I got some glasses the other day. Yep. (Interesting fact: I'm blind in my left eye. Prescription lenses don't help but I couldn't pass these cute frames up!) They're Derek Cardigan frames and they're brown but fade to pink. How perfect! My two favorite colors! Susannah blogged about hers (which are exactly the same, except black. I like to jock her style.) and I wanted them badly! They're from Coastal Contacts and they regularly do a deal where they give away thousands of free glasses if you 'Like' them on Facebook or whatever. Seriously. (In fact, we ordered Mike a pair and I also ordered my second pair!). Kind of awesome!

They're silly and perfect in every way! I've always thought glasses were awesome.

Do you wear glasses?(Another fun fact: I used to have some *serious* coke bottle glasses when I was younger. I also used to have to wear an eye patch several hours a day! Okay, fun fact sharing time is over :P)

PS; Honeybean is home! We're doing some revamping on her (read: tearing out the current garment rack and installing our own) but she'll be ready to share soon!

  1. I've always thought glasses are awesome, too. ♥ I have astigmatism and I'm also nearsighted but I don't wear my glasses all the time. ;D

I've got glasses since i was 5 years, and i'm half - blind 'couse i can't see nothing without glasses -.-

Now, i have a big pair of Dior like the classic Ray Ban model, but the lenses, make my eyes very small =(

Sorry for my bad english, but i'm italian.

    Have a good day ♥

  6. I like your glasses!

I'm wearing glasses too. Probably have to wear contact lenses though, because I have a weird kind of eye disability (in my left eye only) We'll see.

But I want new glasses anyway and I ordered these:

But in another color, namely a kind of dark brownish 60s style.

  7. Fabulous! You look gorgeous!!! I wish I could wear these kind of glasses, but I look like a very strict english class teacher, lol. :D
I didn´t know you were blind on the left eye! O__O Is it like zero sight or just really bad eyesight?

    Very very very cute!

  8. I like the look of these glasses. Very cool ...
Can't wait to see your caravan! Yeah, so excited! Will you be hitting the markets or just driving around free lance? All the best with the final touch ups...

  9. Glasses ARE awesome! The ones you got are reallllly snazzy too. I've had glasses for years and its always fun switching them up every time my eyes get worse and I need new ones. Getting a cool style consoles me when I think about that fact that I am slowly going blind. :)

Can't wait to hear about Honeybean!

  10. Your glasses are awesome. I was majorly jealous when I saw Susannah's and now I'm jealous of yours too. I love the excitement of getting new frames. These are my newest ones: http://tinyurl.com/3u5xqq9

  11. i got glasses this week too. nerds rule :)

  12. Yup, when I was in grade five I had HUGE red-framed glasses (think Sally Jesse Raphael) AND headgear. And I was a nerd who stayed in at recess and read fantasy novels ... and wore tapered purple sweatpants.

    I was awesome, hahahahaha.

These days I actually really like wearing my glasses. I think they suit my personality.

  13. I have a very light prescription for my glasses so I don't need them everyday, but when driving they help. I've been looking for them for a while now and my 2 year old just found them in our glove box under a bunch of sticky prunes (my kid's snacks lol). Needless to say, I'm in the market for some new ones and your's look awesome!!

  14. those glasses are supercute! LOVE them!

  15. How exciting! I cannot wait to see your mobile shop! That is just fabulous...as are your glasses. I am an avid glasses wearer. I used to have 13 pairs of glasses but recently my prescription got worse and I bought two new ones. Now I just flip between a wire pair that is silver toned and a cat eye like khaki, taupe, and brown swirl one. I think glasses are better than contacts and more convenient! Yours are adorable. 16. These look so awesome on you! I wear my glasses a lot, but I only have about -1. I got used to seeing 100%, so I get annoyed when I don't wear them. And they're awesome Ray-Bans (not wayfarers, a sleeker model). :)

  17. love these so much! i have a nice little collection of glasses going on but i mostly just wear them for reading/tv/computer use..and for fun!

  20. I love those glasses! They look fab on you!

My family has a history of bad left eyes too. I have astigmatism in my left eye and my vision is so bad that I have to special order my contacts. I had some bad coke bottle glasses when I was younger too!! My stepbrother was nearly blind in his left eye, but luckily they discovered it when he was young enough to correct it. He also had to wear an eye patch for several hours a day. Now he's fine!

Anyway, it's been nearly five years since I splurged on a new pair of prescription glasses...maybe I'll check this company out!

  21. I wear them but usually for reading or when I'm really tired! I love mine.. I found them at a quirky boutique (:
I think wearing glasses is the coolest ;)

  25. Yes,I can so relate to you on the glasses thing. I sent you an email about "my story" haha. I was born legally blind so I wore coke bottle glasses all through school. It felt so weird to get contacts, and to know that I didn't have to wear those pesky glasses anymore. I really love ya'll's (you and susannah's) glasses. I'm hoping to have laser surgery (where I can see waaay better, like 2020) in the future. :)

  27. wow your blind in one eye!!. I have a lazy eye. Just meaning it's weaker then the other and i had to also wear glasses with a patch in 2nd grade because of it to make the other eye stronger. Love your blog. it it coming. I like you even more knowing you had to wear a patch.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Your glasses are really cute! Not to be a stick in the mud but isn't it illegal to drive without the use of both of your eyes?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I've worn glasses since the 2nd grade. I used to hate it but now I love it!

They look very cute on you too :)

  30. I'm blind in my right eye! Well, mostly, I have peripheral vision, but that's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. i too had coke bottles and had to wear said eyepatch. unfortunately. i still have coke bottles and have to pay extra for the fancy lenses that dont make my left eye three times bigger than my right. hehe. these glasses are awesomely dorky- they look like military issues.

  32. Those glasses are super cute, I'm getting more into the bigger frame glasses lately. I wear glasses to see distance but they are my dainty square glasses that go with everything. I wear clear lenses on most of my bigger frames. :)

  33. These are gorgeous! I love old school frames, they have so many great shapes. I've worn glasses for about 10 years now, and finally have my favourite pairs from Gok Wan's brand at Specsavers. They're big and purple tortoise shell :D

You should google Deirdre Barlow of Coronation Street (a soap over here), she's had amazingly huge, gradient fading glasses over the last 30 years.

  34. I have really terrible eyesight. I had to wear super thick glasses back in the 80's. They did not make little kid sized glasses back then. I wear contacts most of the time now but sometimes I wear my glasses. They are purple.

  36. Ha loooooove these! I seriously want glasses, its sooo unfair. I actually did a post about my love for them and my pain at not needing them recently here (http://www.loladee.com/?p=3353) haha! I love how silly and yet endearing they are! These really suit you. And glad you got your honeybean home :) Good luck with the renovations! LolaDee XO

  37. love those glasses! too cute! I just got glasses the first time ever, and definitely didn't pick out lenses I ended up loving, so now I'm looking for funkier frames. may have to check that store out :)

  38. AWW! You're so cute!! Love the spectacles! :)

  39. Hot glasses! I too am a glasses wearer. While you lost the coke bottles, I am still rockin’ em (at the tender age of 23!). My fun fact: I may need a cornea transplant in the near future (which scares the hell outta me!). But for the meantime I’ll continue to enjoy the large, garish ‘fashion statement’ that sits on my nose :)

  40. I didn't know you were blind in one eye! I love the glasses though, super cute! I had a camper who developed cancer in her eye at a really young age and had to have it removed...she wore a patch but even without it, she didn't look a whole lot different.

Can't wait to see the Honeybean's progress! <3

  41. I had a lazy eye as a kid (my right eye drifted inward) and I had to wear a patch on my eye too! I remember the eye doctor gave me a smiley-face patch (I was only 4 at the time) to make me feel better about it. He promised me if I was a good girl and wore my glasses, my eyes would get stronger and better ... he was right. By the time I was 16, I didn't need glasses anymore (though the vision in my right eye is definitely weaker than my left).

  43. Those glasses are AMAZING! I pretty much wear glasses every day, I have contacts but my eyes are too sensitive sooo glasses it is. I've never been able to afford more than 2 pairs at a time (slash I wasn't allowed as a kid/teen) so I'm looking forward into building a wardrobe of prescription glasses! I just ordered my first warby parkers and I can't stinking wait for them to get here!

  44. I wear contacts most of the time now, but wore glasses for years. My current pair are a thick-framed camouflage-tortoiseshell colour and while I love them to bits, they don't really jive with a lot of my outfits so they don't see the light of day much.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love these, they look fabulous on you! I haven't looked at Susannah's yet but I am sure she looks fabulous as well!! I'm gonna get some, but only if they look right on me! hah.
