// I like myself more on social media than I do in real life, and I think everyone else does, too. Totally relevant to blogging and new media. (I actually feel like so many people can probably relate to this. I definitely recommend you read it!)

// Want a literal "Eagle's Eye View?" Check this out! AMAZING!

// A typical day for a high schooler in 2005. Holy crap this was my life.

// Oh my gosh! I want to buy this and wear it every single day and pretend I'm Cher from Clueless.

// 10 rules for my daughter on her 10th birthday. This is absolutely beautiful!

// This 2 minute clip of Lisa Kudrow just might get me to start watching Scandal. Do you watch it?!

// People I know use the term "rape" as an ordinary verb (and I'm pretty pissed). I know so many of these people, and they just don't get it.

// Did you know you can now get your favorite Instagram photos on an iPad case?! Hello Christmas gifts!

// These new arrivals are so perfect for both Autumn and holiday parties!

// Three words:  Savory Baked Apples. WHAT!

// LuLu*s is giving away $500 and all you have to do is pin your favorite item!

  1. I cannot understand people who use rape as a casual term, Luckily none of my close friends do it, but I've got some acquaintances who do and what frustrates me most is they just don't understand why I find it offensive.
Also, Scandal is excellent, I had last week off work and went through seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. I absolutely loved it, Kerry Washington is fantastic xo

  2. The typical 2005 high school day thing gave me a good chuckle! I was somewhere in between the avoided goth and the mocked Harry Potter kid, haha. But I absolutely had that pink RAZR. He.Lo.Mo.To!

  9. The article on being a pretty girl in school reminded me, I just listened to an episode of the Nerdist podcast where the actress who played Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years talked about going straight from that show to college. She actually is a mathmatician/actor now haha so awesome! Anyway she talked a lot about being a famous pretty girl in the math department.

  10. the skirt from Clueless ?!? I mean .. whaaaat ?! I nearly fainted when I say it. I was an adolescent when that movie came out (well, at least in Italy - we're always a little behind! ehr!) ... What-ever !

  12. Oh man, I love Scandal AND creepy/weird oddities, so the numbers station story totally did it for me. haha

The "10 rules" story made me sad. We shouldn't be telling little girls that their future boobs are for their future kids and future husband. Their boobs, like the rest of their bodies, are for THEM and whomever they choose to share them with. Girls get enough heteronormativity and slut shaming, they don't need it from their dads.

    1. You know, I TOTALLY didn't read the 10 things like that, but I can absolutely see your point. I think it's probably a perspective thing on the father's part. But as a woman I totally agree with you. I do think his (the father's) heart was in the right place and his intentions were good. As a pastor you can assume his thinking is based on his religious beliefs. I certainly don't think religious beliefs should trump one's personhood, but hopefully you get what I mean! Thanks for making me think about it!

  14. Agreed, and I really did like his points about living life for yourself instead of social media and attention from boys. My husband and I are considering kids, and it's kind of scary to think of raising a young woman in the age of Instagram selfies and "Am I pretty?" YouTube videos!
