I love "What's In My Bag" posts in any and every variation. Maybe I'm just a super nosy person, but I really love seeing what people consider important enough to carry around from day to day. I'm getting ready to jet off to Vegas on Sunday morning and I'm trying to get my bags ready before the very last minute. I'm notorious for being a procrastinator and my travel bags are no exception! I wanted to outfit my purse with things to keep me entertained on my two flights there, so here's what I'm taking...
- Michael Kors Gansevoort Bag - my favorite gift from Mike years ago (the best bag!)
- iPad (with my super cute Kate Spade case! - buy it here!)
- Trashy tabloids - perfect time to catch up on celeb gossip
- Wallet - full of important stuff like my ID and debit card
- Makeup bag (see what's inside it here!) and Victoria's Secret travel brushes
- My "Little Book of Ideas" and planner (both from Target)
- Lifesaver hard candies - I'm basically a grandma
- Bobby pins - because I leave a trail wherever I go
- Calling cards - a simple and silly card for networking
- Perfume - Juicy Couture and L'Aromarine Oceane
- iPhone - with my favorite case ft. my favorite wedding photo
- Bracelets - to change out at random
- iPhone charger + headphones - I know my phone will be on fire all week
Have you shared what's in your bag recently?! If so, link me over! I'd love to see!
Can you think of anything else I should add to my bag for traveling? I'll probably toss in a book or two as well. Might as well try and relax on these flights! Let me know if you'll be at WWDMAGIC or POOL this coming week! I can't wait to take part! xo
PS; If you've got any recommendations on places/things to check out in Las Vegas, leave them below! I've never been so it's going to be a fun experience, I'm sure!
love this post! i'm nosy too and love seeing what's it people's bags!

Your calling cards are too cute! I usually also always take moisturizer and my "hairspritzer" (3/4 water, 1/4 conditioner) with me on flights, because the air in the cabinet is so bad for hair and skin. Of course, they need to be travel-size, but I think Target sells really simple containers that you can fill from bigger bottles.
ReplyDeleteHope you have loads of fun!

If you're into goofy m&m merchandise, there is a 4 story M&M World on the Las Vegas strip!
ReplyDeleteYour notebooks are so cute!

Hi Kaelah!
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for ages, and have finally created my own! You mentioned people should leave their blogs if they had a What's In Your Bag, which I don't, but I did just get started and already have a lot of articles up :) My latest one is a DIY necklace project which I thought you might be interested in! It would be sooooo amazing if you could have a look, or even let your followers know about the blog (if you like it), as I am planning to do a giveaway with one of those hand made DIY yellow sunshine bead statement necklaces... Maybe you're interested? Much love, Bianca

If you have the Kindle app on your iPad there's no need to carry books with you. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you post this! I'm obsessed with what's in your bag posts too. I even stalk the Flickr group of it (this one). I haven't done this kind of post in ages, so I might post one this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, have a fun trip! ;)
Kaelah,
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a blast in Vegas! I went once when I was 20 (bummer!) with my parents. When you're underage you HAVE to keep walking through the casinos and they're huge. I spent most of my time shopping, and Vegas does not disappoint. We also just walked through the other hotels because they're all different and gigantic. We stayed in Paris. I think my favorite hotel was the Venetian.
I loved in this post when you said that you leave a trail of bobby pins wherever you go. I do too! There's a few in my car, certainly some in my purse, in my boyfriend's room, etc. Haha! I'll try to take a photo of what's in my bag and post it on Instagram. I'll tag you, for your viewing pleasure.
Have a great weekend!

I'm not positive that it's still there, but Bodies The Exhibition at the Luxor is unbelievably awesome. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum was fun too. And this may be silly but my hubs and I like food... The Carnival World Buffet at the Rio is a must. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI was just in Vegas last weekend and the Bodies Exhibition is still at the Luxor. Also, the buffet at Aria is amazing!
DeleteI luv "what's in your bag". It always makes me want to clean my bag, and get rid of all the junk. So thank you - I just did :)
ReplyDeleteIf you get the chance you should check out the rooftop bar at "the Palms". They have the best Gin&Tonics and an amazing view!!!
Have a lovely trip
I adore what's in my bag posts too - I can't help it! Those notebooks are gorgeous <3
ReplyDeleteI love these kinds of posts! I'm always on the lookout for pretty notebooks.
ReplyDeleteOh my god Kaelah, I LOVE your calling cards! So effin' cute! And those journals? I'm so jealous! xo

I love these bag posts as well :) Me and my husband have visited Vegas a twice now, and we miss it so! Here are a few of our fave spots:
ReplyDeleteThe Atomic Testing Museum is pretty bizarre, but I think it was worth a visit. The Burlesque Hall of Fame is supposed to be rad, yet tiny (it was closed for an event when we tried to check it out). If you feel like a mini road trip, check out the Valley of Fire, it's amazing. If you want to see a show, check out Cirque de Soilel-The Beatles: Love. It is so wonderful that we had to see it twice. Whatever you do, Stop by an In-N-Out Burger, they rock. Have a great trip!

I love seeing what's in people's purses! I have the Target planner too! They did so good with the designs this year!
ReplyDeleteI go to Vegas about twice a year since I have family out there...I love it! On the 3rd floor of the Cosmo is a great pizza place with no sign if you need a quick eat. The arts district has great galleries and studios for wandering around. Same with the Emergency Arts building which also have a cute coffee shop and burlesque museum.
ReplyDeleteI love your biz cards! New Girl reference amirite?! As far as stuff to do, I'm not sure how much free time you'll have, but checking out all the themed casinos is basic but fun. The shows at Treasure Island and Excalibur are great, and the aquarium at Mandalay Bay is nice. Fremont Street is great if you like Old Vegas stuff. Also, my mister's old friend Stephanie owns a vintage shop there called Glam Factory Vintage. It opened pretty recently so we've never been, but it looks cool from the pics. (We're terrible about keeping in touch and actually heard about it from a mutual friend haha). https://www.facebook.com/pages/Glam-Factory-Vintage/389010544453302 Anyhoo, sounds like a fun trip! :)
ReplyDeleteI love posts like these too- and I carry lifesavers too...for low blood sugar emergencies, but still!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see these posts I wonder "Am I the only person who has a bunch of tissues and wadded up receipts in my bag?" Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love your wallet and notebooks. Those business cards are great!

3. Your ipad cover is so clever!! Makes me think of back to school!! :)
4. SUPER AMAZING business cards!! You are too fantastic for words Kaelah
I hope you have a great trip!!!
I'm so jealous of you right now! I'm studying fashion merchandising and hope to be a buyer sometime soon so tradeshows like MAGIC seem like Disneyland to me. I LOVE your calling cards. "Getting shit done" . You inspired me to do a new WIMB post. I haven't done one in ages, but as far as the lifesavers go, no gurl. I actually carry around the champage mix! You know, the peppermint, spearmint, butterscotch and cinnamon candies. THAT is grandma right there! Have a good week and I can't wait to see your updates from Vegas!
ReplyDeleteI love your business cards!

ReplyDeleteHave so much fun! I'm hoping to go to Magic next year for work. You have to go swim in the pool & get a cocktail at the Cosmopolitan!
ReplyDeleteThere's a little hole in the wall place near old town that has frozen custard, it's sooo yummy. It's called Luv It Custard, if you're near Fremont St. definitely go grab a sunday from there. There's also a sandwich place called Capriotti's that's right off of the strip, it has the best pastrami sandwich ever. They put german coleslaw on it and sweet peppers, it's so good. If you're looking to see a show, Beatles Love is really awesome. Jersey Boys was pretty good too.

ReplyDeleteHaha, here's your answer. Look down towards the bottom!
You are like me! You pack literally every single tiny piece of anything in there that you can get! My bag companion to my carry-on is usually just a large tote bag. It acts as a combination purse and last-minute-emergency-toss-everything-in storage. As long as it fits under my seat, the flight attendants can't complain, right?
I have no recs on Las Vegas... I've never been! It's on the list, though.
Finally I'm posting a comment ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat I always need on flights is a scarf. It totally helps if I want to have a nap and feel the need for a blanket or a pillow! And you can use it if you are cold from the aircon.
Have a great time in Vegas!
xoxo

Nice post, I really enjoyed reading it. It's nice to see how you are able to put together the most important things in one bag. =) My friends actually bring with them expensive stuff that buying a handbag insurance is very much recommended. LOL! In your case, only the most important things come handy. =)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love the 'making shit happen' on your cards!
ReplyDeleteI realize that this is totally going to sound like spam, but I follow couponing blog sites and they have a deal posted where you get US Weekly free for 18 months. I'm totally not getting anything for referring you... I've just read your blog for a long time and I know it's your guilty pleasure. :P Thought you might be interested
