Call me totally bonkers, but this might be my favorite outfit ever. Even more so because I wore it in the middle of a "Tennessee blizzard." (Yes, this is a crazy amount of snow for us. In March, no less.) This particular day desperately needed some sunshine, so I decided to throw on all of the bright colors I owned in order to put a little pep in my step. I've had this Tulle dress for several months, but this is the first time I've worn it. I'm crazy into the orange + fuschia color combo, even if it was ~so 2011. These are also without a doubt my favorite Jeffrey Campbell shoes, too. Man I need to get my hands on the other colors [blue + red + black!!!]. They are so comfortable! After putting together my outfit I still felt like it needed something so I nabbed a silk flower off of desk vase and pinned it up in my hair with two little bobby pins. Because every snowy March day needs a some silk peonies, amirite?! I think the black tights tone it down a notch and make it slightly more Winter appropriate... if that's even possible. I'm not even going to apologize for being insanely matchy matchy. ~*Haters 2 the left.

Yesterday Mike and I tackled a huge portion of our house when it comes to unpacking and sorting. Toby's room is fully unpacked (!!!) and it's amazing how much space he has in his room now. We're on the hunt for one of those kitschy road/city rugs for his room so he can party with his Hot Wheels haha. I didn't quite get around to the several bags of shoes and purses that may or may not be sitting in the living room floor. Argh! Slowly bur surely, right?!

Renovating can be such a daunting task, but honestly, we tackled (and totally owned!) the "big" stuff... ripping up floors*? Nothing! Tearing out walls + hanging new drywall*? We got this! Going under the house to built a support joist for the floor beam in the kitchen*? Nada problem! Rewiring basically the entire house, including sawing holes in the ceiling and walls to make it all work*? On it! But painting the cabinet doors, hanging curtains, and getting a proper coffee table? Not happening (any time soon, it seems). I guess that's just the nature of the beast. But seriously... I'd really love some cabinet doors soon! (*Indicates that I most certainly did not participate in that activity. That was all my rad husband. Sitting on the bench for those was in the best interest for everyone.)

Last night I was sorting through my email while I was setting up my new Mailbox (!!!) account and I realized I had 26,000 emails in my inbox. TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND! WHAT?! They're all read (if I had 26k unread emails I'd hope someone would just put me out of my misery), but I'd say 70%+ can't be deleted. I'm really good at deleting junk/newsletters, and things like PayPal notices and such. But years and years worth of business/blog related emails have come my way and upon dealing with them, I'd just let them sit in my inbox. That didn't ever really bother me until now. If I needed to reference an email, I'd do a quick search and Voila! There it'd be... but I crave a 0 inbox so badly! It's sad to say that "Organize my inbox!" has been on my to do list for a few years now (OBVIOUSLY!) but something's gotta give. I am officially setting out on the task of organizing, sorting, filing, and deleting 26,000 messages. Mhm.

With that being said, if you have any inbox tips, tricks or even just well wishes, they'd be greatly appreciated at this point! haha I'm going to try to do it at a pace of 1,000 a day... yeah, let's see how long that lasts! Happy Monday!

Sponsored Giveaway!: Tulle -- CLOSED

Today I'm so very excited to be bringing y'all a holiday giveaway fit for a queen! Tulle is one of my favorite dress brands, and I was over the moon to experience the stellar quality of their outerwear as well. It definitely doesn't disappoint! The fab folks over at Tulle are giving one lucky Honeybee a wine colored single breasted peacoat to match mine! We can be twins! If you're into that sort of thing...

The coat is ultra warm and the inside lining is beautiful (I should snap a picture of mine!). The pockets work double time as deep pockets with a covered flap, and a nice little side pocket to put your hands for warmth (this was an awesome realization!). And it could be yours just in time for this winter weather!

To be entered to win your very own Tulle coat, please share with me your favorite holiday song! (Mine is anything on the Nsync Christmas album, and no I'm not ashamed to admit that!)

You can get extra entries by:
- Visiting Tulle + telling me your favorite piece in their online store
- Following Tulle on Twitter

Just be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry! A winner will be drawn in a few days and announced shortly thereafter! Don't forget you can still enter to win a $100 giftcard to LuLu*s, and an Apple iPad 2!

The winner of this giveaway is: #164 Klanki! Check your email lady! xo

Sweet Pea

I'm feeling a bit under the weather again (I'm writing this on Saturday night before work) but the show must go on! These were shot on Thursday (?!) down the street from our loft. This was actually the outfit I wore for our anniversary on Monday (I'm a serial outfit repeater! Oh no!). The monsoon kind of ruined the day's plans but we made the most of it and had a sweet MadMen marathon together (I finally gave in and started watching it on Netflix. Now we're hooked and only halfway through season 3). It was really nice day. Work on Friday night was a bore, but it tends to be that way during the holidays. Better things to spend your money on than booze! ;)  I picked up this pea green cardigan a few days ago and I really haven't taken it off since. It's the most marvelous color! Paired with cranberry tights and a wine colored coat, I felt pretty cheerful despite the fickle weather. (Psst... if you like my new peacoat then be sure to drop back by Tuesday! You could win a matching one thanks to Tulle!) This sweet bee brooch was made for me (and named after me!) by the lovely Elisha! I'm not going to lie, I get tickled pink when someone sends me a link or a gift that's bee related!

I'm supposed to be meeting up with some lovely gals this afternoon (Sunday), provided this head cold hits the road. I asked for some home remedies for the sickies on Twitter and got a wide variety of interesting replies! Let's see if any combination of them actually works! By the way, Christmas is two weeks away... I haven't made/bought/thought of the first present. I'm kind of the worst at holidays! Have you managed to get any of your holiday shopping done? Here's to hoping I can stick with my "handmade for the holidays" theme! xo

PS; That second picture was included just because I thought this post needed something silly and light-hearted. I can't go very many frames without doing something a wee bit dumb.

I'm kind of having fun incorporating the color palette into the photos. What do you think? This is what I wore yesterday, and to be honest, it's what I've been wearing for the majority of my days lately. Nashville has become so unbearably hot that even someone who has lived here their whole life can't help but complain. With that being said I needed a dress that was light-weight, long enough to wear without tights, and well of course it had to be cute. Tulle to the rescue! I have several Tulle dresses and I love each one more than the last. I first found the brand when I was visiting San Francisco every 6 months and my favorite little shop, Therapy, in Mountain View stocked them. I loaded up on every trip and I still wear every single one of them! It's one of those brands that I'll know I'll wear and adore until the end of time. The quality of the pieces is so stellar and the designs are way too cute! (Seriously, look at this one! I want it in both colors so badly! It's so dreamy!) I also love that they're a brand that stands behind their customers. If you follow them on Twitter then you can get access to some snazzy deals... even 50% off! Also recently added to my collection: this and this! (And yes, I know I have the sleeveless version of that first one but how could I resist?!?! That print is just my favorite!)

A few of my favorites still in the shop are:

Anywhoo, last night I switched into something else and we headed down to the Apple store and then work. The stellar fella at Apple replaced my iPhone that I left in the rain free of charge, so now Mike happily has a 4! Our new friends who just moved to Nashville from Minnesota, Christina and Brian, drove down to my bar to hang out last night. It was super awesome to meet them and they were fabulous! Hopefully there will be more hangouts in the future! The bar had a slow start but by 11:30 we were packed. It didn't slow down until I turned the lights on at 2am. I like those nights because they often mean good money and time flies. We pored into bed at 3:30am and here we are!

No telling what today has in store for us but I'm ready to get up and out of this house. Cabin fever going on! Happy Sunday, honeybees!

What have you been up to this weekend?!

PS; If pretty dresses weren't enough to make you check out Tulle, almost all of them are on sale! Woohoo!

PPS; I opted for Essie's Mamba nail polish (of course it's chipped on me) and ELF's matte lip color in Coral to round out the nude coral theme. Matches the outfit and building nicely if I do say so myself! I'll be sharing my favorite makeup this week! ;)
