Holy October! This year has flown by. I'm definitely enjoying the cooler temps in the morning, and the changing foliage outside our windows. I've been getting really excited about Halloween this year. Last year was such a bust since there were really really bad storms when the kids were supposed to go Trick or Treating. We even took Toby to the next town over the next night to try and do a little something but again, it was a bust. Nothing beats walking around the local neighborhoods and watching Toby knock on the same doors I knocked on at his age. Toby is pretty set on being a Power Ranger for Halloween this year, and I can't help but scour the internet for ideas for Linden. A kid only gets one first Halloween! (Here's Toby's "Halfway Homemade" costume from last year!) Part of me wishes Toby would be game to let me do another halfway homemade costume, but he's got hearts in his eyes for a straight-from-the-pack costume haha Whatever makes him happy! Let's all cross our fingers for good weather. I know it's a full four weeks away, but I can't help but get excited.
This outfit is pretty standard for me during the Autumn months. I wear this jacket on the daily. I haven't worn this dress since last Summer (seen here!) but if I hadn't been pregnant this Spring/Summer then I would've worn the daylights out of it. I seriously love this dress so much. The only downside to it is that it's a polyester dress so it does not breathe at all! Since I wear Linden almost all day, it wasn't exactly the best choice. It totally felt like we were stuck together haha I changed into a cotton dress after we got home and all was well. (I bet my neighbors think my grey cotton dress is the only dress I own because it's my "pajama" dress and I walk to the mailbox in it every morning... Yikes! haha) Anyway, you'll probably see a lot of this jacket on the blog since I wear it so often. I tend to gravitate to sage, rust, and saffron a lot this time of year (Who doesn't?!) Hopefully it'll help me make a lot of my Summer dresses Fall-appropriate.
Linden has been surprisingly chill so far this week and I'm reallllly hoping he'll stay that way. He's started being awake a bit more during the day now, and he's usually really content to sit in his rockaRoo for a little bit following a feed. Then he likes to be held for a while and then he plays on his little activity mat. I should be using all of that hands-free time to get some actual work done, but I usually find myself sitting right beside him starting at him haha I just can't help it. The "newborn" is starting to wear off and he's starting to become an engaging little infant. I can't wait to hear him giggle!
I've been doing a lot of sign paintings lately and they've been so fun. I took a little break from blog designs for a few weeks to give myself some breathing room, but I'm about to dive back in head first. I'm also gearing up for the holiday rush for signs. It always seems to hit me mid-October so I'm trying to be prepared! Gonna paint my little hands off!
