changed]. On Saturday we headed to Cool Springs to try and finish [read: start] our Christmas shopping but we are so far from done. We battled the most ridiculous traffic, met up with my parents [twice!], grabbed a yummy dinner with them while they were in town and then headed to work. Sunday we ran around Spring Hill like crazy people and still accomplished very little. I do this every year... and I always swear that next year will be different! Ahh!

Bundled Up Buttercup

So if you've been reading along via twitter you'll know that I ran into some difficulties last night when a lamp fell on my macbook pro... yeah. A lamp. All of a sudden keys go flying! The A, Z, S and W went for an aerial adventure. With tactile grace and a bit of "oomph", I managed to reattach the S and W but the A and Z are little nubs still. I need to go to Apple but I know it's going to cost a boatload and I'm not really excited about Green Hills traffic. If you randomly notice a missing "A" please don't panic. Luckily Z is such an arbitrary letter most of the time that it won't matter. But the A! Ahhh the A will kill me! Anyway...

Mike and I dressed up for an outing yesterday. Went by the new Forever 21 in Cool Springs [meh! Kind of disappointed.. more on that later! With pictures!] and ran some errands. We snagged Pipkin new stairs so she can get on the bed herself. She managed to jump on the couch a few times today all on her own! Yay Pipkin! We also bought them a frisbee. Those dogs love to chew on frisbees. Heh. We had a yummy dinner at O'Charleys and bought our 2010 ornament for our tree. We also snagged wrapping paper and a few gifts! I can't believe Christmas is in 9 days!

Now I'm going to post a billion outfit photos because I was so excited to dress up! I've been really not in the mood lately so it put a nice pep in my step! Feel free to scan over if there are too many! I won't judge you.

If I'm being 100% honest, I'll probably wear this today too. Unless I opt for some of my new tights. Maroon and Gold! Hooray! Also - I really really tried finding some new shoes [heels.. maybe?] yesterdayday but I have realized I'm not a shoe girl and I never will be. And Mike doesn't really like heels anyway... but I did try! ;) I'll break out of this shell eventually! ♥

PS: Yesterday was my best friend Jessica's 23rd birthday! Hooray! Happy Birthday Jessica! I love you!

Saturday's Recap

I had decided yesterday, after my last long entry, that it would just be a chill, relaxing day for me. I had a lot to accomplish (etsy orders and what not) and I needed to stick to my guns about powering down at the apartment and being productive. Well.... as per usual, that didn't exactly happen.

We'll start with my outfit... just for good measure. (at least these iPhone-in-mirror shots have good lighting! ha)

{Outfit Details o6.12.1o}
{Dress: Forever 21 $30}
{Tights: 2 pairs, WalMart $12}
{Flats: KMart $13}

(you'll probably notice the trend of the same kinda tights and flats throughout the summer. I only brought two pairs of shoes with me to NYC. One pair of flats, and one pair of sandals. Granted I have my flip flops and running shoes too but still.)

I ventured out to go to Starbucks, and across the street was the Big Apple BBQ and Beerfest Block Party (say that five times fast!). I wandered over, camera in tow, and thought about capturing the event. It was packed! Low and behold, my camera was dead. Cool. Now I've gotta lug that thing around all day! Well I hopped on the subway and went to Herald Square for a bit and poked around some shops. I love shopping, but I really love shopping by myself. Call me crazy, but I hate when I'm too fast or too slow for the person I'm with. Usually in stores like Forever 21 and such, you really have to dig deep for awesome stuff. So I hate feeling rushed. Thus, I typically opt to go solo, unless of course it's Mike, who is just along for the ride and never complains. Anywhoo, I went in a few stores, tried a few things on, and left with only two dresses and one oversized shirt (all on super markdown! which is good because I'm being financially responsible).

(I take photos of almost everything I try on in the fitting room just in case I can't decide. I send the photos to my friends and Mike, etc, to get their opinion. Silly, I know. but when you shop solo, you can't really depend on the fitting room attendant's opinion. always biased!)

I tried on this dress in Charlotte Russe at the Manhattan Mall. I liked the detail at the bust but it looked too much like something I already own and this was the lesser flattering of the two. But it's still a cute dress. It'd look nice paired over a frilly white top. Or even light pink!

This dress was Charlotte Ronson for JCPenny, downstairs in the mall. It was marked 30% off! I wasn't totally sure about it, because the print and such is a bit young for what I think I would wear (and that's saying a lot because I like bows in my hair haha) but Mike loved it so I snatched it up since it was so cheap.

This oversized shirt was at H&M and I wasn't sure about it on the rack so I gave it a shot. Then I fell in love. It probably looks frumpy as crap on me and I can't raise my arms without it coming up real high, but I wear a long tank under everything so it covers it all :P But paired with my large gold anchor necklace, I'm loving the nautical theme.

This is an awful photo of this dress, but it was ivory lace and how can I say no to that?! It fit like a glove and I'm hoping I can come up with some brilliant ways to style it. It's a bit hum-drum as is, but I think it could be awesome.

Finally at about 7:30pm I realized I hadn't eaten yet... at all. The single Diet Coke and Frappaccino left my head in a dizzy from too much caffeine and too litte nourishment. I decided to trek to Times Square to get some yummy Italian, then realized that was such a bad idea on a Saturday. Still, I got my food, headed home and crashed upon arrival at 8:30pm. So much for a productive day home. I watched too many episodes of Weeds and I Skype'd with Mike for almost an hour and a half. I have several adorable screenshots of that.

Phew. I finally fell asleep at 4am and I was out like a light. The rest is history. Today is Sunday and I've got lots to do!

xoxo

PS; If you wanted to get together and hang out or whatevz while I'm in NYC, shoot me another email! Let me know when you're free :D I received several emails back in ~the day but I don't know who was 100% serious about hanging. :)

Sunday Funday! (Image Heavy!)

Bear with me, I'm pretty much having an iPhone photo dump here! haha The first few pictures are some penpal things I've received! The cute little bulldog card is just the sweetest little thing! The next batch is an awesome little hand-made scrapbook type deal from Aoife! It's so darn cute!

These next two photos are from Saturday night when we dropped by the house to check the mail. We went inside and it was unbelievable. The entire house was gutted. The floors were torn up, the walls were knocked down and stripped. It was just scary looking! I'm glad to see they're making progress, though I am a little unsure at just how salvageable it really is.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted any outfit photos, and I took notice of that after several questions in my FormStack. I wish I were able to post them every day but Mike's work schedule leaves me little time with him and I've gone and lost my Nikon remote so even self-shot photos on my tripod are difficult at the moment. And to be perfectly honest, I've been a bit lazy and I've stayed in my jammies until about 1pm.. ha!

Anyway, the first several are from the iPhone (freaking awesome quality for what they are! The color is SO spot on!) and the last 2 are from my stepdad's digital camera. My Nikon is dead so... we had to do what we had to do!

(I wouldn't normally post a silly photo like this but I just had to when I saw my foot! It looks like some ridiculous deformity! haha Mike caught me mid-move and this was the result)

{5.15.10 Outfit Details}
{Dress: Forever 21, $? (it's 4+ years old)}
{Tights: WalMart, 2 pairs $12}
{Flats: KMart, $13}
{Belt: Forever 21, $8}
{Cardigan: Charlotte Russe, $25}

After our little photoshoot at this abandoned house down the street, we went to WalMart to get a movie out of the Redbox and while we were there, we popped in to get Mike some beer and I caught eye of some little dresses. I don't care that they're WalMart. In fact, it's rather endearing! These dresses were SUCH a deal so we couldn't pass them up! This first one is a Miley Cyrus + Max Azria dress (some of the stuff isn't bad!). I loved it because it's red/white striped top and the bottom is a denim-looking blue. It was SO cute, so I snatched it up. It was a PERFECT fit so Mike grabbed every variation of it (a black top, a white top, and a navy/white striped top). I got all four! haha I also picked up this totalllly loud, ruffly number. I'd wear it with a big chunky brown belt, no tights, and brown sandals, but I didn't feel like peeling my two pairs of tights off :P

We came home and Mike got some face time with Baby G while I sliced up some vegetables. Mike decided he wanted to make veggie stirfry tonight (yum!) We made a heaping plate of veggies, brown rice and added in the sauce. It was delicious. Now we're watching Anchorman... one of my all time favorite movies! LOVE!

Such a wonderful way to end the day! I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday Funday as well! I'm taking my sewing machine to try and get repaired tomorrow (I'm having problems with my top thread knotting up in the bobbin chamber) and I'm hoping it'll be a quick/easy fix. If so, I'll be back with a DIY Craft Post tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Until next time!

xoxo
