// Things I('m Grateful For) Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving, American friends! And Happy Thursday to everyone else scattered around the globe. Normally each year I turn my TiLT post into a "Things I'm Thankful For" post, and while this is definitely just that, I feel like I don't need to say as much this year. Is that strange?

Of course I'm still grateful for each and every one of those things mentioned last year (and all of the years prior), but I don't feel like I need to shout them from the rooftops. They're just sort of understood, ya know? At least I hope they are.

This year I want to keep it short and sweet, and I wanted to tell you this: I'm thankful for YOU! Yep, you. You specifically, sitting there, reading this... You take time out of your busy day to pop over and read these (often random) words. You share your stories. You reach out and offer support and kind words. It's just kind of amazing.

I don't think anyone has really gotten into blogging with the knowledge that it could (and probably would) affect their day to day life so dramatically. Whether you read once a day or once a month, or even once a year, I appreciate you. It's kind of cool to have so many friends out there, ya know?

But with that being said, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and say hello. Tell me about yourselves! I don't want this to be a one way street. And the only way I can know you're out there is if you introduce yourselves.

If you find yourself with some spare time today, tell me something about you! You can leave it in the comments, tweet me or even pop over to Facebook. (I'd say email me but goodness gracious I'm so behind... haha! But there's that, too!) Tell me your name, where you're from, what a typical day in your life is like, things you love, things that annoy you... Let's make some friends.

xo

  1. It's funny. Each year I do a post on what I'm thankful for, too. But this year I just wasn't into it. I'm more than thankful for everything in my life, but I just don't feel like I need to list it all. Again. Happy Thanksgiving, Kaelah!

  2. Hey Kaelah, I have been following you for some time now. I just wanted to let you know that you have followers from all over. I myself am from Denmark, Scandinavia and even though today is just any old regular (cold!!) Thursday I will spend my night thinking about the things that I am thankful for too. Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Hey guuurl. I'm thankful for you too :) (That sounds sarcastic, but it's genuine. You're one of my favorite bloggers).

I'm thankful for my family. And pie. And everything.

  4. Happy Thanksgiving Kaelah! I love the interaction that blogging brings.. for example, if I hand't started my own blog I never would have found this one, and many others! I am extremely new to the blogging world (just two months the other day) but I can already tell that your world opens so much more thanks to it, and that's an awesome feeling! I am so thankful to everyone who is allowing this to happen to me, such as my incredibly supportive fiancé, of course all my readers, and even you, for allowing me to become a sponsor and designing my header!

  6. What a lovely post! I've been reading your blog for probably half a year now or so, and haven't really commented much. My name is Caitlin, and I'm down in Austin, Texas, living with my boyfriend and wonderful dog, trying to sort out what it is I'm doing with my life. I love music, baking, reading and traveling, and I am in love with New York City. I blog over at www.rockloveaustin.com, where we're currently watching every single Tom Hanks movie there ever was and reviewing it (and, by the way, Happy T.Hanksgiving :)).

  7. Thank you for this sweet post! I'm a long-time reader, have rarely posted before - I'm Caitlin down in Austin, Texas, and I run a blog (www.rockloveaustin.com) with my boyfriend. We live together with our beloved dog, Scooby, and we're twenty-somethings as well, trying to figure out where we're headed from here. I love music, baking, fashion, reading, and traveling. New York City has my heart. Currently, boyfriend and I are watching every Tom Hanks movie ever and reviewing them at our blog - and in that spirit, have a very Happy T.Hanksgiving:)

  8. I'm definitely so thankful for your blog, it's the only blog that I check on a daily basis. You've been inspiring me for years and although you probably don't realize it, I can always find comfort in your posts knowing that I'm not alone in certain situations.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING KAELAH! <3

  9. Hey grrl, hope you are having an awesome Thanksgiving! I just finished eating up to my eyeballs and getting ready to retire soon for school tomorrow, ugh. I've been a long time reader, and I actually remember you from the ol' Livejournal days, when you were in the ~*off topic*~ WIWT group and tinyrockets (ahhh, vanity groups....). I really admire that it's a priority of yours to be down to earth and not get carried away with teh internetz fame. Keep up the good work!

  10. Hey grrl, hope you had a good thanksgiving! I just got done eating up to my eyeballs and retiring early for beauty school tomorrow, ugh. I've been following you since the ol' Livejournal days via the off topic group in WIWT and tinyrockets (ah, vanity groups....). I really admire you that your top priority is to be down to earth, connect with your audience, and not let teh internetz fame*~ get to you. Keep up the really good work!

  11. Happy Thanksgiving! Reading through comments above it looks like you have readers all over the place. I'm Anna from the South West of the UK in a town called Exeter, mostly my life revolves around work but happily I have an allotment, a husband, a bonkers cat and amazing friends that I am immensely thankful for :)

  12. Hi! I've been reading your blog for quite a while now, and I love your Thursdays posts! They are my favorite. I rarely comment, but love reading your posts. I'm from Costa Rica, and summer is just starting, as is my favorite month of the year. Also, if I remember correctly, we share our birthday (March 30). Have a happy weekend!

  13. Happy Thanksgiving Kaelah! I hope you and your little family have had a wonderful time. I love it when you call out to us to say hello. I'm usually a bit shy to, but you know what? I'll go for it this year.
I'm Laura and I live by the sea in the south of England. I'm a drama technician in a senior school and it is show time for the next fortnight so my days are a mad whirlwind of set painting, costume sourcing and fitting, prop making and finding, and calming of frassled students (and staff!). I studied Law so jumping into a creative job was a bit of a leap but I love it despite the madness. I love my chubby cats to death, and am a Landrover obsessive (best cars ever!) I used to be annoyed by pretty much everything but have learnt to be a bit calmer and focus on the nice things in life, which is good for my sanity I think. However, people tend to keep me off discussing politics and feminism because I get so riled up by the sheer stupidity of people...!

  14. This is by far the sweetest thanksgiving post this year!! ^^
I've always wished I could make friends with the bloggers I follow, yet I've always felt so shy of emailing them thinking They'd say I'm such a freaky weird or stalker haha!
But that's really such a sweet invite from You Kaelah!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  15. Awww! *hugs* I gotta say I know what you mean about not feeling the need to shout what I'm thankful for from the rooftops. Then I think it might be the whole thankful month that went on on facebook. After a while it just feels like everyone is competing with each other!
Happy late Thanksgiving!! (I was busy writing a terrible novel last month, so sorry for all the comments tonight!) My name is Cat and I live in Northern Colorado. Currently in the city but I much prefer living in a small town or the country! :D Thanks for being so awesome Kaelah!! I feel like you really care about who we, your readers, are and I think it's rare these days and I love it!!

  16. (Today is a blog catch up day. Wheee~)

Hey Kaelah! I found your blog like... four-ish years ago through my IRL friend Emilie (of the blog Town Mouse in the Country) and have looooved watching your little family grow! I am an illustrator and designer, currently going to a school to get my masters, which specializes in comic writing and production! I'm from Philadelphia, but I'm currently living in Vermont (it's beautiful here.)

Happy Holidays! If you ever want some free art, feel free to email me at stephanie [dot] zuppo [at] gmail [dot] com. :)
