I feel like this outfit is just shouting "HEY! LOOK HOW TAN I AM!" I don't think I'm as tan as these photos might suggest, but I have been enjoying the sun a lot this season. I've had this dress for several months now, but it's only just making it's way to the blog. The photos make it a bit hard to see, but it's a light yellow seersucker material with lace all over the shoulders and back. Ah, it's seriously perfect. I actually wore it when some girl friends came down for my birthday slumber party at the beginning of April, and I dripped some bright pink nail polish on the skirt just as they were pulling in the driveway. I was so so heartbroken. Luckily a lot of scrubbing and cursing seemed to do the trick to work it out. I paired it with my Stitch Fix necklace and my Urban Outfitters sunglasses. Of course I included my favorite scalloped clutch and my trusty MIA wedges. These wedges are the best thing ever and they've become my new "black flats' (If you've been reading LCH long enough to know what that means, I love you).
The full body photo above cracks me up because man, I am cheesin'! Today we're headed up to Franklin to take care of a few things and try to get some parts for our motorcycle. Mike was able to lower the fork and shave down the seat last week so now I'm able to ride it a little more comfortably. We're hoping we can swap out the shocks to get me another inch, too. I rode it around in our front yard to try and get a feel for it, but I can't wait until the whole thing is set. Can't believe we've had that thing for a year now and I still haven't gotten my motorcycle license! It's on my 25 before 26 list though so it's happening this year! Mike is dead-set on getting him a new bike before long, but I'm happy to keep good ol' Lucille to myself. To be honest, I've got my eye set on the Royal Enfield Desert Storm bike, but I don't think I'll be plonking down $7k anytime soon! A girl can dream though! (Okay no but really, I need that thing...)
Who's got some fun Fourth of July plans for tomorrow/this weekend?! We were planning on going camping in the RV just to ensure everything was running properly before we leave for vacation next weekend, but we're thinking those plans are down the tube. It's tough when you've gotta find someone to look after so many animals! 2 dogs, 2 cats, a garden, and too many temperamental flowers in the front yard. Looks like we might be spending the holiday tomorrow with Mike's parents and then who knows about this weekend. I'm sure we can find plenty to get into though! Are y'all fireworks people? I was totally into it growing up, but now I could take it or leave it. Toby loves his sparklers though, and those little exploding pop rock things (?!). Have a great Wednesday!

I really love this outfit! Especially the bag and wedges! I wish I'd been enjoying the sun because it's bloody miserable in Scotland at the moment. I'm not a motorcycle girl, my dad being a firm vespa man, but I do love the feeling of riding a bike! Even though I'm not American I do have some 4th of July plans as it's my parents anniversary!

Love this look! I'll be totally winging it on the 4th. There are a couple of get togethers I might check out, or I might just have a quiet day and stay home and watch the local fireworks show from my living room. Either way, it'll be great having the day off!
ReplyDeleteHope your plans are super fun!

you look like summer!
ReplyDeleteI definitely remember when you used to only wear the same pairs of (k-mart I think it was? Or target? something like that) flats. hard to believe I've been following your blog for so long! Even if you don't get your practice vacation I hope you have a lovely holiday!

hahaha yesssss! i loved those silly black flats... now you'll rarely ever see me in any. crazy!
DeleteGorgeous! I love yellow. And seersucker. Also, please sent some of that sunshine up to Chicago! It has been a pretty miserable summer and I am way too pale.
ReplyDeletegurlllll i'll always share my sunshine with you :P
DeleteI hate fireworks so much - not the sparkling (prettyyy) but the noise! I am terrified of it. I was always the kid stuck behind the glass door with hands firmly plugged into ears on New Years. I'll side with Toby: sparklers rule!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Fourth of July!

ReplyDeleteSun? There's a thing called sun? We've had yet ANOTHER week of rain here in NC. It's been dark, damp, depressing. I can't complain too much, it's been a mild summer. Love the dress!
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty dress and great pictures.

I totally, totally remember the time of black flats! I love the MIA wedges, though, so I'm glad those are a new "thing" :) Looking gorg as usual.
ReplyDeletei love seeing all the jewelry you're wearing lately! i remember awhile back when you were talking about needing to learn to accessorize— girl, you got it! i think one of the perks of doing outfit posts is seeing how your style evolves over time (not that i do as many as you but it's still clear if you click through my archives).
ReplyDeletealso, i have a vintage yellow seersucker dress that is really similar to this only with sleeves + a little longer BUT it's neat to see how some classic pieces like that never go out of style! you look great and reading about the bday meetup makes me miss you and realize that we never get to hangout enough!
sorry to vomit my feelings all over your blog buuuut maybe go drink a couple mules on a friday night and then tell me you don't wanna profess your love to someone as cool as you!
oh jenna, you are one of my very favorite people. adore you, lady! <3
DeleteI can see how these shoes have become your new black flats. I mean, they pretty much go with everything and they look super comfy too! I love this yellow seersucker dress you're wearing. It's adorable on you and definitely makes you look tan!
ReplyDeleteoh gurl! they are SO comfortable! it's insane! i would marry these shoes if i could... so serious :P
DeletePut some sunscreen on those tattoos, young lady! Your tattooer will be so mad at you! haha
ReplyDeleteYou are right; this outfit does make you look very tan. You look adorable. I love the shoes. They are the perfect height and who doesn’t look cute in a pair of wedges?
