Bunny Bright

Well, these are far from the best pictures I've ever had, but this particular day was so insanely hot. I'm not even going to wonder why I thought tights were a good idea. You can totally just see how shiny my face is, but I really really wanted to wear this dress. The only time I even left my house in it was to go to a friend's house and then get gas. I'm pretty sure I got the weirdest stare at the gas station. I know, it's 110* and I'm in tights. Sue me. The dress itself is super cute with the patterns of polka dots, but it was the bright yellow collar that totally sold me. I wouldn't normally pair something like this with the shoes I'm wearing, but I felt like the playful piece needed to have a playful companion. This is my mullet hair, by the way! haha

Yesterday I spent a little over 12 straight hours working on client deigns + a little project of our own. The project was supposed to be officially "launched" today but we're having to tie up some loose ends and test some stuff. It's nothing crazy or extravagant, but it is something we've been putting a lot of time and love into. Hopefully it'll be ready to share this week! Until then, I'm going to hit up a few craft stores, see what I can whip up, and decide whether I'd rather it rain + cool down or stay dry so we can enjoy the holiday with our family. You know, because my personal opinion totally has a say in those kind of things haha

PS; I didn't dye my hair darker/brown. It's just about 4 weeks faded. Looks like this girl needs to some quality dye time today.

Woodland Forest

I am in love with this dress. I've worn it so incredibly much despite only receiving it in the mail last week. It's like the perfect dress. The coffee colors with kelly green, the pleats, the silhouette. I will take one in every single color, please! (It's also only $36... Seriously, this dress!) Paired with my mocha colored cardi and the "gingerbread" bag, I felt like Gretel, on my way through the woods. This bag also comes in like 4 or 5 other colors and I wouldn't be opposed to owning them all haha. They're so sweet! I wore this new frock to hang out with my best friend Bryan on Thursday. I ventured down to his new house (which felt like forever away) and spent the day catching up, joking around and having a grand ol' time. I know this dress will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe clear through Autumn. Speaking of Autumn, where are you?! It's been 115* lately and I'm melting. (Don't let the cardigan fool you... I'm spending all daylight hours indoors!)
Mike took these pictures of me in my office last week and I couldn't help but have a few dozen outtakes where I'm making the most unattractive faces EVER! I have a tendency to do the very same face with the very same pose in every single outfit post, I can't help it. Years into this whole ~style blogging thing and I still freeze up and feel awkward in front of the camera. We can't all be Zoolanders, okay?!?! ;)

Oh, I also hacked my bangs off last week, too. On accident of course, but they're slowly but surely growing on me. I'm still in that super awkward "I don't know what to do with you!" phase where all I can do is pin my hair back on the sides, but that inevitably looks like a weird mullet. If you don't see it in these pictures, wait until I share the other outfit photos from last week! The mullet is in full force. I was trying to trim my own bangs in the bathroom and I managed to take out a huge piece of the long side. My bangs have to swoop to the left since that's the eye I'm blind in, but it was a lost cause. Instead I just had to saw away at them. I can't tell you when the last time I had bangs was... but 1st grade me with the giant poofy fringe cloud atop my forehead comes to mind. C'mon ladies... I bet you rocked those '90s bangs too, right?! Right?! Anyway, I'll figure something out with them and then who knows, maybe it'll be my new thing. Lord knows my mop needed something though. I've had the same haircut for literally 6 or 7 years. I'm a boring creature of habit, what can I say?

Today is a day of designing. All day every day. And maybe stalking Craigslist for a picnic table to put in our backyard. The daytime is positively unbearable here, but it's kind of nice out when the sun goes down. Grilling, frisbee, and evening picnics at our place? Come on over, y'all! Happy Monday!

Black, White and Red All Over

My Little Bee by Minipop on Grooveshark

Sunday was a fun day for our little family. We packed up Mike's truck and headed down to my parents' house for a day of relaxing and hanging out. Toby played hard. He was all about my stepdad's huge lawn mower, helping fill up the bird feeder, and playing ball. I was pretty much wiped out from just watching him. We visited with my Nana and all went out to eat at the local Mexican restaurant I used to frequent in high school. My mom also gave me a bunch of flower bulbs and strawberry plants for my garden! Mike spent a good portion of yesterday planting them and doing various chores around the yard. I stayed in for a bit to wrap up some design work and then we all went to Franklin for the evening. Not a bad way to spend the past 36 hours I guess!
This outfit is about as simple as it gets. From style to color palette. I love this dress and I've worn it quite a bit since picking it up at Marshall's. It's American Eagle but I was able to pick it up for only $9! It warmed back up here in Nashville so I actually wore this dress sans tights yesterday. For the day pictured I paired it with a Forever 21 cardigan, thrifted purse (I cut the strap off), and my new black spiky loafers! I think they help give it an ~edgier vibe, but whatever. (These shoes come in a handful of different colors if you want to check them out! Also here!) I'm thinking the red might be a fun addition to my wardrobe, too!
Today we're having an important visitor over at our house, and then Mike and I are going to try and finish up our flowerbeds. Then we're going to build a raised bed for the backyard and plant loads of vegetables. Probably won't actually get done tomorrow, but maybe we can at least get started with a trip to Lowe's. I'm excited to turn this black thumb green this year! Here's to hoping I actually can haha

Hope your part of the world is bright and sunny today! The high today here in Nashville is going to be 86*F! I know... melting! Isn't it crazy that it's still technically winter?! Bizarre! (Well, I guess today is the first half day of Spring)

PS; Sorry for the picture overload! I really should have edited those down... but oh well. Here are like 7 pictures of me standing the same way in the same spot with the same hand on the hip ;)

PPS; This is my favorite song in the world right now. This entire album is gold. What's your favorite tune lately?
