We've been living in our new home for about 4 months now, with renovations having started nearly 6 months ago... and of course it's still far from finished. Sometimes I'm just so scared to pound nails into the wall because we still haven't figured out the style or layout of basically every room. (Anyone else overly-cautious when it comes to settling in?!) I spent some time scouring the Fab website to pick out a few of my favorite pieces that might look lovely in our new humble abode. Of course I naturally threw in a few pieces of jewelry for myself because, I mean, c'mon! I thought the cowboy print would look exceptionally darling in Toby's room, and Mike would love the Crosley record player and the driftwood iPod dock (!!!). I'm a sucker for typographic marquee lights and who on Earth can resist that darling egg-shaped cat bed?! I know Tater Tot and Enid would fight over it (and Enid would win because she's a total bully haha) I love making little wishlists for our house. It's the little things that make a house a home. Anyone else share my affinity for slightly quirky decor?

I am ALWAYS over cautious about settling! In my opinion, it's better to err on the side of things looking sparse for awhile, rather than have to move stuff or have a bunch of holes in the wall. I've had people walk into my house and say "it looks good, but you need stuff on the walls." I say - all in good time! You'll have years in your new house, there's no rush!
ReplyDeleteOh, man....I feel ya! We moved into our place about a month ago and we're still patching holes/painting walls. We did score some quirky finds at an estate sale, recently - including an awesome record cabinet! - but I'm excited to get things where they need to go & start making holes in the walls, myself. :)
ReplyDeleteLove items!

Love it, especially the driftwood iPod dock. Since you like the marquee sign, you might like Luke Stockdale's work. I know you love featuring and supporting local artists. Luke runs Sideshow Sign Co. here in Nashville, and he makes AMAZING marquee letters, among other things.
