// Things I Love Thursday

I think Thursdays might be my new favorite. I'm growing a bit reliant on the sort-of-mid-week pick me up in the TiLT posts! Do you write a TiLT/Friday Favorites post? If so, leave a link to your blog below so I can check it out! Enjoy!

// So I polled everyone on Twitter + Tumblr yesterday, but they were seriously split on this question. Should I get the tan or peach version of this dress? (Peach is my favorite color, but I do own a bit of it, and ultimately I want to wear the dress with these shoes!) What do you think?

// Did y'all catch the McDonald's Twitter hack? Oh my stars! It was hilarious. Then the next day Jeep got hacked... yowza!

// Rilo Kiley wants you to let them back in! Help create the video for their new single! (My heart is weeping tears of joy that they're back in the saddle!)

// "Lena Dunham Made Me A Feminist" - Seriously, one of my absolute favorite pieces this week. I caught up on all 6 episodes of the current season while sick and I just love GIRLS.

// Mike and I considered going on a cruise for our honeymoon, or maybe even for our wedding anniversary this year, but this article may change my mind! 7 Reasons To Never Ever Ever Vacation On A Cruise Ship. I mean, obviously those aren't typical occurrences, but in the wake of the Carnival ship stuck at sea, it's a bit fresh!

// Have y'all seen the glitter "confetti" wall decals over at Emerging Thoughts? I'm placing my order today and I'm stoked to slap those babies up on my office wall! Ahh, so sparkly!

// Omerica Organic just relaunched their newly designed site! Holla! They now carry jewelry, too! Seriously, if that initial pendant isn't the best piece of jewelry ever, I don't know what is. (Just a heads up! You can use the repcode KAELAH for 20% off!)

// So I know y'all probably don't take my shoe love seriously considering I like ugly shoes 90% of the time, but for real, these are all gorgeous. and NORMAL! -- I want these so bad I can't even... JC Xylophone flat // JC Caesar flat (but in natural!) // JC Cinda flat (those scallops!) // JC Study Buds flat (oh em gee)

// A meteor struck Russia last week... whoa! What's up, Mother Earth?! (The videos of it falling from the sky are unreal!)

// Wishlist Wears: a flamingo sweater (!!!) // perfect kate spade shoes // scalloped leather tote bag // cutest mittens (and under $8!) // a gold sequin dress... be still my heart! // floral loafers that i'd like on my feet please!

// Taco Bell is a BAMF. That is all! (also - that last tweet/reply... you go, TB!)

// Julia's Long List Of Things Your Parents Taught You That Really Were Useful - love this list! If you're fresh out on your own or in college, this is a great read!

What are you loving this week?

  1. I'd go with the tan on the dress. The peach is nice but I think the tan would looks lovely with those shoes. And buying other colours over colours you typically buy is always kind of satisfying in a strange way, haha.

  2. I love Anderson Cooper (borderline obsessed) and that video was great! Love the links and it totally brought a little chuckle to my morning!

  5. I'd go for the tan dress, as it goes with the shoes better, however if it wasn't for the shoes, I would pick the peach one... And I love this post, especially the interior design photosxx

  6. I would go with the tan dress for sure. I loveeee Bill Nye! He's amazing.
Also, I went on a cruise two summers ago and it's really not all that. I don't usually get sea sick and for some reason was so sick the first 4 days on the ship. It was really lame.

  7. Okay, LOVE that quote about loving flawed people, LOVE the way Anderson Cooper talks to that cruel woman, (I'm a Christian and I love the Lord, so I love homosexuals just like all people. I HATE Stacy's attitude and HATE "Pastor" Worley's message. He doesn't even deserve the title.) ABSOLUTELY DIED over the penguin video, you should get the dress in peach, I OWN that scalloped leather purse: hubby got it for me for my birthday, LOVE IT!, seriously LOVE Taco Bell's tweets SO MUCH, and the meteor - holy crap. xo

  8. OK. So. It's pretty obvious that not everything that happens here in Europe gets news time in the states and vise versa. But dudes!!! It didn't say on the news in the states about the meteor in russia????? It's still here on the news and there are all kind of debates going on because of it. Sometimes it's more then weird that serious stuff like that isn't talkes about everywhere. really weird.
That was serious stuff. over 1000 people hurt and probably only luck that nobody had mortal injuries from it. really get's ja thinking!

    1. I totally agree - it's strange how such HUGE events don't always get national/international coverage. in 2010 when nashville flooded + hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes to water over the roof, it never got even got national coverage. i was set to leave for my internship the next week in nyc and they had no idea what had happened. crazy!

  13. I cannot wait for Thursdays and your TiLT's! They are definitely a pick me up. I love that "perfect people" print. Something I'd love to have in the house. And is it weird I'd love Bill Nye to come decorate my house?!

  14. I like the tan version of the dress better, but I think any of the colors (minus the black) would look good with those shoes.

  15. Ok that cruise thing freaked me out. Kerstan and I keep saying we're going to take a cruise because they're cheap and we're so close to a port, but I can never bring myself to do it! They sound so congested and fake and awful, plus pirates and sinking ships OMG.

  16. Such a good post, love that bow tie picture!

  17. Honestly, I LOVE the peach version of the dress and I believe it would look best against your skin tone. Just sayinggg.

  18. I wouldn't let that article keep you from cruising. Those occurrances are pretty few and far between! I live in Florida (so cruising is an affordable vacation with the ports right near me and a resident discount) and have cruised many, many times. I've never had anything happen while on one. In fact, we're going on a cruise in mid-March! The Triumph thing had me worried, but they'll be on their best behavior after that ordeal. Hah!

Also, I like the tan version of the dress best and I love when you include Ron Swonson things in your TiLTs! :D

i do a weekly roundup, of certain selections (etsy pick, please can i move in?, get in my belly, and an item i want to add to my wardrobe..i also sometimes do a blog of the week) i am so anal that i need structure haha this week im on week 54 of doing them http://veranellies.blogspot.com/
they are a lot of fun though - i really need to break away from so much structure and be free to just pick awesome things i see. because i love how you put things together here and it really is one of my favorite blog posts each week- coming here and seeing what you picked!

  34. That supporter of Pastor Worley scares me so much. I'm so glad that Anderson brought up the Holocaust. It's true that hatred is dangerous but also just as dangerous? Ignorance. She can't even defend her own opinion and that is scary business. And THAT makes me want a self defense kitty keychain even more.
