Call me totally bonkers, but this might be my favorite outfit ever. Even more so because I wore it in the middle of a "Tennessee blizzard." (Yes, this is a crazy amount of snow for us. In March, no less.) This particular day desperately needed some sunshine, so I decided to throw on all of the bright colors I owned in order to put a little pep in my step. I've had this Tulle dress for several months, but this is the first time I've worn it. I'm crazy into the orange + fuschia color combo, even if it was ~so 2011. These are also without a doubt my favorite Jeffrey Campbell shoes, too. Man I need to get my hands on the other colors [blue + red + black!!!]. They are so comfortable! After putting together my outfit I still felt like it needed something so I nabbed a silk flower off of desk vase and pinned it up in my hair with two little bobby pins. Because every snowy March day needs a some silk peonies, amirite?! I think the black tights tone it down a notch and make it slightly more Winter appropriate... if that's even possible. I'm not even going to apologize for being insanely matchy matchy. ~*Haters 2 the left.
Yesterday Mike and I tackled a huge portion of our house when it comes to unpacking and sorting. Toby's room is fully unpacked (!!!) and it's amazing how much space he has in his room now. We're on the hunt for one of those kitschy road/city rugs for his room so he can party with his Hot Wheels haha. I didn't quite get around to the several bags of shoes and purses that may or may not be sitting in the living room floor. Argh! Slowly bur surely, right?!
Renovating can be such a daunting task, but honestly, we tackled (and totally owned!) the "big" stuff... ripping up floors*? Nothing! Tearing out walls + hanging new drywall*? We got this! Going under the house to built a support joist for the floor beam in the kitchen*? Nada problem! Rewiring basically the entire house, including sawing holes in the ceiling and walls to make it all work*? On it! But painting the cabinet doors, hanging curtains, and getting a proper coffee table? Not happening (any time soon, it seems). I guess that's just the nature of the beast. But seriously... I'd really love some cabinet doors soon! (*Indicates that I most certainly did not participate in that activity. That was all my rad husband. Sitting on the bench for those was in the best interest for everyone.)
Last night I was sorting through my email while I was setting up my new Mailbox (!!!) account and I realized I had 26,000 emails in my inbox. TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND! WHAT?! They're all read (if I had 26k unread emails I'd hope someone would just put me out of my misery), but I'd say 70%+ can't be deleted. I'm really good at deleting junk/newsletters, and things like PayPal notices and such. But years and years worth of business/blog related emails have come my way and upon dealing with them, I'd just let them sit in my inbox. That didn't ever really bother me until now. If I needed to reference an email, I'd do a quick search and Voila! There it'd be... but I crave a 0 inbox so badly! It's sad to say that "Organize my inbox!" has been on my to do list for a few years now (OBVIOUSLY!) but something's gotta give. I am officially setting out on the task of organizing, sorting, filing, and deleting 26,000 messages. Mhm.
With that being said, if you have any inbox tips, tricks or even just well wishes, they'd be greatly appreciated at this point! haha I'm going to try to do it at a pace of 1,000 a day... yeah, let's see how long that lasts! Happy Monday!

I'm in the same in-box situation. Though, I'm not daring enough to handle a thousand a day. I hope you can make it happen! I love the citrus colors in your outfit and wow, y'all got more snow than we did in East Nashville.
ReplyDeleteAs for getting your inbox to zero, I found this presentation extremely helpful for getting to zero and staying (relatively close to) there. http://inboxzero.com/video/

Best dress ever!! The colours on that badboy are awesome! I love the jacket you've paired with it too, it's all so colourful. x
ReplyDeleteIf your email allows you to set up different folders, I would do that. It would help you organize better. Just a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteOuch. Good luck with those emails, girl! On a happier note, you look like a ray of sunshine and I'm needing that today. The weather in Ohio SUCKS. Love how bright and cheery your outfit is!

ReplyDeleteYes the weather has been a little blah around these parts lately! I love your bright colors, I tried tackling the snow drearyness with leopard! And yes, boo to a cluttered inbox. I use gmail and file read emails into different folders like a boss - I'm not down to 0, but maybe 150 unsorted emails that I am ok with just sitting around! Good luck!!!

Every little guy needs one of those cool roads and buildings rugs! We got a great one at Target (they always have everything (: ) and its rubberized on the back so it won't slip around while they are playing cars on it.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! In love with those shoes, too!
ReplyDeleteFor me, I organize ALL emails as they come (school, business, personal, etc) and if they aren't needed in certain categories or I have done what has needed to be done with the e-mail, I will delete it. Just do that doll!
