Don't Go Chasin' Waterfalls
With yesterday's adventure I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to give a shout out to my girls of TLC in the title. I'm sorry, it was just too good to be true. (Luv ~n~ miss u, Left Eye!) After a very exhausting night at work Friday (and a few yelling matches), Mike and I were determined to sleep in. Of course we were woken to a yummy breakfast way too early so we ate and passed out again for a few hours. We finally got up, went through some rolls of film we had developed and then we decided to get on with the day. It was a late start, but better late than never, right?! We had plans to try and find this ominous waterfall my stepdad had told us about but it was proven futile. Instead we opted for a much more convenient water show on the Natchez Trace Parkway. This little waterfall (or falls, I should say) was quite the spectacle for several out-of-state visitors. It was a hike and a half down, and even more so up. The lighting wasn't all that great for outfit photos, and to be honest, I wasn't really feeling them anyway. So we have 2 measly photos of my outfit and then about a billion for the adventure. Instax, too, but as usual they will come at a later date!
Yesterday we also booked our hotel for our roadtrip in March with Susannah and Chris. We will be in Wilmington Thursday March 3rd until Monday March 7th so if you have any suggestions on things to do or see or places to stop on the way (Think I-40 to Knoxville, Asheville, Charlotte and then the coast!) then we'd love to hear them! It's going to be such a fun trip with such fun people. I'm already getting giddy!
Today we're spending the day doing errands and such with my parents in Franklin. Hopefully that'll be nice! Monday is the day we wrap up everything with the move! We're done with the house luckily but we still have to go finish everything off at the office. Off I go! xo

Go eat at Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn in Wilmington. Super yum and plenty of veg choices. Also check out Oak Island for a nice quite beach. If you like milkshakes try Cook Out. A ton of different choices plus the best cajun fries!! I lived in Wilmington for awhile and really loved it. I'm sure you will also!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great pictures! I love the light in them, and your outfit is completely darling. :D
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing photography skills there. Sounds like it was a nice day out at least. The outfit you wore is cute (I really like the cardie, and belt. The dress looks like it's light and floaty - perfect summer dress?) Probably not that practical for hiking, but if you can do it in style, why not? :P
ReplyDeleteI wish i could be there right now....so beautiful. Any water here in canada would be frozen over but over there it almost looks like spring (cannot wait)
ReplyDeletelove the outfit. so beautiful especially in that gorgeous setting!
can't wait to see all the different photos from the lomo cameras!

You are too cute!! And brave all walking out there in those shoes!! haha!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics!!
these photos are uh-mazing!! and girl, you look so cute as always. love the dress!!!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I love how classy you always look, even when romping around in the woods! Also I love the TLC shout-out =]
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your pics and outfits, all of them but there's a thing I've been thinking, maybe you'd like to change your flats :) I would love to see you with something else, or another ones.
ReplyDeleteGaby: while I can appreciate your comment, I really have no desire to wear anything else as I'm not a shoe girl. Shoes and jewelry do absolutely nothing for me and I don't like to spend my money on them. I lost all of my shoes in the flood in May and after that I couldn't be bothered to worry with them because 1) my flats are the most comfortable shoes in the world and 2) I typically hate all other shoes. :) Thanks for your comment but I'll probably stick to my flats, vintage cowboy boots and maybe a toss up here or there, but doubtful! :)
ReplyDelete@"Me": we ate at flaming amy's bowl the first time we went! we heard NOTHING but amazing things about all the flaming amy's restaurants and we love mongolian so we opted for that. while it was delicious, our Genghis Grill here is actually way better! we're hoping to stop by the burrito barn on this trip though for sure! :D thanks for the suggestions!
ReplyDeleteI love going on little adventures into the woods and such with my boyfriend! You look adorable and I love your style and hair! :)
ReplyDeletefav friday.

Take the Ferry in Southport which is like 15mins from Wilmington, to Fort Fisher, the beach is amazing there with huge rocks that cover the side of the beach, and also the best place to find conch shells, but the best part is the Aquarium and the 30mins ferry ride which you will also get to see the oldest lighthouse in NC.
ReplyDeleteKellie Lynn: we went to the aquarium last time but we didn't take any ferries! must do that this time! thanks for the suggestions! :D
ReplyDeletehave you been to burgess falls in cookville, or rock island state park in mcminville? those are both awesome places to take photos. even though rock island is a pretty intense hike so i never take my good camera, just an old point and shoot. (http://raesock.blogspot.com/2010/07/another-trip-to-rock-island.html) you guys would love it!
ReplyDeleteRae: no we haven't! but now i want to! it looks awesome! thanks for sharing :D <3
